The uptempo clapity clap music really makes me understand how easy and convenient this consumer product is.
This is by far I think the most interesting Shapr3D demo showing how well direct modeling works with it.

Oh my God, the software is easy!!! I wish some 3d professional designer looked at this to leave his opinion. But from what I just saw - I just want to say to the programmers who worked on it - THANK YOU!
I said no. wireframe is so wrong, cost uv map will be messed up, havenot talk about many things like how many tris in the object would be in waste. This is just simulation for good view, cannot be used in 3d model, don't even think about profession.

i think u conflated and limited "parametric" with being able to specify values first time not considering what happens thereafter.

Yeah, I don't need to draft the complete geometry of a solid with one hand and in 3 steps. I need to define a ton of measurable geometric relations and constraints and then be able to go back, find the exact one and edit it in 1 or 2 steps. The old clunky solidworks menu at least does that consistently, newer cad programs don't seem to get that.

@@alvarodiaz2221 perhaps you are not considering the creative aspect of the design, Mister Díaz. It seems quite cumbersome defining prototypes and design possibilities in a entire parametric drawing.
I have always wondered why something like this has not been in existence alongside PC CAD softwares. Damn!!!
BTW, we use portable devices (pads, tablets, phones etc) more often than workstations don't we

This is a really fantastic software I've ever seen. When I was younger and I worked as a goldsmith I used to project my jewels by Rhinoceros but this is much more better and rapid

I’d agree - it’s super slick and enjoyable for concept sketching. Depending on what you need it for, you MIGHT be able to use it as your only 3d tool, but it’s not going to provide the range of functionality of the professional desktop apps any time soon.

Currently, the application does not support Surface Pro and hopefully will be supported in the near future. Shapr3d only supports Apple pencil compatible iPads. Thank you for your understanding.

You need an Active stylus, with a different digitizer..android tablets mostly don't support an active stylus, except for a small handful

Haven't used it, but from we can see he doesn't use the 2 things anything in design actually needs: variables and equations. Yeah he built this rather complex looking thing really fast, but he kind of just dragged and dropped and pulled and turned until looked right. Unless this has that feature, then I just look like a parade pisser
Real casting parts need time to calculate gd&t,stack-up and machining allowence ..I guess it's just for asthetic purpose..

Who is this app for? It’s definitely not made to replace professional CAD software but I don’t see how the average consumer will need it either. However since its CAD style modelling, artists probably won’t be using it either.

Yes, you can dimension everything. It is a parametric CAD.

I can't say since haven't used it, how many tools it has as compared to others such as solid works, creo, inventor...
But certainly later are easier and have their own specialties(ex. In creo you can load freaking huge assembly with huge number of parts)

Stability probably not. I mean it’s an iPad app. Plus, the way they modify surfaces screws up and dimensional accuracy anyways...
You can set body, sketch dimensions and parameters by tapping on the dimension label which becomes visible when making any adjustment operation on the object or when drawing the sketch.

I was missing a lot of precision when watching this. Seemed like a lot of unconstrained variables and I’m not sure how little nuances would be handled. Definitely interested to see more though. Maybe like multi-part assemblies and how it handles that

I saw him entering values on what looked like a pop-up calculator. I think the values that were critical he entered exact values others were just lining things to and centering so it seemed as accurate as needed.

Cool if your doing design doodles, but I bet for actual product or mechanical design it is less than impressive.
Shapr3d works great for product and mechanical designs. You can have your design completely modeled within Shapr3d and then export for 3d printing or post-processing.

No it's not...there is no poly flow and full of angons. Which is literally worthless model. This software could be just replace of autocad like software. Actually modeling is way beyond.

Do you really wanna design on a phone? There are rarely any good Android tablets. Barely anyone buys them. Also not sure it can run ok the soc since a12x is insanely fast

the A12X KILLS every processor on the planet. i'm not an apple fan. it's just that the a12x almost has the same performance as a laptop CPU. check the benchmarks! numbers aren't everything. a dual core can be much faster than a 10 core CPU. single core scores matter more usually
