    I just bought an Alu-Cab Canopy Camper but haven't finished installing it yet. I opted for the Dickenson P1200 heater. I am trying to figure out how to add mosquito netting and set up a small room AC for summer camping in the hot and humid southern US. Iceland should be a real adventure. I subscribed and checked the bell so I am sure not to miss it. That attached shower tent looks like brutal place to be in such a climate!

      I hate living in the south. Only one weekend of good camping weather a year. I travel up to the Smoky Mountains for all my camping, in the winter.

      I’ve seen some setups with a very simple frame with Velcro, then some netting with Velcro on. Can fully remove or roll up etc.
      Amazing setup

      Hey , you have Alu camper ? If so I just got one and was wondering if I should insulate the floor as I live in Canada too ?

    • @kellydrolet4740
      @kellydrolet4740 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ty1977 I have a heavy rubber mat on the floor. No insulation but do put a good carpet on the floor to help keep the foot area warmer. I would insulate the wall before the floor. Alu Cab does make insulated side panels. Any heat will rise to the sleeping area so I warm up the unit a couple hours before bed so that the mattress and sleeping bags/pillows are warm. Low heat through the night - just be careful to manage the condensation!

    Thank you for an amazing walk around. You can tell you get some use out of that setup!
    So how does the heat make it up into the sleeping area? Do you leave the lower panel open? Do you sleep with your head at the narrow end?
    We were looking at this system last week and it’s amazing.
    Thank you!

      hi, yes it's been a few hours .
      this weekend will make an episode specifically about this diesel heater and how it has worked for 1 year, and is still a very good addition to this with comfort in the winter.
      will also go into detail about why I have placed my heating pipes inside the Camper exactly as I have done.
      follow along and you'll see 🙌

    Love this setup. Have you had any issues with the 35" tire on the back? Do you think a 37" tire would fit?

    • @egge_overland
      @egge_overland  ปีที่แล้ว

      hi, this has been rebuilt by Arctic Trucks, so everything has been adapted to make it street legal at 35".
      and 35" are the largest you can legally wear in Norway on the Navara.
      know that the 37 " at Toyota have to adapt even more of the wheel arches etc.

      @@egge_overland Thanks for the reply - I was actually thinking of the spare tire on the back of the camper 😊 Has there been any issues with the door hinges or similar? Considering an AT build for my next truck too.

    Just notice the audio volume is low not sure if you have wireless mic transmitter. When close to your camera it's better audio. I suggest try to get those mic wireless transmiter for audio consistency.

    Hi, did you think it would be possible to live throughout the winter in the alu cab with a diesel heater? Did you have any problems with condensation?
    Did you have other problems like frozen latches or veichle non starting from cold?
    Your advice would help a lot
    Thanks

      haven't had any problems, neither with the car, but take care of it, and always have a jump starter with me.
