Not that anyone asked lol but, I just use Heinz reduced sugar ketchup (1 gram carb per tablespoon) mustard, worsteshire sauce, garlic/onion seasoning, Sukrin brown sugar replacement to and I'm done. I dont measure since Ive made it so much I just eyeball it. I don't like spicy so this works great for me but adding 'hotness' I'm sure is easy enough. I absolutely love this sauce and make enough to fill a squeeze bottle full. it doesnt go 'bad' and is delicious and cheap! :) it comes out to roughly 1 net gram carb per tsp.

I have a meatloaf recipe that has a similar topping recipe - ketchup, mustard powder, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and brown sugar. I'm going to try to adapt it with sukrin for a bbq sauce recipe.
I just found your channel and I must admit. I'm glad I did. I have been on my own weight loss journey for about 6 months now and I'm down 40lbs. Switching to a ketogenic lifestyle has a lot to do with it. I've gone back and watched a lot of your older videos and I happened to watch your 30k subscriber Q&A. I've used them before and was fine with them. But, compared to the others we tried, they were down the list. That said, they are a 1/4 of the price of some of our top picks!
All Day I Dream About Food has a terrific recipe for BBQ sauce that has that thick texture. It is delicious. Maybe do another BBQ sauce recipe cook off.
Ok no first of all. The control shouldnt be rated because if its not on the same level as the baby rays it wont get placed as good. So this review is a failure.

I've tried most of these. G Hughes is the only low carb BBQ sauce that I can stomach!! What's interesting is I only like it on pulled or smoked meat... I do not like how it tastes by itself. I'm more fond of Sucralose over Stevia when it comes to sauce! I'm a big fan of Allulose too so I'll have to try the Guy Gone Keto brand. To be fair you should really try these sauces on some real southern bbq ;)

Since I went Keto I've been making my own with tomato paste, apple cider vinegar, monkfruit sweetener, worcestershire, oregano, basil, salt and pepper...and because I love heat a dash of Widow's Kiss hot sauce...whoo hoo! Love your videos!
I have a couple cooking questions! Me and a lot of family members are lactose intolerant, would lactose-free milk and cheese be suitable for the keto diet? And I have a friend who is allergic to coconut, so which supplements are best for recipes? Thank you for putting so much detail into your videos! Your personality is contagious, and it’s much easier to follow a recipe with actual talking instead of just music. Considering I’m blind haha 😝
Lactose free milk is great but can get higher in carbs. Fairlife is a low one at 6 net carbs per cup. Cheese is always great! Yogurt doesn't have lactose either and keto- especially if you go low carb like Peak yogurt plain.
We've been using G Hugh's but not because we love it but because it is easy to get. I've tried 3 different homemade recipes but none of them were any better than g hugh's. I'm glad to see how they ranked compared to Sweet Baby Ray's. I'm not too keen on having to pay ten bucks for a bottle of BBQ sauce but I might have to. You'll be my hero if you find a recipe that compares to Sweet Baby Rays!

I bought the G Hughes BBQ sauce and the ketchup. I'll stay with regular of both. I'll accept the extra calories since it's not something I have every day.
I am so glad Alterna Sweets won and also not surprised, Its absolutely delicious! I have tried both the Primal Kitchen bbq sauces and honestly threw them out after one use. The walden farms one is the other I've tried and that one made it to the trash so quickly, one finger taste was all it took for me to gag lol. Sidenote: I noticed y'all did not like any of the ones sweetened with Sucralose! I've yet to try anything sweetened with it because I'm really strict with the sweeteners I use(Erythritol, Stevia, Monk Fruit only). Glad I'm not missing anything!
I have not tried many low carb BBQ sauces, but my favorite is G Hughes Hickory (and can not stand the G Hughes Honey). I bought Walden Farms once, but never got the nerve to try it! Thanks for putting time and resources into testing so many! I am definitely going to try a new BBQ sauce now!

Guys garlic sugar free BBQ sauce is by far the best BBQ sauce I've ever tried, sugar free or not. My husband is a BBQ sauce snob and eat BBQ sauce every single day and he said he loves it. Highly recommend!
I've gone through several bottles of it in the past couple of years because it's part of my go to meal. Love Guy's Garlic, its the best. I brought it to my parents to dip meatballs in once for appetizers and even though there was a non-keto option as well everyone kept going for the Guy's.
I can only find G Hughes sugar-free at my stores. Have never seen another brand of sugar-free barbecue sauce ever. The G Hughes you tried was a honey flavor I use the original and yes that's a little sweet to. I like Sweet Baby Ray's but it's got 18 carbs made with sugar even though it tastes good we're not eating it. I used to make my own but I use honey I can't use that anymore
We actually tried two of the G. Hughes sauces here - Hickory and Honey. I had previously tried the Original, and honestly had the same feelings about it as I did these... overwhelming, super fake artificial sweetener taste to me. Finding the other sauces was difficult. I don't have a Trader Joes or Whole Foods near me, so I had to order them all from Amazon. Thanks for watching and commenting!

I recently found the other flavors of G. Hughes in store. (Mesquite, Honey, Brown Sugar, Sweet & Spicy, Hickory) I don’t mind the Hickory one, I’ve never had the Honey one. I’m anxious to see if I like any of the others more. I wish they would lower the amount of Sucralose they load it with. Sweet Baby Ray’s was my favorite BBQ sauce before Keto, but it’s way too high in carbs for me. I have it on a rare occasion.
Agree with you that they just use TOOO much sucralose. As you saw, one of our top picks also has sucralose, but it doesn't taste like it at all. I've come to the conclusion that I simply cannot stand the G. Hughes sauces at all. LOL
Looks like you will need to do a home made recipe challenge for bbq sauce. The results are sad and expensive :(. Edited-Actually, I think you had a nice recipe in the past. I will have to check my recipe file.

My husband and I just watched this and LOVED every minute. First, your tester reacts to bad / yucky food like I do, so we found that amusing. I'm known for trying something and while its still in my mouth just giving my husband "side eye", which is saying "omg...no...no...no....can't do it". Backdrop on my next comment is that my husband and I did a diet a few years ago and they recommended Walden Farms Products, and the product reviews were amazing.. And, did I mention that we are foodies? Fast forward to us spending money on "everything Walden". When we were watching you taste test the Walden Farms, he and I were literally yelling at the TV...NOOOOOOO!!!! Then your collective reaction was priceless and we felt ya ... you won us over at that moment! Love your channel and will continue to watch. I have to admit I'm following more of a Paleo/Whole30, but my husband wants to do Keto. Oh btw -- I'm going to be making my own peach BBQ sauce for the ribs that I bought this weekend, which me luck.
maybe it's my unsophisticated palette but I went right to my refrig after watching the taste test and dug out my G. Hughes sugar free BBQ sauce and it was the "original" type. I still like it and it tastes OK to me, but loved your test and made a note of the good ones to try. TFS

Things just have to warm up a bit before we pull the grill out of hibernation. I'll definitely have to try the AlternaSweets now as well. Ok no first of all. The control shouldnt be rated because if its not on the same level as the baby rays it wont get placed as good. So this review is a failure.

I've tried most of these. G Hughes is the only low carb BBQ sauce that I can stomach!! What's interesting is I only like it on pulled or smoked meat... I do not like how it tastes by itself. I'm more fond of Sucralose over Stevia when it comes to sauce! I'm a big fan of Allulose too so I'll have to try the Guy Gone Keto brand. To be fair you should really try these sauces on some real southern bbq ;)

I have a couple cooking questions! Me and a lot of family members are lactose intolerant, would lactose-free milk and cheese be suitable for the keto diet? And I have a friend who is allergic to coconut, so which supplements are best for recipes?

Lactose free milk is great but can get higher in carbs. Fairlife is a low one at 6 net carbs per cup. Cheese is always great! Yogurt doesn't have lactose either and keto- especially if you go low carb like Peak yogurt plain.
We've been using G Hugh's but not because we love it but because it is easy to get. I've tried 3 different homemade recipes but none of them were any better than g hugh's. I'm glad to see how they ranked compared to Sweet Baby Ray's. I'm not too keen on having to pay ten bucks for a bottle of BBQ sauce but I might have to. You'll be my hero if you find a recipe that compares to Sweet Baby Rays!

Same, I always have it around. Sucralose is also my sweetener of choice, I find it to have the least aftertaste.

I am so glad Alterna Sweets won and also not surprised, Its absolutely delicious! I have tried both the Primal Kitchen bbq sauces and honestly threw them out after one use. The walden farms one is the other I've tried and that one made it to the trash so quickly, one finger taste was all it took for me to gag lol.
Sidenote: I noticed y'all did not like any of the ones sweetened with Sucralose! I've yet to try anything sweetened with it because I'm really strict with the sweeteners I use(Erythritol, Stevia, Monk Fruit only). Glad I'm not missing anything!

Guys garlic sugar free BBQ sauce is by far the best BBQ sauce I've ever tried, sugar free or not. My husband is a BBQ sauce snob and eat BBQ sauce every single day and he said he loves it. Highly recommend!
I've gone through several bottles of it in the past couple of years because it's part of my go to meal. Love Guy's Garlic, its the best. I brought it to my parents to dip meatballs in once for appetizers and even though there was a non-keto option as well everyone kept going for the Guy's.
I can only find G Hughes sugar-free at my stores. Have never seen another brand of sugar-free barbecue sauce ever.
The G Hughes you tried was a honey flavor I use the original and yes that's a little sweet to. I like Sweet Baby Ray's but it's got 18 carbs made with sugar even though it tastes good we're not eating it. I used to make my own but I use honey I can't use that anymore
We actually tried two of the G. Hughes sauces here - Hickory and Honey. I had previously tried the Original, and honestly had the same feelings about it as I did these... overwhelming, super fake artificial sweetener taste to me. Finding the other sauces was difficult. I don't have a Trader Joes or Whole Foods near me, so I had to order them all from Amazon. Thanks for watching and commenting!

We love BBQ but in Seattle it's pretty seasonal and not super frequent so it's a cheat day where the sauce is concerned because the meat is too expensive to ruin with sad sauce!

I recently found the other flavors of G. Hughes in store. (Mesquite, Honey, Brown Sugar, Sweet & Spicy, Hickory) I don’t mind the Hickory one, I’ve never had the Honey one. I’m anxious to see if I like any of the others more. I wish they would lower the amount of Sucralose they load it with.
Sweet Baby Ray’s was my favorite BBQ sauce before Keto, but it’s way too high in carbs for me. I have it on a rare occasion.
Agree with you that they just use TOOO much sucralose. As you saw, one of our top picks also has sucralose, but it doesn't taste like it at all. I've come to the conclusion that I simply cannot stand the G. Hughes sauces at all. LOL

My husband and I just watched this and LOVED every minute. First, your tester reacts to bad / yucky food like I do, so we found that amusing. I'm known for trying something and while its still in my mouth just giving my husband "side eye", which is saying "omg...no...no...no....can't do it". Backdrop on my next comment is that my husband and I did a diet a few years ago and they recommended Walden Farms Products, and the product reviews were amazing.. And, did I mention that we are foodies? Fast forward to us spending money on "everything Walden". When we were watching you taste test the Walden Farms, he and I were literally yelling at the TV...NOOOOOOO!!!! Then your collective reaction was priceless and we felt ya ... you won us over at that moment! Love your channel and will continue to watch. I have to admit I'm following more of a Paleo/Whole30, but my husband wants to do Keto. Oh btw -- I'm going to be making my own peach BBQ sauce for the ribs that I bought this weekend, which me luck.

maybe it's my unsophisticated palette but I went right to my refrig after watching the taste test and dug out my G. Hughes sugar free BBQ sauce and it was the "original" type. I still like it and it tastes OK to me, but loved your test and made a note of the good ones to try. TFS
