The battery optimisation on s23 is really great. The battery life of s23 comes really close to that of the a54 even with it having a way higher battery capacity. The battery optimisation on the s23 is no joke.
Exynos use Samsung's chip fab. Samsung save money by not going to TSMC for their Snapdragon chip fab. But Samsung's chip fab "5nm" or whatever is inferior to similar Snapdragon. Exynos is inferior but cheaper as Samsung make it in house.
I switched from the S20 5G to the A54 5G. Why? 1. The A54 is about as fast as the S20 - fast enough for everyday use. 2. I need the eSim/Dualsim function while using my 1TB memory card - no S model offers this. 3. The differences are becoming less and less important for normal use in everyday life - just 3 years ago everything that the A54 offers would have been absolutely premium & the development has now progressed so far that you hardly notice the advantages of an S23. Display, games, applications & even the camera, everything runs smoothly & leads to good results. And if it sometimes takes half a second longer to load or start an application, who cares? 4. There really isn't anything annoying or cheap-looking about the A54's performance in everyday use. 5. The advantages of the S-Class are actually only the following: - Samsung Dex - USB OTG 3.1 - wireless charging - slightly faster when launching the applications ...but there is no memory card slot. Conclusion: the differences in everyday life are negligible for 95% of users - and do not justify a price difference of several $100 and there was never more premium in the A-class la with the A54. As simple as that.
Excellent summary. Samsung knows the difference between low and high end is rapidly shrinking. It's one reason why they've discontinued the A7x series .. there won't be a A74, there's no longer any room.
This was an incredibly helpful review. I am looking for a Samsung phone that has a memory card slot AND wireless charging, so it doesn't seem that is possible?
@@pedroduran8927 Never say never... Thats what they've been doing because most people prefer bigger screens so they think it wont sell, like the iPhone Minis. 6'1 is not even that small, its the iPhone regular size. I believe it's going to happen sooner than we think.
If they added 7 gen 2 it would be bonchus! Anyway ordered it as a secomdary device of S23 ultra. For the software mainly. Otherwise oneplus have much better device in this price.😮
The thicker bezels on A54 was one of the biggest reasons why I got the s23. Considering you got enough to spend, s23 is the best buy because it does feel premium and looks a lot better
Thick bezels never really bothered me and I don't think it's a major flaw for most people. Imo these phones look just as good and even if it bothers some people, I find a minor difference in looks being the deciding factor when buying a phone simply weird.
Thank you for the great comparison, I believe that there is a huge difference in the cameras especially, but also the overall performance and build quality, flagship is a flagship, it also preserves its price for reselling as a used phone, I believe that S23 is still worth the money who can afford it.
I have an S 23 Ultra. Yes a better phone than the standard S23, but I brought an A54 for my kid, and I must admit I'm still impressed by the A54. If I were just shopping for a standard S23, I would certainly just go for the A54 and save that extra money.
I got the A54 from Samsung and picked it up at Best Buy. With my A20 in trade I paid $249. One caveat. In order to use wired earbuds you must get a Samsung compatible dongle. Mine was 12.99 on Amazon. Overall really good phone for my usage.
Any specific issues with it?? Looking into getting it after using an iPhone XS Max for almost 5 years. But I’ve just heard people mention that it’s not fast enough and that it randomly shuts off and restarts at times
@@ManSeriouslyWTFS23 wipes the floor with A54 simply because of the chipset and cameras. Better to wait for the S23 FE that's gonna launch later this year, if that disappoints then go for the S23.
I'm thinking about getting the a54 the prize was definitely a lot lower compared to the s23 show that is a good phone cuz now I have the S10 I wanted something similar to what I have because I do love this phone but my phone is not lasting famosa batteries going on it
I'm all for the A54 on this one. Very good point of having 90% of the features while having 50% of the S23's price. Thank you very much for that great comparison video. My only concern in the long run is will the A54's Exynos 1380 chip be able to keep up through all those 4 OS updates? I've been using the Huawei Mate 20 Pro (released Oct 2018) since early 2019 and I'm starting to feel it slowing down but not to the point that it's unbearable. Is this the sign for me to get the A54? 😅
Dont worry about exynos... umm if you are not that typical gamer person... I am using Galaxy A51 the time when they claim to given 3 yrs of Android Upgrades... and I am using android 13... Yes flagships will get earlier but hey.... you are getting it... Android 12 is the time when I faced most bugs... but that was Android 12's fault not Samsung.... Android 13 with One UI 5.1 in that old Exynos 9611 is the smoothest experience I ever felt.... And Samsung doesn't degrade camera quality via updates.... I will say I am satisfied with Samsung completely 😌
Before you couldn't even think about comparing a flagship to a mid range phone but now you can compare them, and yes I know it's not fair but the idea of comparing them is mind-blowing
8 Gen 2 is far, far better than the Exynos 1380. The 1380 struggles to compare with the Snap 865, which is now 3 years old and the 8 Gen 2 almost blows 865 out of the water. The chip set makes a huge difference in literally everything, including camera performance.
Not only are they being compared, but "you get 90% of the flagship, for half the price" is being thrown around a lot too. You can definitely argue performance is better on the flagship, but on an average day it really does not matter (unless you use dex or something and need that performance, at which point you might consider buying a laptop)
Hi, I am coming in from the UK, I have always had samsung mobiles and I have to say my new A54 5G is without doubt the best phone I have ever had and I usually like to have the top phone. But this one is more than adequate for my uses. Great phone, well done samsung once again. 10 out of 10.👍👍
Great Video..Changed my thoughts about A54 by comparing it with S23..specially that line “you get 90% of features at half a price”..I used to thought it does not make sense to buy A54 over A34 as A34 costs around 10k less in India & processor performance of both phones is almost same, design is hardly distinctive from backside..so thought was why Samsung launched it at some extra premium.. but this comparison review changed total perspective..Thanks for Sharing !!
So why is A54 a better buy then A34? I don't follow... The only difference is A54 has better camera than A34, right? One could easly compare A34 to S23 just as much as A54 to S23.
@@blade1989222 A54 has adaptive frame rate which helps with battery saving. Exynos processor which is very efficient and consumes very less battery. That U drop in A34 looks bad. Both are good for daily task but A34 shines for gaming but not everyone play games on phone.
@@princekushwaha381A34 is literally a lot more value for your money..... yeah I do believe Samsung put the notch in to boost A54's sales but if you just get over the looks factor there really isn't any reason to buy the A54. If you want to go over 35k the OnePlus 11R or Samsung's own S21 FE are much better options. In fact, the S21 FE is available at ₹30k in sales. Definitely a lot more value for money than either of these phones.
Just bought the international version of the Samsung a54 on Amazon UK. 8GB Ram and 128GB storage. Brand new. White variant. $252! Best value phone I have bought in 20 years. Unbelievable for the money. Nothing beats this for what you get. Makes the Pixel 7A look overpriced especially when you consider that this Samsung has a far, far better display than my pixel 7a as well as much better speakers and the batteries don't even compare. My pixel 7 has one of the worst batteries I have ever used. Build quality of the Samsung far superior too. This A54 is a great phone.
I think the A series did well with the exynos 1380 that is an equivalent of the older snapdragon 778g. Exynos to me has provided better battery life and it has only a good performance, sadly I doubt samsung will ever make exynos reach the flagship levels just because they had to make it not powerful enough for people to buy the flagships. I am using the oneplus 11 and the snapdragon 8 gen 2 still feels like it eats up the battery even though it was said to be more efficient through normal use. I am thinking of going back to the A series just because they are great all around phones, but the price is always a bit higher than other midrangers that are on par or even better than the previous A series phones.
It depends on how OnePlus optimize their software battery and chip prime example LG g8x with a 4000 vs the s20 fe I gotten which has a 4500 battery you would think it gets better battery life even with 5g disable and running 60hz g8x gets 8-12 hours of sot on wifi depending how you use it I was barely getting a solid 8 on fe
Only reason I would go with the s23 is the small size, love the a54 but it's such a brick! On the other end what keeps me from the s2x phones is the small battery size with slow 25w charging, not paying almost a grand for a battery that small it's ridiculous.
I mean you shouldnt honestly be scared abt battery life cuz the battery optimisation is crazyyyy on the s23 series. Like seriously on the s23 with the optimisation its like a 5000 mAh battery, almost like the a54. The sd8g2 really did a good Job this year 👏
@@ej2305yes, but it's still about 90% as good as the a54 even with the optimisations, I agree that keeping that beast of a processor powered like that and keeping the battery at that level is a valid achievement. But it just fails to convince me that it's better overall. It's the size that is really driving me towards the s23, if only it had an SD card slot :(
@yash-us2mp You know it's intriguing that you ask me that now. My A52 5G has worked flawlessly like new until just recently, now it has been running slow sometimes like it almost freezes for a second or two, or sometimes things won't load at all and I'll have to back out then perform the action again for it to work. It still runs good most of the time but has been having hiccups lately that it never had before. I thought it was just my phone, but are you having issues with A52? It might be caused from a recent software update 🤔
Battery, Camera, and Performance is top notch in S23. Thanks to SD 8 Gen 2, There is no comparison at all between these two. S23 is a clear winner in all aspects.
@@chazzlidell1492 why are you comparing pound for pound. That way iPhone 6s is better than iPhone 14 pro max. And all the affordable phones are better. Considering the price, I said, there is no comparison between these two. Looking at the feature aspects, S23 ti better and that's the case.
The S23 just feels that much more substantial in hand and I'd gladly pay the premium for that. If I'm using it for 2 years the difference is basically nothing over the duration.
@@armyofninjas9055 He means if you use it for 2 years (which makes it roughly 700 days of usage) it would cost you 50 cents a day more compared to the A54. But there's so many deals on phones you can easily find an s23 priced pretty close to an A54.

Great comparison as always. Your videos are awesome, which covers almost everything. I got s23 plus in feb. A54 was launched later. Actually, i wanted A74, but damn samsung isn't gonna release 7 series anymore. Had to go with s series this time. Mine last phone was A71, which is still rock solid and working great. Honestly, I don't feel much of a difference between my s23 plus and A54.
I think the only reason I will go with the s23 is gaming and the telephoto lens. I am a sucker for clicking night sky pics, especially the moon. But otherwise, the a54 seems worth for a majority of the people
Actually I returned my s23, and I'm sticking to my a54 for now. Camera wasn't that much of an improvement, only in the dark but during the day the a54 was better in some circumstances. And for gaming the s23 was to small for my liking. Yes it opened the apps a bit faster so there's that
Regarding the processor in the A54... another reviewer mentioned that after playing games for an hour or so, with settings set on high.. there was no issue with heat. The A54 does a great job..
My partner has an S23+ and we recently got an A14 5G as a freebie from T-Mobile. Aside from Dex and the slower overall pace of the phone, it was hard to tell them apart. It’s even hard to tell apart in photos compared against my iPhone 14+. If this is Samsungs idea of cheap phones, please go on. The 54 looks pretty alright too, nothing special either way.
I got the s23 and Samsung earbuds together for 540 euros through my carrier. My mum needed a new phone and I recommended the a54 to her. We're both happy with our purchase :)

Some people though might undermine the benefit of longevity of flagship chipsets. I've owned an S21+ which is my first time handling a flagship and after 2 years I am not really convinced replacing it because of how well it performs. It's like new. Yes midrange phones are "90%" of a flagship when brand new but when OS updates, bloat and memory fill up a phone, over time that "small stutter" just grows and grows into something more noticeable that you just have that itch again to buy a new phone after a year or two. I hope that changes soon with midrange phones as well.
А54 also has a lot of competition from the other brands.... And comparing a midrange Exynos chip to a flagship snapdragon is a massacre... S23 is smother, much better optimized than any Exynos will ever be, all cameras are of course better....I don't know, double the price is never double the performance, but that doesn't mean that doble the price is not worth it for the extra performance.
Got my A54 due to my Galaxy Note 20 ultra cracked screen, tradein got me 205$ off so it was a No brainer and I love this phone, the battery life is So worth as well. no more Flagship 1k plus phones for me
You you might get system updates for many years to come, however, without the higher efficiency processor in a year or two the performance doesn’t feel as good running the system, and that’s a big difference. If you use the phone for one year or two, you can go for a cheaper one if you use it for more than two years a better processor is required for a quality experience.
That’s fair 😅 it’s weird they made the bezels bigger this year on the A54
ปีที่แล้ว +1
I played with A54 yesterday and coming from Xiaomi Mi11i it's ok. I thought that bezels would bother me but in the end were ok. Considering what is offered on A54 I strongly consider it now for my next phone though I would very much love to get S23
i think if you get the white or lime phone which are lighter, the bezels would look thinner (tested it out by myself, i have a white a54 and the bezels on the black one seemed so much worse)
I have the S23 and A52s, and honestly, the cheaper one would have been enough for me. The only thing that convinces me about the S23 is the size. It's a pity there are no mid-rangers in the 6" dimensions. The development of phones has kind of stalled, and manufacturers don't really have much to convince us with for the flagships. Apple clearly segregates models by crudely cutting out some features. Samsung has taken a different route, offering most features but slightly weaker. As a customer, I prefer Samsung's approach, and if the next one in the A series comes in a smaller size, I'll definitely take it. :)
I really liked my Huawei a few years ago that was only 5.5 in. Now that I have a 6.4in device it feels too big at all times to use comfortably. Size matters!
I feel forced to go for the expensive s23 just because of the smaller size. I dont need the faster processor. It almost seems like Samsung knows we want smaller phones thus theyre low key forcing us to spend a fortune. Pretty rediculous if you ask me
As a Pixel owner for me, the most important feature would be processor. All mid to high tier phones have great camera etc but the problem with the Pixel is the processor. They over heat when recording more than a few minutes or on a video call. I wonder how the processor on the A series ages
I have a Pixel too, and I am planning to move away from the Google line up until they ditch the Exynos based Soc for their own in-house one, as rumored to happen in a few years. I have never had a Samsung phone, so I might go with one of those in the coming 6 months or so.
Bleeding edge isn't advancing as quickly as the rapid advancement at the lower end. The squeeze is on and Samsung knows it. It's the reason why A7x ends with the A73.
Something I feel this video doesn't talk about enough is longevity. While yes, both phones will technically be supported for the same amount of time, I guarantee you the snapdragon chip on the s23 is going to hold up better than the exynos on the a54. The a54 might feel like it's near the s23's level right now, but later down the line, when both phones have aged, that exynos chip is going to drag the entire experience down while the snapdragon is going to hold up much better.
My current phone is an 8yr old galaxy J7 prime running android 8.1. I just ordered the A54 for $450 it will be here next week. Since there will be 4 software updates and 5yrs of security updates it should last me at least another 8yrs. I dont need a phone every 2yrs. If I keep the A54 for 8yrs that averages out to about $55 per year for the cost of the phone
I've spent a lot of money on flagship Samsung phones since the S3 came out, and I had a habit of breaking them. I finally grew up and managed to keep the same one for several years, the Note 9. After 5 years it started having issues though. Performance, battery life, and especially "burn in" on the OLED screen. I was planning on getting a Fold but they never got an internal S Pen option, and I got to thinking, do I need all the new flashy stuff? I basically just wanted my Note 9 again, and the a54 is the same size screen, bigger battery, equally powerful chip, even better aesthetics. The only drawbacks are the less scratch resistant screen, lower resolution (I always had battery saver on so it was 1070p anyway) and no notification LEDs. For 1/4 the price it's money well spent. I've had it about 3 months now and unless Samsung does something incredible with the flagship S or Z series, or neuters the mid range A series, I don't think I'll ever spend that much again.
Holy crap the algorithm did you dirty You popped up and I realized I haven't watched a videos yours in a while But then I realize like you don't really do much phone videos again? Main reason I started watching you😊
The way I see it, if I’m going to be using a phone for 5 years, then it’s not actually that much more expensive to buy a $1000 phone than a $400 phone. It’s only $10 more per month, which is a fair price to pay for everything to be *good* instead of *fine*. And then in year 5, when the cheaper phone’s starting to really struggle, the more expensive phone will still be working pretty well. Obviously the $400 phone is a great value for people on a tight budget. If $10 extra a month is a big deal for you, a way to cut that off and get a perfectly usable phone is a valuable option to have. But if you can *afford* the better phone, it really doesn’t make sense to compromise on something you’re going to use for multiple hours every single day of your life.
that's assuming you make the phone last 5 years also even flagships have a dip in performance after the 3 year mark no matter how well you take care of them.
@epic1053 I just upgraded from an iPhone XR (2018) to a Z Fold 4 (2022) earlier this month. Didn't upgrade to a current year phone because I wanted to try a fold but wasn't willing to drop $1800 on trying one out, got last year's in mediocre condition for $625. And you wanna know what the biggest improvements were that I saw on my new phone? The battery lasts longer and I don't need to own any lightning charges anymore. Is the performance better? Yeah. Do I notice that in day to day activities? No, my XR was plenty fast for 95% of what I did. I don't plan to keep my new phone for 5 years like I did for my last one. I just don't expect a fold to physically hold up that long. But in terms of raw power? It's got plenty to last that long, if I had gotten a non-folding flagship I would be happy to run it until the updates stopped
@@sparky6757 You're leaving out the possibility of you damaging/losing the phone or someone stealing it from you. Haha you say it like it's highly doubtful the S23 ultra won't be the best amongst all Samsung's lineup 😂. No need to say "trust me". The S series lineup alone says it all, let alone the ultra branding.
I have upgraded from the A52s to the S23 plus... Tbh, the A52s was a beast of a phone, and if I'm honest, I cant really see a difference performance wise... The A52s is probably buck for buck, the best phone Samsung have ever made

@raasiaboobacker9957 I don't chase/count those numbers, but at least 10 hours straight. I don't really care about better specs. I owned so many iPhone too and nope, I didn't like them. Calling that an "upgrade" doesn't right since we are in 2 different worlds Android and IOS. I just don't see any persuasion for me to spend $1500 on an iPhone 14 Pro Max. The phone is huge and long. Battery is not strong enough and there you go, iPhone 15 is on the way in 2 months 🤣🤣🤣
You can tell the s23 apart from the a54 because of the location of the flash. On the s23 the flash is located directly to the right of top lens while on the a54 it's between the top and middle lenses.
A lot of the value difference depends on HOW you are purchasing your phone. I have a T-Mobile contract, and with trading in my previous Galaxy, there was no savings in taking the A54 vs, the (standard) S23. Not a gamer, I would have been perfectly satisfied with the A54, but have to say that the S23 is just a pleasure to use.
I have an S23 Ultra, and I honestly can't say I fully utilize the 8 Gen 2. It is nice to have that power, but it probably isn't 100% necessary. The S Pen and cameras on this phone are incredible, though!
@@TechDaily We definitely will. Performance isn't improving like it did in the early days of smartphones. The fact that Apple is already doing it speaks volumes.
@@planetminecraft411 It makes sense for Apple products honestly. Samsung is trying to be innovative but in certain areas, they aren't being very innovative. Of course, cameras are important but that's not the only thing people care about. It's the phone's durability, and the things it has that will look appealing to the general public. As Wade pointed out, I'm shocked Samsung hasn't changed their display on their flagships but I guess it's since they're so good that they don't need fixing. As the saying goes, don't fix what already works.
I used to have the same thought like you since back in the day with Note 10. From the time I owned that Note 10 until the day I sold it, I probably used the Spen less than 3 times. Haha.

4 years ago I got an LG G8s for $400, closest thing to a flagship, 3 good lenses, premium materials, good display and good haptics for a circular vibration motor. Sadly that phone had to be replaced and I was looking at that $400 price range and I got extremely disappointed, there is no new phone today at $400 that outperforms my 4 years old phone, I really wanted the a54 because of the Samsung support and all but I tested it and it was an overall downgrade from my 4 years old phone ! The only thing the a54 is better at is the screen brightness and refresh rate, that's it... Bought the S23 and couldn't be happier. Overall the experience is the same, the apps open up just as fast as on my old phone, only in heavy multitasking usage the s23 beats the hell out of the G8s and the cameras are just gorgeous, the LG records mindblowing steady 4k 60fps vids while the a54's 4k 30 fps footage is ughhh... despite having OIS, 4k recording kills that phone, the s23 on the other hand is a big step up from the LG in terms of video recording, the 4k 60 is stunning. The a54 is a great phone overall, don't get me wrong, if you're coming from a midrange you'll be pleased, or no? Asus launched back in 2016 the Zenfone 3, a midrange with a pretty slow Snapdragon 625 chip for today's standards but that phone is capable of 4k 30 fps, the videos are similarly steady to the A54... so no big deal with the a54 camera :\ The A54 is a good phone but not for people who love taking pictures/videos and play games. The price difference is worth it, fully ! The s23 rewards the users with a better feel in the hand, awesome haptics, great camera integration in social apps, iphone-level feel, from the screen to body ratio, to the uniform bezel, the size, the weight, the responsiveness. The S23 is totally worth it and the rather small 3900mAh battery holds up like a champ, it's a shame the 5000mAh A54 gets roughly the same SoT as the S23 despite the slower performance. Now I know I might have pissed off a lot of people but the A54 really isn't that bad of a phone, it's awesome, Samsung has the most stable phones from the entire android market, at work I have a galaxy a12 and despite being cheap af it never crashed on me, never ! Very reliable phones, never had calling issues with samsung or absurd network issues like other 'big' brands had/have. Probably and sadly, the A54 is the best $400 new phone money could buy. In Europe the S23 is the first S series worth buying in many years because of the Snapdragon chip.
Superb review of these two devices. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. I'm in the market for a new phone, and was looking at the A53 to upgrade from my last generation LG. Alas, they have left the smartphone arena - the last iteration was a bit of a let-down - and I had to look elsewhere. I'm not a power user, so don't need the bleeding edge performance of a flagship device, but still don't want to end up with a budget device on par with a Kindle Fire in the performance category. I've seen the A53 in action - good screen, decent camera, and snappy enough performance. So, if the A54 is even better, with the prospect of 4 years of updates and 5 of security support, well, it's a no-brainer! Over here in the UK, it can be had for less than £20 a month with unlimited everything, including no upfront cost for the device.
I've been looking at an A-series to upgrade from my S8+, but the one crucial feature that Samsung refuses to port down to the A-series is wireless charging. I almost exclusively use wireless charging unless I'm at school or in my car (using android auto), so I'll either have to keep waiting, or just bite the bullet and upgrade to a newer S-series phone.
Why not just wait a couple months and get the s23 when it goes on sale and we know there will be sales. There's always sales with Samsung phones about 3 months into it
samsung galaxy series and apple iphone versions comparings. the samsung wins by about 15% margin with important criterias such as- scroll quality. brightness quality. luxury design quality. battery quality. higher grade screen quality.
I bought the S23 yesterday, and I'm getting it tomorrow. I got it because I wanted a more compact phone, and I'm coming from a budget phone, so this will be a huge upgrade for me. I didn't go with the A54, because the bezels were kinda big compared to the S23. I also did not want an Exynos chip, because I heard a lot of bad stuff about it. I'm really looking forward to this phone!!! Hopefully it'll last me at least 3 years. 🙂
The S23 has a couple of things going for it for me. Wireless charging and being smaller. I want something smaller than my Note 20 Ultra. I will be getting an A54 because it has an SD slot, does everything I need it to, and costs about half as much. The S-series not having an SD card is a deal breaker for me.
I was one to say that sd card is something to keep in mind while looking for new phones, but everything now is online, people should really get used go working with cloud storage because once you want to take the card out put it aside for a minute, lose it, or dip it in a water accident along with your precious phone you'll find out you casually forgot to transfer all files to computer. Im truly in favor of SD cards, headphone jacks and more. But having such a potentially great chipset? This is coming from someone using old phones for too long and seeing the difference with finally buying a phone to keep.
I’d still go for the S23, I’ve owned A series and I’ll never go back to them, currently have an S23 Ultra. The A54 is good if you don’t have the money to buy the S23, but that’s pretty much it, plus those bezels on the A54 look horrible.
@@joseadorno292 you said someone who doesnt have the money for the s23. That means somebody who can't afford it. I said that people also buy the a54 because they don't need an expensive phone, but they could buy it if they wanted to. There's a difference.
@@joseadorno292you are 100% right! Going for the s23 over the a54 is an investment. You won’t need do upgrade very soon and the experience will be really good.
@@JH-CarbonI still stand by what I said. The A series is a budget phone regardless of what he says, the S22 or S21 FE is still a way better deal in my eyes for around the same price, so most people that purchase an A54 is because they're on a budget which is perfectly fine!
I traded my a53 into at&t for a $800 credit for the s23. I like this phone it gives you a polished experience. If you want a good price phone for social media a54 if you want best specs in a premium case s23 (especially if you can get a trade in deal)
The battery optimisation on s23 is really great. The battery life of s23 comes really close to that of the a54 even with it having a way higher battery capacity. The battery optimisation on the s23 is no joke.
You better bet the chip is way more efficient in the 23 as well. Exynos chips make no sense, they consume alot of power, overheat and choke.
@@steveguy3 they excel at their fridges though
More competition the better. Let exynos cook 🍳
Exynos use Samsung's chip fab. Samsung save money by not going to TSMC for their Snapdragon chip fab. But Samsung's chip fab "5nm" or whatever is inferior to similar Snapdragon. Exynos is inferior but cheaper as Samsung make it in house.
@NOODLESTHATEXPLODE$5k for a fridge?👀😳
5. The advantages of the S-Class are actually only the following:
- Samsung Dex
- USB OTG 3.1
- wireless charging
- slightly faster when launching the applications
...but there is no memory card slot.
@@Susan1937Fisher ...unfortunately this is one of the limitations of the A54. It has no wireless charging.

The dream come true would be a compact (6'1) A54.
Correct not too big as 6"6 and not too small as 6"1
they will never do that, compact size is only for flagship phones
@@pedroduran8927 Never say never... Thats what they've been doing because most people prefer bigger screens so they think it wont sell, like the iPhone Minis. 6'1 is not even that small, its the iPhone regular size. I believe it's going to happen sooner than we think.
Samsung did a good job with the A54 this year. I truly mean that.
I still like the S23 better though since it's more complete.

Thats why I’m avoiding A series
oh my gawd the a54 has thicker bezels, cry more, youre a grown ass man, enjoy your stupid ahh phone that's literally the same as a54
Thank you for the great comparison, I believe that there is a huge difference in the cameras especially, but also the overall performance and build quality, flagship is a flagship, it also preserves its price for reselling as a used phone, I believe that S23 is still worth the money who can afford it.
I think the A54 will probably be Samsung's best seller..just like all the A series phones are NOW. I like the color options of the A54 better.
I agree! I think the A54 is going to do so well in the US especially
Kind of wish there was a blue version
are you serious? the colours are ugly af
Turns out it was the A14. People went even cheaper
Bruh… s23 better than A54 in screen , cameras , performance, quality, build …
@@ManSeriouslyWTFS23 wipes the floor with A54 simply because of the chipset and cameras. Better to wait for the S23 FE that's gonna launch later this year, if that disappoints then go for the S23.
I'm thinking about getting the a54 the prize was definitely a lot lower compared to the s23 show that is a good phone cuz now I have the S10 I wanted something similar to what I have because I do love this phone but my phone is not lasting famosa batteries going on it

I like the fact " it's not better twice as much , the A54 is 90 percent as good "
I'm all for the A54 on this one.
@@jatinsahoo458 nice! Good to know. Thank you for that. ✌️
Wow ur Huawei phone is sure very durable , 2019 till now 2023 , 4 years already .
Also using A51 with Android 13. No complaints. Will probably upgrade next year.
Same here, I’m still using my Mate 20 Pro bought in 2019
Before you couldn't even think about comparing a flagship to a mid range phone but now you can compare them, and yes I know it's not fair but the idea of comparing them is mind-blowing

The oneplus 11 can be efficient, but it depends on what settings you choose and the type of apps you run. I have oneplus 11, and I get 10-11 hours SOT
I just love the compact size of the S23. However, I do like the bigger bezels at the A54. I don't know why, but I just kinda like bezels. 😅
Im surprised the bigger device wasnt s series... I missed when things are getting small again..

@@justnaturalcake1when your hands are small, one cm makes a difference. Already with the s23 I have difficulty holding with one hand.

You you might get system updates for many years to come, however, without the higher efficiency processor in a year or two the performance doesn’t feel as good running the system, and that’s a big difference. If you use the phone for one year or two, you can go for a cheaper one if you use it for more than two years a better processor is required for a quality experience.
The a54 has been improved so much that Samsung killed off the a70 series!
Switched from a50 to a54... both great phones for the price
The bezel situation alone makes me want to buy the S23 instead, or anything else at the A54's price.
That’s fair 😅 it’s weird they made the bezels bigger this year on the A54
I played with A54 yesterday and coming from Xiaomi Mi11i it's ok. I thought that bezels would bother me but in the end were ok. Considering what is offered on A54 I strongly consider it now for my next phone though I would very much love to get S23
i think if you get the white or lime phone which are lighter, the bezels would look thinner (tested it out by myself, i have a white a54 and the bezels on the black one seemed so much worse)
also a transparent case would help since you re gonna let the white to be seen
@@dinim7148 Looking thinner doesn't mean being thinner.

Holy crap the algorithm did you dirty
You popped up and I realized I haven't watched a videos yours in a while
But then I realize like you don't really do much phone videos again?
Yes power will hold up I was mostly refering to the battery which for alot of people once a phone crosses the year or second year mark they may no longer have to battery to last a day - though this depends heavily on your usage. Someone who has alot of downtime at work might not even be able to make a brand new phone battery last their shift.
@@sparky6757
Also iphone battery is better quality and degrades less you will be very lucky to get 4 years of good usage out of a Samsung.
I have my old S10 I use it as a spare and it doesn't even have half the battery it originally had.
The battery was good for the first 2 years.
The battery was ok for the year after.
After that the battery sucked.
@@sparky6757 There's a reason iphones sell for more then samsung despite having less features, the build quality is alot better.
5 years out of a iphone is alot more feasible then a samsung.
I have the s23 ultra and trust me it's way better than my old a53 I gave to my mother and the a54 however I miss the micro SD card but I discovered an adapter for that
Haha you say it like it's highly doubtful the S23 ultra won't be the best amongst all Samsung's lineup 😂. No need to say "trust me". The S series lineup alone says it all, let alone the ultra branding.
if the s23u sucked, samsung would be broke by now.
Excuse me, are you using vivid or natural display mode on galaxy devices?
My Galaxy note 10 lite is dying slowly, I was into buying iphone se3 or 11, but man this A54 is looking great.
Both the s23 and a54 are really good, but what I don't like on the a54 is that it has exynos 1380 while the s23 has snapdragon 8 gen 2 for galaxy
I think Samsung should just rebrand the Galaxy A50 series to just simply the S2X Lite Series lineup. This may actually boost sales for them as well.
The FE is the Lite version of the S2X series.
Very accurate real world analysis ❤
I got the Samsung a54 5g and it's good.
I have upgraded from the A52s to the S23 plus... Tbh, the A52s was a beast of a phone, and if I'm honest, I cant really see a difference performance wise... The A52s is probably buck for buck, the best phone Samsung have ever made
How's the one hand usability on the S23+? I'm thinking the S23+ is just a tad too big, and the vanilla S23 is too small at 6.1.. The screen size of the A52s is perfect tbh
@@jahnecarma9332I'm coming from a bigger phone and recently switched to the s23 and honestly it feels so nice in the hand, I kinda don't wanna put a case on it
My greatest gripe…I have small hands! I would get the s23 just because of the size. If only they made a smaller A54.
Which would be better to get, this a54 or the s21 fe?
In need of some advice! Should I go for an S21 Ultra or an A54 with a watch? Same prices, but not sure how much of a lesser phone id be getting with the A54
Get the A 54 great phone 📱
I am going to switch from the iPhone 12 to the a54 phone so this would be a great choice for a upgrade. Much better specs too.
I used iPhone 12 and now have the A54. The Samsung A54 is a win win all day long
@@hien8505how much screen o time do u get for a 100% charge??
@raasiaboobacker9957 I don't chase/count those numbers, but at least 10 hours straight. I don't really care about better specs. I owned so many iPhone too and nope, I didn't like them. Calling that an "upgrade" doesn't right since we are in 2 different worlds Android and IOS. I just don't see any persuasion for me to spend $1500 on an iPhone 14 Pro Max. The phone is huge and long. Battery is not strong enough and there you go, iPhone 15 is on the way in 2 months 🤣🤣🤣
The iphone 12 is a lot better than a54
Where did you get the wallpapers from, they look nice
i've always heard that the S series will have longer updates compared to the A series
Not true any longer
The S Pen + Cameras definitely make it worth it! Honestly I think we’ll soon see 2-year processor release cycles. Apple is already doing it 🙃
@@TechDaily We definitely will.
Haha.
what is the a54 wallpaper btw would really want to know?
In Australia $600 for the a54 and s23 $1349.00
It's more than half the price. Is it really worth it. I'm on a s21fe and thinking of going to a54! Any thoughts?
The a54 is great if your budget is lower, but the s23 is faster and brighter with better materials.
Yeah, for some reason the A54 still feels kind of plasticky even though it’s glass?
@TechDaily I think it's their "glastic" material, with the plastic and glass fused together. It's the feeling of plastic and the properties of glass. I could be wrong though.
@@ItsBuuild I believe this one is not glastic but glass
Good, I'm excited. My A 53 5g showed up warped but I continued to use it for a little over a year. But now it's began to warp even more. So I needed a new equally capable phone on budget and I think the 54 5g was a smart move. This video helped me not be nervous with my expectations. Thank you.
one review pointed it out and now i cant unsee:
the A54 has a reflective ring around the hole punch camera
and that maakes it so much more of an eyesore and a reminder of "fuck you for paying half"
and to that I have to say
Fuck you Samsung
Can I have the links to the wallpapers
I love A54, it was the best all around phone for it price.
All I want is a compact mid-range phone
It’s crazy that Samsung dropped their really high resolution screens they still had on the s10 and s20
You had to switch to fhd to use 120hz anyways
@@dirtydirtsgt4751 actually the ultra the pixel 7 pro have high resolution screen do 120hrz. They reason why Samsung did that is to force u to buy the ultra version if u want the best screen with 120hrz. Same reason they have in their none pro nobles plastic backs and not glass back to force u to buy the ultra. It's purely greed.
@@djarthurlooby i beleive it has something to do with the bitrate or whatever of the screen not being high enough
And A54 even has glassback this year now. All s23 series also have the same mateials
@@dirtydirtsgt4751 but the screen thing really is an excuse. Ultra has pixel 7 pro has it. Again if u want high resolution u have to fork up the money for it with the S10 all models had it. U got more value for ur money. But Samsung has turned in to apple. And yes this year Samsung has finally up the devices. But u basically had the most packed in my opinion the best Samsung device the 10 that really had everything well minus the 120 and 5G what actually did get added in a later model. Anyway all devices that came after the 10 series really have missing features. What is a shame.
for me. after the oneui 6 december update it has gotton very smooth and i think its an amazing device. loving my a54 so far
Can you please suggest which will be best for daily vlog ? 54 or 23 ?
Asus launched back in 2016 the Zenfone 3, a midrange with a pretty slow Snapdragon 625 chip for today's standards but that phone is capable of 4k 30 fps, the videos are similarly steady to the A54... so no big deal with the a54 camera :\
The A54 is a good phone but not for people who love taking pictures/videos and play games.
I have A54 can you tell from where did you downloaded this wallpaper?
where did you get the wallpaper? btw nice video! this inspires me to buy the s23!^^
You have sold me on the A54. It's more than good enough for me.
When i bought my flagship phone i never went back lol games play way more smoother especially if you play something like genshin impact
Thanks bro as always for the comparisons. What's the names for your wallpapers?
Great video the s23 + is better but the a54 is a great improvement from the a53.Can you do a review of the a34 v a54
Yes! That’ll be next 👍
Get an S20FE
Why not just wait a couple months and get the s23 when it goes on sale and we know there will be sales. There's always sales with Samsung phones about 3 months into it
Exactly
samsung galaxy series and apple iphone versions comparings.
the samsung wins by about 15% margin with important criterias such as-
scroll quality.
brightness quality.
luxury design quality.
battery quality.
higher grade screen quality.
Thanks for the comparison.. it was really helpful
Alors qu'en penses-tu ?
The benchmark score of A54 5G is even lower than my A52s 5G which was launched in 2021... 😂
In my opinion was A54 because much better than S23 not only price battery camera big screen Absolutely A54 it is time of year 20/23 in my view 😊🎉#-?
GJ Wade!
A54 vs S21 FE very soon! pls!
People also buy it because they don't need an expensive phone. And, to me, the bezels are fine...
@@JH-Carbon that's why I said that for someone on a budget it's good...
