Baked Risotto I did this in one in a 5L dutch oven, I think ideally it needed to be in a bigger one with a bit more liquid, or split in half with that extra bit of liquid, but this is what fit, and it was tasty, just not quite as loose and creamy as I would have liked! 3L of stock/water with boullion etc 1kg of Arborio 1-2 Large Onion diced nice and small 4 tsp minced garlic 100g of butter/ghee Black Pepper Bring the stock to a rolling boil, add everything else in and put a lid on and in the oven for 35mins at 180 celcius :) Super simple, super easy to layer on diff flavours etc, a hint of lemon in there would be lovely I reckon!
I'm really happy you have the new stove, Nyssa. It will be a delight to watch you create all your new recipes ! You work so hard & deserve only the best. 💞🦋
I was so excited to see that you had posted a new video with your new oven. Yay!! The connection that you ordered must have fit.😊 This will be such a game changer!! I can hear in your voice that this is just so awesome, that you are getting back hours of your day. Oh my the things that we will get to see you do going forward.
I am so happy for your new stove. When I got mine a few years ago was the FIRST stove I ever had new in my 32 years of marriage. We've always bought used (nice and thankful) but to get a new one is amazing!!!
So happy for you and your family that you can make food with your new oven/stove. It still amazes what meals and baked items you made in that barbecue.
I love love love your videos. I’m here in Texas in a suburb of Dallas and your voice is so beautiful!!! Not in a weird way. lol. Your recipes are amazing and I am so hungry after watching your videos. Keep doing you!!!! You are amazing!!!!!!❤❤❤
Oh Yummm!!!! Will be watching this again and writing down the chicken ingredients. This looks like something my husband and I would enjoy. Thank you for sharing
i am super excited to see what cooking adventures await you with your new range. my dream is to have a 6 burner range and we have 4 but there are those holiday meals where i think every one really wished they had 8 burners and 2 ovens. lol
Happy dancing for your new oven. For years we cooked on my MIL avocado green (yes it was that old) stove. Worked like a charm. Then it gave up the ghost one hit summer night. Hated to see it go as it was so well built. Here’s to many years of delicious cooking (and videos) with yours😊
Oh wow Nyssa 👏👏👏 your oven, I am so happy for you & can't wait to see the creations you make.. The Rissotto and lemon chicken looked delicious 😋 and I am hungry but just had breakfast... My baked Rissotto didn't turn out like yours ☹️ not sure where I went wrong... so much looking forward to your next vlogs, time Nyssa you will master the oven 😊..
I think you really need to use far more liquid than you expect and have a nice tight fitting lid so that the liquid doesn't evaporate during cooking, I like mine a little wetter, but I was bumping the quantity in that one pot... hehe.
I'm so happy you got your Oven and I know you have to be excited. I for one do not like Paprika. Now if it's mixed in with other spices, I don't mind it so much, but just alone, no thank you. You know, some people are such smart azzes. I'm talking about the person who said, "your family must like burnt food." "Most" people call that charred, not burnt. That meal looks delicious!
I'm a big fan of the smokey paprika flavour, and I use it a lot, I know lol. But its definitely a flavour you like or you don't! and it always surprises me that I've always liked it, because it wasn't until the last few years that I've really enjoyed chillies and I still don't really like capsicum! heh, everyone is allowed an opinion, but yes, I went and looked back at the video the latest time it was mentioned and couldn't see what the issue was! I do burn things occasionally, especially bread and cakes when I was using the bbq, and I share it knowing it isn't perfect heh.
Hi Nyssa. I was watching Ozark Family Homestead last night and they mentioned your channel. They are a wonderful family and I thought it was nice that they gave you a shout out.
I've had a bit of a constant influx of subs the past day or so, I just assumed from the grocery haul videos, but that might be why, I'll have to go and see :).
Yay! The stove is up and running! So happy for you and the family! Now you can cook like you want to, but I must say you whipped up some really good meals on the bbq. Dinner looked amazing!TFS!!!❤

I’m so Happy for you! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 it’s so weird…we’re dying of the heat and humidity up here in the Northern Hemisphere and you’re trying to stay snuggly warm ….i am so trying to relate and crave a oven baked meal 😂😂😂

That meal looks absolutely delicious Nyssa. So pleased for you with your new oven especially now it’s winter there and it means less standing in the kitchen in the cold keeping a watch on everything.
Sooo happy for you to have the stove hooked up 🥳🥳🎉🎉 I am hoping to get something similar sorted out for my place, instead of the last few years cooking on a camp stove and whatever else works at the time 😂. Can you put a little something (non flammable) under that black metal grid thingy the pots stand on? Maybe even a spoon or metal coaster will do it 😜 just on that one corner nearest you should help.
Oh, that’s true, though would take it further from the heat source, a couple of people said they think the feet on the oven should be adjustable, so I’m going to get D to have a look at that for me as an easy option heh

I was wondering why you didnt put your pan of mixed veg in the oven till i realised you were standing on a mat😂 I really enjoy your videos, any excuse to sit down with a cuppa and watch you work😂 look forward to the next video❤
Hehe, I got this as a replacement to my last cushioned mat, but its kinda sucky... it shifts, it doesn't sort of grip the ground... but it looks nice in front of the oven! lol, I just have to get a good one for in front of the prep bench now!
Usually the legs on ranges pull or screw out to level the range. Have you googled it? I am stealing this recipe next time the grandkids are visiting. Quick and tasty. Plus the one loves broccoli.
I figured it was winter there because your ghee was solid. When it’s winter here in Wisconsin everything is solid…🤣🤣 This time of year is nice only because our coconut oil and butter are soft, although I prefer it below 50°F.

About every 4 weeks we get a 'food pantry/bank pile' here they're referred to as hampers :D. I think its partly because you don't know what you're going to get, so you get a 'hamper' of 'stuff' hehe for a set fee :D I do share them, but it may not have clicked as to what I was referring to :D
I would have to go back and look to answer that unequivocally, but I own more than one of the exact same board, but also, if I was going to cook the broccoli straight away then I wouldn't have an issue cutting it on the same board as the chicken if I was doing it all in order and the board wasn't sitting for any length of time :)
I am so excited for your new stove! Now you can cook more things at once! and hell with them that say things were burnt! It always looks gourmet! I have an off topic question as an American, what is the difference in passata and just a spaghetti sauce? I don't think we have passata here where I live!
Most of the young ones haven't really made much conversation about it, they know that with 20 acres they can have little self contained cabins on the property, like the new ones that we just built, or they can go elsewhere if they want to pursue other work etc. Most of them thoroughly enjoy the lifestyle, but look forward to being able to come and go if they choose I think!
I buy from Amazon generally, the inkbird one, I like this one because it’s rechargeable instead of batteries! It’s not cheap, but I’ve had the cheaper versions and they just have not held up. This is my second one of this model but the first one died due to children lol. amzn.to/3zyaDVj
Nice oven U want know yourself...cooking all those dishes and walking away from the oven instead of standing over it all the time...better for your back aswell... Want colour hopefully Green...❤❤❤ Kids can make some dishes aswell...or cookies❤❤❤
I've never really looked into the why's that people use it! other than it removes the milk solids. So for us it was one of those things we tried once the kids and D could tolerate more things (like fermented yoghurts etc) I used to make it, when butter was affordable! but now its no cheaper to make my own unless I can get butter on clearance! It definitely has a different flavour to butter, its not as creamy/well rounded, which of course makes sense when the milk solids are removed, but it is wonderful for frying in because again, those milk solids aren't in there to burn!
Hehe, its those vidaxl like temporary gazebo thingies, the bow is built into the frame work, but they only came with canvas, so we have the polycarbonate roof sheeting under the canvas to help keep it 'mostly' water proof! :D But they have that sweeping, curved look to them. They're still pretty sturdy actually, they've held up well for the price! and we'll repurpose them for other uses! But they leak, and it drives me nuts to have leaking roof in my kitchen :D. Thank you though :)

I buy from Amazon generally, the inkbird one, I like this one because it’s rechargeable instead of batteries!
It’s not cheap, but I’ve had the cheaper versions and they just have not held up. This is my second one of this model but the first one died due to children lol.

I haven’t tried any of the ‘wireless’ ones, because I think I’d get frustrated with the charging of them.

What happens when it rains and the roof leaks onto everything?
It only leaks in certain spots, buckets underneath those leak points and covers over electronics :)
I thinking of trying ghee I jus read it's good for a diabetic..

No offense intended, but as a former builder, the bow in those roof supports is concerning; glad you’re planning to deal with that.
