Loved your video! I'm going to try it.
Thank you for sharing! I love the bokeh effect, and I love it in watercolor. The end result is stunning.
By far the best Bokeh tutorial I've watched (and I've watched quite a few in the past couple of days). The subtlety and depth you've created is something I've haven't seen done successfully in other tutorials. Also, I wouldn't have thought those muted tones would have been so damn effective. Thanks so much, really appreciate you sharing your knowledge. All the best from Australia
Thank you so much! I feel like you explained it so well that I don't even have to watch it again. Especially the "make sure it's a non-staining color" part. Now I'm off to find a circle and dig thru my paints for the right one!
I followed, very good I understood
Great tutorial on the bokeh technique. Much better than I learned in a class.
Thank you! I bought a plastic stencil of different sizes of circles and a stencil brush - game changer!! I love the colors you picked and your instructions.
The stencil is an excellent idea! Im going to look for one and try it out!
great tutorial!!
Thank you so much for this video. I keep trying to learn from regular instructional videos but it hasn’t helped. I need techniques.
Thank you. I love this effect. You explained so I could understand.❤
Thank you for explaining the technique in clear language!!😊
Thank you so much! I followed along a little but mostly watched your process. Very easy to follow and learn.

Great tutorial
Love this!
Awesome! Thanks!
Gorgeous!!! I am going to use your technique- I was just going through some of my reference photos and some of them have the bokeh effect, and I watched your video so that I can execute the process. Thank you!!
Great instructions and! Great background song. Would to tell me the name of it? Thanks
There is a tool you can buy on Amazon that will give circles of different sizes. Too bad this won’t work in coloring books……I love what you did!
Great idea!
Much better technique than others I’ve watched…kudos to you!
Loved the tutorial, by far the best bokeh one I've found. I couldn't get it to work for me though (DaVinci artist grade paints, arches cold pressed paper). Had a hell of a time getting the paint to lift.
me too, I've wasted so much paper
Super! Do you finish off with another layer of paint?🦋
Wonderful! Thank you ! 🥰
Amazing. Thanks
Thanks so much.

Wont your tape end up ruined, i bought a circle stencil only a couple pounds. I havnt tried this yet but cant wait to give it a go
This looks great but doesn't the paper fall to bits with all that water?
👋
What paper do you use? I tried it and the 1sr circles just peeled up the paper when I rubbed. But then again, I didn't wait till it dried..I'll try again
I want to paint a scottish thistle after using this technique. What colours do you suggest I use?
have a question about colors… what could be the rule of colors layers.. to have same effect but with blue shades or red shades….would you go with a dark blue - pair with a very light or more turqoise blue ?
The technique would be the same with whatever colour family you choose. You would want to choose a lighter blue and a deeper blue or the same with reds. Keep in mind that staining colours will be harder to lift. I hope this helps.
My girlfriend's home decor has a real industrial/ city vibe. We have an anniversary coming up so I followed your instructions in the video and made our 1st anniversary gift. Any recommendations to have something like this framed??
awww! Micheal's does framing?
what heatgun do you use? thanks!
What other colors will work with this technique
How do I know which colors are staining? I have Daniel Smith watercolors.
What weight paper do you use?
140lbs. Thanks for watching!!
👍👍👍💕💕💕🇩🇰

You make this look so easy but I feel like mine would just look like a pile of poop
Try it out! It’s actually quite easy. Just takes some practice to get the hang of it!!
Thanks so much for watching! ♥️
Sigh, yet another effect in watercolors that simply does not work for me. I follow all the instructions to the letter, I mean, I am literally copying you. And yet, after making sure the paper is "bone dry" (which I achieve by using a heat gun just like you), when I go to put the circle down and wet said circle, nothing happens. It doesn't lift the paint, just gets the paper wet. I officially give up on christmas cards this year.
I think perhaps you are not using real watercolor paints, or are using the wrong type of paper. What kind of tools did you use?
I agree! I struggled with this as well until I got the tools right! Make sure you are using cotton paper and watercolour paint that lifts easily.
@@NicholesArtNookwill 25% cotton paper work? How do I know which colors stain?
But the circles has all the same size....in my opinion, takes this a big amount of "charming", from the painting......
well just use different sizes of circles then, obviously!!
