    In my humble opinion rotation is more commonly used while modeling than pan, in the 3D view at least. I would swap the key binding depending on the mode, it would create a discrepancy, but since you are going for the extremely simplified experience...

    Been using it on Mac for a while and it is awesome!!! Best and most intuitive 3d modeling software I've ever used.

    • @khariodub8182
      @khariodub8182 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      How do you control the software on the Mac? I only use shaper3d on my ipad pro and pencil but am curious on how to use with the Mac before i buy one.

    • @AlainSainz
      @AlainSainz 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@khariodub8182 I believe you can use it before you buy it. Its very intuitive and the controls are easy to learn. For sure I know that it is a lot easier to navigate and use it on the ipad because thats what I used first, but then I got rid of the ipad and had to switch over to Mac to keep using Shaper3D.
      You use a combination of mouse, shift and control to navigate and move the model around. Its just a matter of getting used to the controls.

    • @khariodub8182

      @@AlainSainz thanks for the info. Are there any key deferences in the software between the ipad and Mac? Any features on the Mac that the iPad do not have?

    • @AlainSainz
      @AlainSainz 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@khariodub8182 not that I have found, but it is a lot easier when it comes to importing files or browsing for files in the Mac environment because of the file browser being so limited on the ipad. Other than that I think they're the same. Again, using the pen and fingers is so much easier on ipad lol, but if you only have a Mac this is a great solution.

    WARNING ⚠️ Shapr3D requires the Big Sur update on Mac, I lost all my data and had to do a fresh install and still won’t install the update properly. Just a warning for anyone considering shapr who hasn’t upgraded to Big Sur yet, please back up all your files. I lost 10 hours trying to fix my computer and the next day reinstalling files, fonts, printers etc etc. I’ll stick to using shapr on the iPad.

    • @Shapr3d
      @Shapr3d  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, we have stopped supporting older systems than Big Sur since April 2021. I am not sure what has happened there, please feel free to contact us at support@shapr3d.com if something is unclear :)

    • @lizamarks6874
      @lizamarks6874 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had Catalina installed on my Mac, I went to download Shapr3D and it said it required Big Sur. I tried to install Big Sur, Big Sur wouldn’t install properly and I ended up having to wipe my disk and go back to using Catalina. My point is, Shapr3D can’t be run on Catalina. If you haven’t upgraded to Big Sur back up all your files before you do.

    • @eliasjewelrydesign
      @eliasjewelrydesign 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Shapr3dch) It’s hard to explain to non-jewelers, but to put it simply, tools for ring use, for stones (so you dont have to draw the stone from scratetc... Please look up TH-cam videos about jewelry design softwares on TH-cam. This would really be a whole new development of new tools, but I think it’d be worth it for you because SO many of us use 3Design Software from GravoTech but dont like it because while they say they are Mac compatible, there’s always problem working with that software on a Mac. So much so that I just bought a Windows desktop (arriving tomorrow) only to use it with 3Design to design jewelry. I havent worked on Windows in 12 years, I dont like it at all

      Shapr3D Shapr3D A wrap function would be huge as trying to put a design around a ring with project is hard to avoid unwanted distortion. If I could project an image onto a flat “bar” to cut out and then be able to “bend” that piece into a ring or if I could make a ring and then be able to have a function that would show me the surface of the ring as a flat field that could be sketched on to transfer and wrap a design evenly that could then be cut into it through the ring. A parts library to save elements and easily drag them in to the design. I really miss the scale icon that was part of the positioning tool gizmo as I’m often just tweaking position and size and now have to go from the positioning tool to the scale tool and back repeatedly, I’d love it if that little scale tool icon was added back in. A tool to evenly distributing a shape or hole along an edge or line would be very helpful in laying out the holes for stones and also as a way to make what is called “milgrain” which is a tiny beaded edge usually around stone settings you see in a lot in antique jewelry (a google search will show you what I mean. There are lots of jewelry specific tools that Matrix Gold and 3Design have that you could reference but may be too specialized but could be worked into shapr3d in a more general way, things like laying out stones (holes for them) evenly over a surface for what is called pave setting or easily making a line of stones with prongs for a specific size and being able to edit them all at once could possibly be done in a way to make them more applicable for general use. Currently I have make my own “cutters” that are the shape and size of a diamond profile that I can cut out a hole for a diamond in a curved surface but I’m mostly doing this by eye, if there were a way I could line this up easier that would be epic. If you take a look at a couple of the videos of these apps I mentioned you will get a better idea of some of what I’m talking about that may not be clear. Shaper has been so helpful in our jewelry workflow for creating settings for non standard sized stones, I’m training an employee on it now! Thanks team! Love the app and can’t wait to continue to grow with it! Happy to answer any jewelry related questions!
