Honestly one of the best reviews i've seen so far, going through the cleans and more heavy tones with humble playing, and focusing on the guitar instead showing off some shredd soup tho, really Love it xD
One of the few times that prog-ish clean riffs have left me feeling all warm and fuzzy. This is what a modern demo should be.

stainless steel frets, locking tuners, alnico 5 balanced duncan pickups, plus the coil taps, and that sexy roasted neck - best bang for your buck in 2018 all genre axe - I have to say I own this guitar, and I own another ibanez with the sentient and pegasus SD pickups, these Hyperion sound a LOT like those, but more balanced, but you can DEFINITELY get your prog-djent metal on, I run this through a TS808 into a 5150, and it sounds nice and heavy and really well balanced... the cleans are amazing, it does strat sounds better than most new strats - and im not referring to the HSS az, im talking about the az242bc specifically, the 4 position tapped and untapped sound sooooo nice, and the power tap 5th position is amazing for cleans.
if your buck is $2700..........
And the neck smells nice!
@@jackcross1580 the premiums cost 1200 and have the same exact appointments, minus the alder for basswood body..i mean jems have basswood... also SS saddles instead of titanium. The premium is the best bag for your buck.... you still get SS frets, roasted maple, same pickups... i mean thats an insane value for 1200.

My fender strat is always short of a few frets coz it's only 22 frets ....This looks like a good alternative

Im looking for a good beginner and high quality electric gitar for 1000-1200 dollars. What would you recomend? Want without a tremolo and looking for more of a blues sound. Looking at ibanez prestige gitars and Yamaha Revstar RS820CR or the RS620 and fenders made in mexico or japan or usa but all the choices make it so hard to find the best one for the money

@@RahulBasu6886 The Suhr guitar is probably 4 times more expensive and superior in every way to the Ibanez here. I played one along side Tom Anderson Drop Top... they are beautiful and play like a dream. The Anderson was £4,000...!
Mickeyislowd surprisely you would be wrong. I owned both this AZ and the suhr modern antique “Guthrie” and the only issue with the Az is the trem arm is wiggly and I did not like the saddles, I prefer smooth not vintage style. I swapped out the az Gotoh trem with a Gotoh 510 (the same on the suhrs) and it fixed my gripes. AND the suhr is 1k more than the AZ only 1k
What was the 'coil tap' feature...? I think you mean a 'coil split' feature. They are very different things. Generally only a single coil PU can be tapped where you wind the PU say half way then send that wire to a switch then continue usually until the PU is fully wound. Split is where you switch off one of the coils usually a Humbucker and only one coil is active to get the single coil sound.
As far as I know, this has both - standard Ibanez 5-way coil split with alter switch down, coil tap mode with alter switch up
I normally make this correction as well, but this actually does have both tapping and splitting.
