All of your videos are such high quality, I've been watching for 3ish months now, and every time I see one of your videos I'm amazed you can make them so fast, thank you!
Channel for the more technical side of things would be awesome but this is great "get your foot in the door" content for the beginner. The Gorilla Grow tent look awesome.
Appreciate you sharing knowledge, like explaining logic about grain vs sawdust benefits/application methods for desired yield or production results. Thank you! Love the vids
Okay... I am greatly impressed with the way you grow mushrooms, but what really amazes me is your ability to keep all of that organized, neat, and functional. I am just beginning to grow mushrooms and you are an inspiration! Good luck to you. I hope your business turns out better than you ever dreamed it could.
I love all your information packed video's. I wish I had found them sooner, but so happy I'm here now. Thank you for sharing your adventures in shrooming! I'm just starting in my house and time will tell.
Thank you for these informative videos. Charity. Your operation seems very productive and is a great model for success. True asset to both mushroom cultivation and Fruits of charity. I am putting my first three jars of fully colonized Sawdust and Rice bran supplemented substrate into my humble fruiting chambers this morning when my lights come on. (Automated mono tubs). I am excited and hope to be eating fruits and sharing some with neighbors soon. Peace to Everyone 😊
I think you can get resistance sealers with an electromagnet that holds it shut for whatever time you set. Sounds like that would be excellent for you, might even expand to three sealers since you only would need to push down and let go.
recipe for sawdust spawn? I've also read sawdust spawn is useful for Lion's Mane, but how does it work for inoculating fruiting blocks of other species?
Less nutrition. The spawn is the main food for the mushroom. You can use less and still colonize a substrate, but there will be less nutrients for the fruits to draw from flush to flush.
as the comment above mentioned there is less nutrition, specifically nitrogen which is what grain spawn provides, sawdust provides cellulose which is what the mushrooms break down and use for food, but nitrogen is a yield increaser just like it is with plants
I'm the video he says each bag will be used to innoculate 10 more blocks. Guessing each bag is about 10 lbs he's using 1 lb. sawdust spawn to 10 lbs. Substrate or 10% spawn to total substate weight.
Okay but they're seriously, not a lot of information about sawdust spawn and I'm super curious because seems like it's a lot more efficient than grain because of how tiny it it like he said. But I'm not sure. Do I straight up put the spores into the sawdust and that's it? And then it will start spawning??? And then add it to my substrate? Do I have that right?
Sawdust spawn you make from grain spawn, is just a simple sawdust or supplemented? I was thinking to try this way too, cuz its actually reduce the price so much!
your videos are great i'm trying to get my stuff rolling enough to open up at least locally by the fall(Reishi, Maitake, Shiitake, Blue Oysters) . I don't have a HEPA filter yet for lab/grow room I have been using a glovebox as that's the most expensive thing to buy. I was thinking of making a hommade one with an extra grow fan I have for the tent does anyone think that' work?
I turn my impulse sealer on a slightly higher setting, and make sure to hold the sealer in place a few seconds after its done sealing. Most of the time, that works when the bag has moisture on it.
Hello 👋🏼 we utilize wheat bran as a sawdust supplement to help improve yields and biological efficiency in mushroom production, when adding supplements sterilization of the substrate is necessary to prevent contamination due to the high nutritional content of the supplementation. You can simply add hot boiling water to sawdust to do a simple pasteurization, if introducing manure you’re going to want to do a true pasteurization at about temperatures of 160F-180F to make sure the manure is suitable for mycelium.
Would this be possible with master's mix as well? Or not recommended as soy hulls have too much nutrition increasing contam risk. I would assume there is no added risk, because its fully colonised anyway. Just checking. thank you
From what I understand the best way to grow cotw is inoculated logs, like with shiitake. He mentioned in another video that he's heard of/had success getting small fruiting bodies off of sawdust blocks, from what I remember.
Probably because he is running a labor intensive business and trying juggle making info videos at same time, while also dealing with pandemic shortages of supplies and shutdowns. Things like a box of gloves in Arizona for farms went from $12 a box to $30 a box landed from Uline.....all adds stress.

Absolutely amazing! I noticed this time how your air intake to the lab goes straight to laminar 3. That is how you get your positive pressure. Clever!
Air tight means bag must be packed without air can u explain that packing
By air tight he means air cannot get in or out after it is sealed. Vacuum sealed would be without air.
I enjoy your content. It makes me wanna pursue my dream of growing medicinal and gourmet mushrooms. Thank you

Always cool to watch people who are dialed in do what they do.

Thank you for the great videos! What if I use grain as a substrate? Thank you.
Thanks for all your helpful information in these videos Mike, quality videos
Yes. Sir! This is what I was talking about 🙏 Thank you for sharing. Excited for more.
This guy is great , great set up , great personality, he got it made ! I hope he makes Ton of money , thanks for sharing
Hi ! What's your opinion about psychedelic mushrooms companies going public right now ?
He's in the southwest, he can't even talk about it. Ha jk.
No liquid culture inoculation to sawdust?!
they been using synthetic psylocybins for a long time now, it wasn't illegal, they just didn't talk about it, similar to ALD-55
I meant 52.
There’s nothing psych about it
Anti psychiatry reverse psychology that’s what I think
What system do you use for your labels? It's cool watching and seeing how other operations do their production! love your videos!
Bless your soul brothers and sisters mushroom is so healthy and taste good God Bless!
Have you ever grown any other garden plants?
Those bags are so much easier to work with than jars, I might have to switch soon.
Those bags are terrible for the environment so something to think about
How many employees do you have at the moment?
What's the difference in contents from the spawn bag to the fruiting block or are they all the same?
Man I thought I could be a nut with my directed movements in the lab, glad I’m not alone 😂
Do you not shake up the bags after inoculating them with spawn? Your setup is fookin gorgeous, mate.
I was wondering that too.
Also curious on this.
Can you use a bag of already fruited spawn to inoculate more bags?
Thanks for the professional content. A-1.
What kind of impulse sealer do you use? Mine is ultra fiddly or else it melts the bag right through.
recipe for sawdust spawn? I've also read sawdust spawn is useful for Lion's Mane, but how does it work for inoculating fruiting blocks of other species?
Why would the yield be lowered the more bags you inoculate? Wouldn't the mycelium colonize the other bags just as well?
Less nutrition. The spawn is the main food for the mushroom. You can use less and still colonize a substrate, but there will be less nutrients for the fruits to draw from flush to flush.

Loving these videos, so inspiring!
Wow! What is the size of your PP bag? Btw amazing content and videos! Learned a lot!
Such a good a guy .. really ..✍🏼
How much spawn are you adding to each bag? About a quart maybe?? Love your video’s man you’ve made a mushroom lover outta me!!

the best in the business
🔥🔥✌
How would you very the procedure to grow the mushroom marshmallow
for a meat like product?
Do you not shake the bags to mix up the spawn?
insanely informative content, keep it up.
So awesome!!!
How frequently do you shake the inoculated bags during the colonization process?
Once should usually do it.
Hey how many Amps does it take to run the grow show you have?
Any tips or advice for sealing bags? After inoculation my bags still have some moisture around the top and it seems to be hindering the seal.
I turn my impulse sealer on a slightly higher setting, and make sure to hold the sealer in place a few seconds after its done sealing. Most of the time, that works when the bag has moisture on it.
Do you need to add wheat bran to the sawdust or can you use just pure sawdust and some manure?

Hi southwest mushrooms can you supply to the UK?
Hey man so do you colonize in the dark ????
I've always wanted to know, is there a way to do this without the use of so much plastic?
Not really with fruiting blocks. However there are biodegradable plastic bags. You can use jars instead of bags for spawn though.
Would this be possible with master's mix as well? Or not recommended as soy hulls have too much nutrition increasing contam risk. I would assume there is no added risk, because its fully colonised anyway. Just checking. thank you
Absolutely, this can be done with masters mix quite effectively 👍🏽🍄🙏🏽
Went foraging yesterday and found some golden reishi and turkey tail,,not as delicious as they sound loll thanks for holding it downn 👇👇👇
good shit
you should get a rubber mallet, it'll let your joints exist longer
Kickn ass brother 👌
I bought the wrong size impulse sealer 🤦🏾♂️
Make more videos pleaseeeeeeeeeee

he's the mushroom's Elmo McElroy
What level do you set your heat sealer to
I want some glowing translucent funguy

You seem a little manic in this video. You gotta move fast in this step?
why he so stressed tho?
Probably because he is running a labor intensive business and trying juggle making info videos at same time, while also dealing with pandemic shortages of supplies and shutdowns. Things like a box of gloves in Arizona for farms went from $12 a box to $30 a box landed from Uline.....all adds stress.
@@seanpatrickwatkins9352 stay true homie.
