This race will go down as one of the greatest races in F1 history. Whether you are a fan or not of Checo, the circumstances were almost of a fairy tale. Him getting dropped from the team and not knowing if he would have a seat the following year, having always been in a midfield car and never won a race and to top it all off dropping to last place in the race and finishing first was nothing short of amazing. So glad RB signed him. the battles between him and Hamilton in 2021 were nothing short of legendary. Fast forward, October 2022 and having just won Singapore GP, Checo is having the best moment of his career. Vamos Checo!!!
I can clearly remember I saw a short interview of him that year asking this thoughts on ferrari and RB looking to sign a new driver and he said "that's too far ahead" and now look at that 🥹🥹
No wild strategies, no undercuts, no drama. Just pure driving. A well-deserved victory for Checo.

Potentially my favorite story in all the 15 years I've been following F1. Especially if you add in the fact that his car broke down from P3 before that and he got his 4 year contract at his team from the past ~7 seasons breached to make room for someone else, right as they were going to rebrand and he was without a seat at this point in time.
This mans career has been extraordinary. From the hyped youngster, to the overeager hotshot at McLaren, to being the king of the midfield at the team he built up and saved from bankruptcy, to being kicked for Vettel (who in the form of the past 3 years is imo a downgrade to checo), to saving his career with this drive (and others where he gapped the midfield by 20s and finished 4th) and now being able to add a final chapter at a top team
That's a great sum up of his career, and I agree too, this is my favourite story too and I've been watching F1 since the 90's.

The thing about this race is that is so poetic in that it mirrors Checo’s career itself. He started with big promises and big podiums in 2012, went to a big team but after that he fell hard from the top and has ever since 2014 slowly climbing back step by step to a big team where he can do great stuff. The comeback king!
@Fernando Sánchez I felt inspired lol
@Fernando Sánchez or the king without a crown too.
I think this is much better story than Gasly's win. Perez was demoted from McLaren got in the midfield team. Saved Force India/Racing Point from going bankrupt, saved all those engineers, mechanics, factory workers and everyone from getting fired and then Strolls turned away from him to get Vettel. It was his (at the time) penultimate race in F1. Without seat for 2021 he really shone in the closing rounds of the season. Finally he got his first ever victory after 190 race starts and he absolutely deserved it. And it got him his second chance in a big team and he really nailed it. Beautiful story.

Watching this again n again when ever I gets time it's never old checo is king of come back checo s big fan since force India 🇮🇳 team lots of love from India to checo n Mexico 🇮🇳🇲🇽.
Mr. Perez you have a new fan. I missed this completely not following F1 for a few years. Now go on, become world champion, I seriously think you may be able to do it!
same story for me... I was into F1 mid 70's then Life happened lol... my interest rekindled just before Zandvoort Dutch Open 2021... a lot of catching up to do but absolutely tracing back many of Checo's races.
I have been watching F1 for just 6 months. But this brought tears in my eyes 🤧
Edit: I read his whole f1 career in wiki and also his second place in Malaysia also The move to Mclaren, Then his 7 years at Force India/ Racing Point also his contract termination. Undoubtedly the King of Midfield in 2010's.
He was clearly the best of the rest in 2016 and 2017
It truly does not matter how long you've been watching for, this was an insanely emotional race for anyone who loves this sport. I've been watching for as long as I can remember and this is easily one of the most insane races I've ever watched. I was practically screaming at my TV for Russell, but still so happy for Perez. This one is an instant classic. I must admit though, 2020 as a season was absolutely crazy. All we need to improve it next year is a true title battle (Verstappen v. Hamilton, YES PLEASE!) but despite not having that this was still a great season!
This race sums up the difference between Perez and Stroll, exemplified by Stroll's inability to get close to Ocon in several laps behind him while Perez went past Ocon within a lap of overtaking Stroll. So glad Perez is at Red Bull, he fully deserves a top car
Yes,he was stuck behind Ocon and at the end of the race he was all salty because he thought he could have won,so delusional
Lets forget that perez had a tyre adcantage compared to them the « expert »
Not only that but Stroll squandered a great opportunity to win at Monza. As much as I feel he did improve in 2020, I really don’t think he’s at a high enough level yet to help get that team to where it wants to be, and nor is Vettel. Dropping Perez is probably one of the worst choices I’ve seen a team make in F1
@@Cimmerian_Iter Stroll had tyre advantage on Ocon as well, and he never managed an overtake.
Stroll - soft tyres - one lap newer
Ocon - hard tyres - one lap older
we could die from excitement when he gets his first RB podium, which is coming very soon I think! ¡Por favor, Dios le dé a Checo este regalo que se lo merece!
Imagine how much Adrenaline going through Sergio Perez's Body.
I get that second hand watching highlights, having seen the race live 😊
If I were that Mexican announcer I'd be like "PEREZ GANOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! CECHO PEREEEEEEEEEEEEEZ!! EL CHINGON DE BAHRAAAAAAAAAAIN!!!!"
@@geosync9742 True dat, the announcer was lacking a lot of emotion
@@geosync9742 From the accent, he was not Mexican. Sounded South American.
The announcer not Mexican, he works for fox, the argentinian checho Rodriguez is better
Perez waited 9 years for his maiden victory. What an F1 driver! From Sauber in 2011, To Force India, McLaren, Racing Point, and now in Red Bull.
I always tear up with Checo's reaction, he cries a bit before saying "I'm speechless" and then asks about his son. Such a rollercoaster of emotion, the most important race of his career won by what we call "garra mexicana", pure effort and mental strength.
Netflix: ‘hey this is our job!’
@ no Netflix has an F1 show that is a 10 episode mini documentary
This is better than what Netflix did
Why did I almost cry?! Goosebumps on my cheeks! His performance in this race was phenomenal and showed what a fantastic driver he is and this is what got him that RedBull seat
I've followed Checo since. Great driver, no ego and very humble
This victory was something unexpected
Its breaks my heart. Happy for checo...sad for Georg...i cant even write his name without crying 😭😭😭
Unless you’re will buxton
for me Checo's win was pretty much the most epic thing to happen this past season
This exact race made me ADORE Sergio Perez!!!
What an insane show of talent and never give up spirit.
That's what I like about the man..he is the definition of slow and steady. Took him 10 years but I bet his victory was sweeter to him than any of the 92 Hamilton has under his belt.
@@ildesalinas3412 According to teammate Jenson Button he is not as slow as people think.
after checo's performance this season ive felt the need to watch this again....
Real
Sergio Perez is the most underrated F1 driver of all time… what a shame, but I am still hoping he can one day proof them all wrong so he can get the real recognition he deserves.
i could say the most underrated with stirling moss, both sharing the first place
Checo world champoin 2022?
*Giggles from Monaco
Monaco says hi!
You're completely right 👍

Alternative title: How Perez got to RedBull
Another will be how Albon loose his seat 😅
Perez please summon this energy in present day F1 (2024). WE NEED YOU!!!
