    Biggest reason to get the S23 over last year's S22 is the battery. The improved chipset and battery life are a huge plus. I've just upgraded from an S8 and couldn't be happier.

    I have been using the S23 just over a week now. This is my first flagship phone, before this i only used budgets and midrangers, my previous phone was Oppo A92. So far the S23 doesn't disappoint me. Eventhough it has smaller battery than Oppo A92 (3900mAh vs 5000mAh) it's able to last a whole day. Plus, i always wanted a capable compact phone

I definitely miss that headphone jack with the Quad DAC and the 2TB expandable storage, but it was fun while it lasted... Samsung definitely didn't disappoint me even though it is missing some of things from the LG V60, but it has been a far more superior device than I thought! I've hesitated to replace my Pixel 5 because new phones these days are too big. But when I learned the s23 was basically the same size as the Pixel 5 and has better hardware than the Pixel 7, I knew it would be the perfect phone for me. I am a big S series fan! I just upgraded from s7 to s23. What people don't realize is you can save battery by what you download to your phone and what you turn off when not in use. For instant: Turn off bluetooth and location when not in use. when I install a program I go into the setting and turn off the background data usage and battery usage. It runs smooth and I love it!

      s23 is my second s series. I had s10e for a couple of month, but it must've been a faulty phone. It had constant lagging issue, camera malfunction and heating issue. a3 2017 which I still use is amazing though, apart from the fact it hasn't enough space for number of apps I use, and some apps don't even work on the phone anymore. Battery is still impressive, internet works fine, Google pay is slow but works - it's still great as a spare. And that's the main reason I've decided to give samsung another shot. I hope this phone is as good as people say.

    Coming from Samsung Note 10 Lite with Exynos SOC, and Samsung ditched it on the current line of flagship phones, this is a huge upgrade for me. I bought this phone at a discounted price like roughly 25% off from its original price because of their trade-in program which is still available as of this writing. This phone is my very first flagship phone, and it is lovely to use one hand and it lasts me the whole day or more than 8 hours of mixed usage despite the 3900 mAh battery. One point about the SOC is that it is an overclocked SD 8 Gen 2. I got the 256/8 variant by the way. Overall worth the money spent.

    I'm from South Korea and people in Korea usually buy flagship smartphones. We still have large volume of sales on S series. And iphone pro series.. We also have some demand in A series, but our main selling area is always on smartphones which cost over $700~800. I think people from other countries are not that sensitive to some features that non-flagship smartphones do not offer.,

I also like how straight forward design is and seems like the OS is easy to understand and learn. I don't mind the "lack of color" since I put a protective cover with a fun design anyway. Otterbox covers are awesome! I am looking forward to using this new phone that is not too complex to operate.

    My S23 (base version) just arrived a couple of days ago. This is my first flagship phone, so I had some wild expectations. For context, I'm coming from a Realme 8. In short, the S23 blew me away and exceeded all my expectations (I'd done a fair amount of research beforehand, so I wasn't completely a noob). First few things I noticed:
    - The snappiness of...everything. Anything you do on this phone feels instant, moving through settings, taking pictures, opening and closing apps. I'd never used 120hz displays before (max I used was 90hz), so it should be from that. But damn, to me, the 90hz - 120hz difference was MASSIVE, let alone a 60hz - 120hz leap
    - So many extra customization settings that I use on the daily. Display screen mode, 85% battery cap, the absolutely instant fingerprint sensor that's still fascinating to use a couple of days layer, more advanced edge panel, the modes and routines, and so many more
    - Optimized features that exist on other non-flagship phones that work so much better and are more crisp. The instant NFC recognition of my Yubikey, the perfect adaptive brightness option that actually works perfectly and I don't have to keep it on manual
    - The Samsung companion apps (camera assistant, one hand operation+) that add more usability and helpful elements for me. I messed with a setting in Developer Mode to shorten the opening/closing animations for apps and now everything is even faster
    The camera quality is also much better than on my Realme 8, but that was to be expected. The portrait mode astounds me, as I'd never had it on a phone before. To me, the S23 was well worth its money (around $660)
    This "review" is a bit skewed since this is my first flagship phone but damn. A flagship really is a flagship, I guess.

    What about hidden specs that people don't really talk about? Things like speaker quality, colour reproduction of the screen as opposed to just the resolution or refresh rate, longevity of the internals and the cooling system? I remember the days of the nexus 4 and 5 which had all these flagship specs but they skimmed on these "hidden specs" and the quality of the internals. Most nexus phones broke down within 2 years. That's my concern with the mid range phones. I'm worried that they cut corners on things that aren't listed on the spec sheet. It would be good to have more reviews online that look into these things.

    I've always had the S series. I came from the S6 to the S20 5G. And it was indeed a massive upgrade. 120Hz (but not adaptive) and 5G (but not over all radio bands). But it had eSim, dualsim, memory card (I bought a 1TB one).
    Now I have had to replace the S20 because the display gave up and have decided on the A54. Why? Because in everyday life it no longer makes any difference whether I have an A54 or an S23. But I just needed the memory card expansion.
    So: apart from Samsung Dex and the lack of 4K 60fps support, the A54 can do everything about as well as an S23 - even if the performance is more on the S20 level. But that's totally fine: Games run smoothly in the highest resolution & the camera takes at least as good pictures as the S23 during the day. And otherwise the A54 has everything premium: 120Hz adaptive, full 5lG, memory card, eSim, OneUI, over 1000 nits in sunshine, screen recorder, NFC, full 5 years of support, Gorilla Glass on the front and back, etc. So why should I buy me an S23? I would only have to do without the memory card. In everyday life, the A54 is fast enough - there are enough comparisons here on TH-cam where you can see that. Whether I sometimes need 1/2 second more for loading is completely irrelevant. The only important thing is that it can do everything without jerking. Screw the benchmarks that don't reflect everyday life. Gone are the days of big leaps in every next generation and there has never been more premium from Samsung than the A54. I'm sure many see it the way I do. And that's the reason for Samsung's success with the A series.

      Been rocking pixels since the P1. Finally gaveSamsunganother chance. Last Samsung phonewas the s3. This phone is much better than pixel phones on every level. And you can actually use it with no problem. Upgraded from the P5 and this is the jont. If you download Good lock and look at a lot of tips and tricks videos, you can literally set this s23 up to look and work just like a pixel. Everything from the settings menu layout and color customization on every single part of the phone. Bixby is not a feature that is used for me on this phone a lot. But you can set up things like answering a call with Bixby text which is very similar to call screening. You can also talk back and forth with the person before answering. And the phone is the exact same size as the P5 for a size reference. Also get the 256 gb because it has faster storage speeds. Swiftkey keyboard is also the best option and you canvl really customize it to whatever you need it to do. Just takes a lil getting use to. Pixel has probably lost me as a user. Their phones look almost childish (as far a the screen quality and brightness) and compared to these s23s. And you can fully customize it with good lock. This phone made me realize that Pixel has been slacking and giving us the bare minimum all these years. Eye hope this helps coming from an all pixel user. (House is filled with about 8 nest minis, google wifi and extender, pixelbook go 4k, google TV with chrome chromecast on all tvs) and switching over to the Samsung ecosystem might be my next option. They've been putting out quality for some time now!

And it will reboot and then it needs to be restarted a few times before it starts working correctly. There really is no comparison. Pixel experience me over the Galaxy experience any day lol. Being a DJ/producer/Singer and not having now playing on my phone has been a horrible experience. Love my S23! It's been an amazing phone for me. Everything has worked great! Had a Pixel 5 didn't like the pixel 7 for how much larger it was and wanted that compact phone still. Didn't like Samsung because they burned me in the past. But decided to give them a chance again. I don't regret it at all. My only complaint is I wish the charging speed was faster. But other than that. It's been a great phone!

    I've been using the s20fe and was planning on getting another 2 years out of it at the very least, but it's developed the green line of death so I'm looking to upgrade. I'm strongly considering the s23 as the ultra is waaaay too expensive and the s23 still has the top end chipset. For me it's between that and the pixel 7

    • @zytoses9223
      @zytoses9223 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think the s23 and pixel 7 are completely different leagues of each other at least in price, power and battery efficiency. I heard the pixels tensor isn't quite on par with what qualcomm offer but the price is attractive so might be worth comparing specs of both before splashing. I personally went with the s23 256gb and am happy with it. my mate had the pixel 6 pro and just complained about it all the time but he does abuse his phones so.

    • @Ubernewb111
      @Ubernewb111 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @zytoses9223 Well I wanted to stay away from pixel because my buddy got the 6 pro and had nothing but software issues with it. It seems they fixed those problems since and the 7 doesn't have the same issues.
      But yes, the 7 and s23 are two very different phones. The processor on the s23 is definitely better than the 7, tho the 7 will still work fine for anyone that isn't running super demanding applications. Also the s23s screen is better all around as well as the camera system (imo) if it wasn't for the price difference, it would be a no-brainer which one to get

    I actually got the s23 Ultra about a month or two ago. This Ultra is the first phone I've gotten since 9th grade (2016 or so) that wasn't an iPhone. The last Samsung phone I had was a $20 promotional one for Cricket Wireless around that timeframe, and after that, I got the iPhone 5s, then 6s, then XR, then finally the 12 Pro Max. I would have gotten an iPhone 16 Pro Max next year if my husband hadn't convinced me to switch to Samsung. We went over to BestBuy to look at the display phones and I got to mess around with the s23, s23+, and the s23 Ultra. I loved the Ultra the most for its size, shape, and the fact that it has the curved vertical edges that Samsung is famous for, which I have never gotten to experience. The S-Pen is also something that sold me, since I loved my iPad and the Apple Pencil where I could write things down instead of typing (I love writing), and I also love to doodle and draw.
    I also already have a high-speed charging wall brick, and my s23 Ultra goes from 5% to 100% in about an hour and 40 minutes or so, and one single charge will last me about a day and a half. I play 7DS: Grand Cross and I run the highest performance so that does knock my battery down a little bit but not nearly as bad as my 12 Pro Max. If I'm using my phone minimally (such as the average workday) the phone will easily last over two days on a full charge.
    I love it. The only downside is that iMessage isn't updated and uses outdated messaging (MMS) when communicating with Android phones. That's largely a USA issue, though, since WhatsApp is popular in other areas of the world which eliminates that issue.

      @nadeemjohnson6204 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ayetadios6469 There is a massive performance difference between the 8 Gen 2 and 778G chips. All modern day flagship features are available on the S23. 4k video at 60fps, Full HD at 120fps. Gaming at max settings with no lag and my device doesn't heat up. The A52s was amazing, it is still as performant as a lot of mid rangers this year. Hell it is even faster than an IPhone 11 / 12 based on my personal tests as I have used all devices.
      Overall, the S23 is a great investment if you want the flagship experience. In my opinion, go for it.

    Because of the LACK of SD card support I ended up buying a new S20FE unlocked on Amazon for $450 for use with T-Mobile about 5mths ago. It's now running the latest Android 13 minus a few features the S23 has but am quite happy with the S20FE. In spite of the chipset difference the S20FE is very peppy and handles everything I can throw at it and is really not that much slower than the S23 when run side-by-side with a friends phone. I do not take many pictures so camera quality is a mute point for me and battery life is actually better on the S20FE as well. When you stack the two together $450 (even less today) vs. $1200+ the S20FE is PLENTY for almost everyone at a significant savings of CASH!
    The SD storage is MOST important for me as streaming music over cellular just KILLS a battery in no time with a weak cellular signal and streaming off an SD card consumes FAR LESS power and generates FAR less heat and can listen to music ALL day at work and still last almost 2days before charging! The S23 stands NO CHANCE here as WELL at over double the price! Unless your making PROFESSIONAL video do you really need cameras with such high specs?? With the lack of SD storage a 1TB S23 cost is absolutely RIDICULOUS! I love Samsung but NO longer have a desire for their "FLAGSHIP" models anymore at these prices! For video and music storage 512GB is NOT enough and this is where SD storage really shines!
