Thanks for your review, analysis and fun graphics. I bought this expansion map pre-pandemic and we did play Team Asia and enjoyed it yet somehow never played Legendary Asia. Maybe it is missing that oomf. Now, I’d be a bit hesitant to play it a high player count which is my favorite way to play TTR games. Like I said in another one of your videos, I am considering Nordic Countries for the times I do only have 2 players. Not sure I want to see your video of Sails and Rails because all indicators you’ve given is that you consider it a dumpster fire and it’s my favorite. Looking forward to a review about Japan/Italy expansion map! Japan is fun and we enjoy it. Thus haven’t made it to the B side, Italy.
I reaaaaalllllllly like Italy I'd reccommend giving that one a play! I'm not sure when I'm making the R&S video tbh, I wanted to build up to it by reviewing everything released up to it, but I'm getting kinda figity and want to explain my thoughts on it. I've had a handful of comments telling me it's their favorite, so I'm excited to make a video about my hot take. Yeah Legendary Asia is okay. Not my favorite not my least favorite. I agree though playing it at a high player count seems like a nightmare.
I think it would benefit America way more than it would Europe. It's really all hypothetical though. I think America has a balance problem with the east to west routes running a lot more points than north to south. So in theory, I think that mountains could balance that out a bit more but that's up in the air.
I'm glad that you and your group enjoy it! I still play it with my family sometimes, I personally just have a vendetta against it. On the terms of it being a "popular" opinion, the game seems to be pretty polarizing. I've seen a lot of reviews where some people love it and some people hate it. That being said I still think the game is bad, but I'm still glad others can get enjoyment out of it.
Honestly I really enjoyed the dive into the mechanics, but don't you think it is unfair to say any mechanics are OBJECTIVELY bad? I feel like each mechanic is up to interpretation by the player and individuals may be looking for more casual gameplay in different scenarios. Overall, i love the logic behind your criticisms but the word "objectively" didn't sit with me right.

What would you hypothetically think of a version of TTR America or Europe that had mountains added in?

this video is legendary
No you
I want to see a video on rails and sails.
All in good time brother
I honestly think rails and sails is great. My board game group enjoys it. Rails and sails being bad is not a popular opinion.
