Would it be possible to have a video explaining how you apply a bike fit to the planning of a bike build in BikeCAD / a custom bike build? There doesn't seem to be an authoritative piece on this relationship and I'd like to know how this is done. It would also explain to me why getting a bike fit is considered essential.
@@cobraframebuilding No worries. Maybe that would be a great video idea for you; talking with a fitter and how to match the fit to the build. I'll watch that in a heartbeat :) Stay safe and keep on keeping on.
I'm sure you could design at least part of it in Bike CAD. BCAD isn't the best tool for every use, and I think the best reason to use it is if you're building bicycles, especially if you do so regularly.
Hey , is there a Software for Frame Builders that use Lugs ? As far as I know there is no easy way to use the Lug Angles to create the Frame in BikeCad! There is a workaround in BikeCad but this is not very practical
You know, I didn't really know about Rattle CAD when I bought Bike CAD and haven't ever had a reason to mess with it. I don't know just how much you can do with Rattle CAD and maybe it's worth consideration too, but definitely Bike CAD has plenty to offer and I've been really happy to have such highly developed, framebuilding-specific software with great service.
Seriously, is that all it does? It's something less than a CAD program then. Design is about new elements, not just existing ones. Can you build a trike? Can you design something unique? Can you model a wheel easily? No?? Don't want it. USELESS to an inventor. Only good for a frame builder like yourself.
Yeah, I think that’s exactly its strength. Framebuilders who want to streamline their process need tools tailored to their workflow. It’s very feature rich for someone who makes custom diamond frame bikes, and wants to nail the design every time without wasting a bunch of time. I gather this isn’t the tool for you and what you care to do, but I would argue it’s way better than other CAD if you’re a framebuilder making diamond frames. Which is what the videos on this channel are about.
Thanks so much for this video Joe! Your channel is awesome.
And thanks to you for making a great tool and standing by it. You have helped so many framebuilders to build better bikes, more easily.
your humility and open approach to learning and teaching makes your videos really great to watch and learn from. Thanks for sharing.
Great video. Keep on crushing it in 2019

I agree that would be interesting, but I don't have the expertise to make that.

Bit of a silly question, but would it be possible to design a prewar motorcycle frame in bikecad? I mean, they are basically bycicles.

is this useful for BMX frame?
More cool info..... thanks
Nice vid. What are you thoughts on Rattle Cad?

Clemintine looks a little small for a 55cm
In 7005 Al square tubing, non butted
Can anyone replicate an Iron Horse Yakuza Kumicho for me?
Bike Cad should put you on salary. Great video!

Lame, can't do recumbents.

I'm waiting to see the Inventor program you have in the works.
YES YOU CAN WITH OTHER CAD TOOLS
