Brilliant work! What really makes this impressive is the natural movement and how the tool perfectly mimics the operators motion. Not to mention it doesn't require a multi-million dollar computer to do so. There is beauty in simplicity and this is a work of art.
1. It is 8mm needle driver. So none of the standard Laparoscopic ports can be used for this. So a separate port has to be used/ created to use it. 2. It is still to be FDA approved in 2023. Means it'll still take time to reach many countries where most of the laparoscopic surgeons are working. 3. Cost of this product has not yet been revealed, so how many Laparoscopic surgeons would love to buy it 4. This is available only for needle holder. Rather if they can make it with other instruments, then it's going to be very useful. Coz just for one needle holder, the wrist band which controls the needle holder has to be worn throughout the surgery. And in case the surgery doesn't mandate suturing, then it becomes tedious wearing it whole time. I'm waiting for this technology to come up for all other instruments as well.. Would be very happy to use them coz most of my patients can not afford robotic, but they can afford laparoscopic surgeries. Request your company to expedite the process.
I'm in paeds surgery, malaysia. When i first saw this video, i was so giddy with excitement. Marvelled on the dexterity of robotics but its unreachable for my setting. This is so much more practical for a centre who already spent so much on conventional laparoscopy setup to advance to. Please bring this to Malaysia!
I've been watching this since my last year in training and its been 6 yrs ive been a surgeon probably 100's of views of this video are by my suggesions and sharing , yet this technology hasn't seen the light of OT light in reality

When will michanics and Millwrights see similar tools but with end effector fittings. Would save dozens of hours tearing a big machine apart just to get at a small part deep inside.

Please upload videos of live surgeries done with Flexdex. Need to be tested in Pelvic surgeries like prostatectomy .Bridges the gap between conventional laparoscopy and robotic surgery .In nutshell this appears like a lowcost poor mans Davinci.Im sure it will reach allover the world at all levels of health care
