Love the colour of those pebbles. As for the moss balls, you could have used ping pong balls, drilled a small hole in each one and added fine sand by adding or taking away the amount, until they float to the depth you want them to be then glue up the hole and cover with moss. Just experiment with the balls and sand. 😊
You should have way more subs!! Im eleven years old and I'm collecting research for my first betta fish. I'm going to have a ten gallon planted tank. I also know all about cycling my aquarium. Your videos have inspired me to make the best tank I can.
Best of luck with your Betta! They are awesome! Dont forget the heater and they love a resting spot near the top. I have a stick on leaf. He likes to rest on it near me.😃
@marygloved8283 thanks 😊. I am getting a heater and a sponge filter because they need gentle flow. And I am going to have some broadleaf tall Anubias and some hard scape.
Very cool tank MJ. I have always wanted to try the floating balls in a tank. One of my concerns has always been the fishing line and worrying that it will hurt fish. But you have not put anything in tank with long fins that could possibly hurt itself so I now see how it could be done safely. Thanks for the inspiration!
I like the creativity. I have a huge shrimp colony in a tank smaller than this 30cm cube with Chili Rasbora. Tank filled with many types of epiphytes. Nice work MJ. - from Malaysia 🇲🇾
Both my setups have skittles shrimp and they have gone through many generations without going wild color. It's been a year and now I have a few. The generations have been so cool to see! Lots of different color varieties. Well worth doing it!
instead of gluing the line to the stone, glue a tiny clip to the stone and put a loop on the end of the line. Also you could get away with much much thinner line and thirdly try flurocarbon line, they say it is invisible under water
Sweet, sweet ,awe sweet like Honey it is looking! 🤩 Oh yes i do ❤ Moss! Working on my own Moosoleum Willowtree. 😉 Guess what, only Plants will be Moss. 🤣
there is an invisible thread that magicians use, I guess that could be used in projects like this to make ball strings even less visible. Dont know whether it would leak anything to the water or if it would not deteriorate to the point of breking by itself after some time though
nice quirky project! yeah, maintenance could become tricky after some time maybe carpet should also be on something easy removable/manageable? like wabi kusa?
Moss in my tank start to grow crazy when I added co2. I always admired Pheonix moss and before co2 that moss didn't grow at all, but now it's dense and beautifull.
Yeh, the CO2 helps! Internet wisdom says moss is easy and dont need that much help... But as we know the CO2 will help when it is just a plant.. I come from planted tank side and started with neocaradina and moss. Put a lot of lights and the minimum of CO2 just to help and to avoid any ph swings. Not that i believed that i must or needed CO2 but i wanted a maximum growth rate. And that is not just because I love moss in any way.😂 But i know that plant growth consume N and i want to get 0 ppm NO3. After some months when the plant mass had increased by the new growth i now have 0 ppm NO3! (Just the shrimp colonie, no fish in the 50 liter aquarium.) So that is my experience with growing moss and I got to my goal. To have healthy water quality for the shrimp and shrimpletts.❤
Very creative. I always see the floating moss balls for sale in big box pet stores but they look to sad to buy. Obviously, not the case w yours! I just set up the same size cube in my fish room. Great footprint for nano tank.
This is very interesting. I am wondering if the fishing line injures fish. I’m not sure I could use that with my beta since he has fancy flowing fins. He would love those floating balls for resting spots.
hello from argentina, a doubt with the apt starter, yo fill the tank to puto the moss balls, then you empty it a little to plant the dwarf grass, so if the product was already disolved or partially u are removing it i think, just a tought. here in argentina dont have those kind of products anyway. i always watch your videos, im a fan, a big from from argentina mate
How on earth are those Chili rasboras so red??? All the shops near me gave the palest chili's. Do they really color up? I've always felt like them coloring up is a myth
@MJAquascaping What color values are you running on that light? I have an Aqua Week M Pro 600, and I run red 67% green 67% and blue 32% (I love the look of yellow/natural light better).
By whose standards is that? Don't go around and push your personal preference onto everyone else. Chili Rasboras have been proven to do well in 5 gallons setups, let alone 7 gallons!
@ proven?! where?! how?! they‘ll most likely survive, but not for very long. apart from that, the fish are completely stressed as they cannot hide anywhere. just because the fish fits in the tank it doesn‘t mean that it will enjoy their life and be healthy, that‘s what you should always aim for. but for sure that‘s just my opinion! who even cares about the wellbeing of these feeling, thinking and loving animals, they‘re just decor right?
You really have a talent for making beautiful aquascapes.

Welcome to the hobby, you're already off to a great start.
That’s a great idea! It’s amazing to see your creativity come to life with new ideas each time!

Your designs are always great. Thanks for sharing
Thanks Tom 😊
You make it look so easy. Beautiful scape 👍🏼
I have long considered using poly-fil pieces floating around at different heights to look like clouds. Someday.
I love how it looks, It looks like something MD Fish tanks would scape
That is so cool!

This looks really cool, it was a great idea to make the moss balls in different sizes 👍
Looks great MJ. You could try gluing a magnet to your anchor, and a similar small magnet to the line. Easy remove and replace after maintenance.

I absolutely love this idea!!!! Saved for future ideas!!
Quality as always mate!
Thanks mate!
This is a cute theme for a kids' tank, for sure.
The scape looks beautiful, I’d love to try this myself.
Yep another awesome video with beautiful aquarium. Love it!
iv done this before!!! hehe i split the balls in half and put rocks inside untill it reached a weight i liked in the water, then glued back together!
Smart!
Good job❤
I am inspired by this aquascape.
Such a cool idea! This tank is living art!
Please always keep you integrity
Great video, I have wanted to use moss to create shapes in my tank..and this is pure inspiration!
Sweet, sweet ,awe sweet like Honey it is looking! 🤩

Awesome content as always ma dude 🎉
A unique aquascape
Stunning 😮
"Stunning" is a microaggression at this point. When everything is stunning, nothing is.
@@AkbarZeb-p6f oh gowd another person obsessed with everything I do. Everything I say. Get a job Looser.
Do a bucephalandra only tank. Not just any buce though. Some expensive and decent ones. It basically doesn't need aquasoil.
Great idea, beautiful rocks
What’s next? Pandora in a tank wtf. I can’t get grass to grow and this fricken guy is growing floating ghost moss.
ny moss struggle to grow too. this guy's moss should ask the shrimps for rents

Love your video ❤Make an update of all tank if possible❤
MJ, make a Christmas tree (with LEDs!) next time you 😂
Could you please do a studio tour soon
How cool👌🏻💚
I’ve seen people use small magnets for the moss balls so that they’re easily detachable.
Hey Mark can you please do some longer videos no need to rush bro
riccia would have been nice as it looks like seaweed. The tank looks amazing
Mj i love it
This is very interesting. I am wondering if the fishing line injures fish. I’m not sure I could use that with my beta since he has fancy flowing fins. He would love those floating balls for resting spots.
Mj! This is fire.
Third, also nice idea with the floating moss!
my shrimps rarely climb the taller stem plants. they usually hang around at the bottom. maybe it's their nature.

Reminds me of Avatar!
Can you make a video about rescaping a shrimp tank? I wanna redo mine, but I simply don't know how/where to start with all those shrimp in it😂
the white ones (snowballs) are actually a separate species
How do you have a counter space with all the tanks?
Hi M.J. how many liters of Soil did you use? Could this setup be applicable on a small 35x25x25H tank? Thank you!
Not more than 5 liters I think, and yes totally 👍
What do you use for the bottom padding for the tank?
A foam mat specifically for aquariums, but I think you can use any type of foam mat
What filter did you use? Thanks!
It’s from a brand called TRU. There’s a link in the description
@ thankss!!
what is the small canister filter, link sends you to a hang on the back filter
bit.ly/3N6mk9u
How long did u cycle the tank before putting the shrimps?
two weeks
@@MJAquascaping thank you!
6:15 Orange, blue, white, and red. Colours of the Dutch and their flag, intentionally 😊?
Maybe 😆
Blue jelly, Orange and Red Sakura should just have rilli babys, no natural colored ones!
How on earth are those Chili rasboras so red??? All the shops near me gave the palest chili's. Do they really color up? I've always felt like them coloring up is a myth
The light makes a big difference
@MJAquascaping What color values are you running on that light? I have an Aqua Week M Pro 600, and I run red 67% green 67% and blue 32% (I love the look of yellow/natural light better).
Sigh….I scotch tape my backgrounds. I never have success in doing backgrounds the right way and it makes me cry, so I gave up.
I’m gonna try his white background method for the first time ever after 40 years.
Buy the backlight screen for youre aquarium. Its make your aquarium perfect!
instead of floating mossball, have sinking moss ball suspended from the top.
First
sorry, but this tank is wayyyyyy too small for those fish. you shouldn´t keep any in this type of setup
People keep fish in 5 gallons this tank is 7 gallons
It's enough I think cuz those little fishes will remain little, they don't get that big...
