    thank-you for the video, have just received my WSDCAM Bike Alarm, which am getting ready for when I receive my Amp'd Bros Fat electric bike the Ace - X Demon...
    Have already paid for it, getting the lights and alarm system ready for when it comes, literally can't wait to install this alarm on the bike itself.....have already tried it out with arming then slightly moving it, and oh boy is it LOUD, had to quickly turn it off, am grateful that I've brought this, in conjunction with the Abus U Lock and chain with another lock in total, am safe to say that my e-bike will be secure.
    Also by arming the alarm when I go into the caravan at night, it would alert me to anyone hanging around the bike at night....thank-you once again for the video, showing how to change the settings and volume. A great bike you have there as well.

    Your video appeared on my...whatever-it's-called. I'm a lowly bicycle rider on a 30+ yr. old Mountain Road Bike*. Intrigued by the Alarm Topic, I ventured in & learned said Alarm is not restricted to electric bikes; Oh no: there are no Laws, Statutes, Ordinances against purchasing one of these Alarms for use on a Bicycle, or even a Motorcycle. So I daringly bought one.
    Note: Insomuch as this young Electric Bike Only man's video is now 3 yrs. old, please note that a newer Model of the same Alarm is now available.
    *Mountain Bike that I've adapted for Road Riding. (I'm also updating another 30+ yr. old Mountain Bike for Trail Riding) Took up cycling here recently...after 56/57 years; driving since I was 15 yrs. old...and I LOVE IT! Low impact, but high intensity. Belt tightened a notch (soon to be two). No "brain fog" as one must needs make many, "snap" decisions & execute immediately. Sleep like a baby. Eat like a horse (high fiber, high protein). Cycling also helps the "boy parts" (think, old man...numerous nocturnal #1 trips to the bathroom) greatly.

    I purchased a similar alarm with a ulock alarm. So the security is greatly modified. But I still think it is important to have a visual on your bike to minimize theft. But if you absolutely don't want your bike stolen, don't bring it unless you right next to it at all times, or you making short trips to the store.
    Another thing to look out for is parts. Someone with a simple tool as a screwdriver, pliers or adjustable wrench can take whatever they want on your bike, like mirrors, handlebars, seat, ect.
    I have been researching various ways to secure these sections. They are triangle and star screws that most people are not aware of. But getting the right screw or bolt fitting is challenging, but it is definitely worth the effort.

    • @kimhyunwoo8983
      @kimhyunwoo8983 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you’re extremely worried you could just weld the parts to the bike, or do what I did, I built a triangle box that fits in the frame and mounted most of the expensive stuff in there then have a lock on it. I’ve also air tagged both the bike and my battery separately so if someone stole either I’d immediately know where they went

    • @briansmith8898
      @briansmith8898 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Exactly. A determined thief *WILL* steal your bike, no matter how secure you make it, short of hiring armed guards or something. Most thieves are looking for the easiest score, though, so making your bike harder to steal will pay dividends. Locking the frame with a u-lock, the wheels with a cable, and attaching an alarm will deter almost anyone. If your saddle has a quick release, attach a smaller cable for that, or consider just taking it off and throwing it in your bag. For e-bikes, lock the battery, or take it with you.

    Get a U-lock that is at least 18mm thick like the Kryptonite fahgettaboudit mini, this lock cannot be removed with a bolt cutter, but the other most important thing is an alarm that can TEXT you when the bike is disturbed so that you can get to it before anything can happen, time is the most critical factor.

    This setup might save the day if you nipped into the convenience store for couple minutes and you are within earshot otherwise it will be gone. Insurance works , locks mostly don't. The lock is there to by you some time only. An expensive e-bike should not be left unguarded. Once cordless grinders came on the scene, no one has a chance, so try to stay with the bike at all times. What do you think the purpose of a bicycle is? Some people use it For exercise. Some people use it for transportation. Some use it for both. I use my E bike for transportation and to ride with my friends sometimes. The friend stuff is partially social, part exercise.
      My electric bike goes nowhere unless I peddle it. It’s “pedal assist“. Weighs about 75 pounds usually with my two panniers, two locks and whatever else I’m carrying. It can carry over 100 pounds plus myself.
      If the purpose of your bike is so you can wear Lycra and everyone can know how fit you are, then, yeah, an ebike would defeat that purpose. If you’re trying to get some exercise and use your car less., Pollute the Earth less, maybe just sell your car, then an E bike might make a lot of sense for you.
