  • It played an important role in many young petrolheads lives. Whether it be watching the roads pass by from the comfort of the bench back seat, or from behind the wheel with your first taste of automotive freedom, this classic perfectly captures a moment in time for so many of us.

The Victor FB was the very first car broght me home from the hospital (year i was born, 1975). It was by then a 12 year old car. Memories.

That revives a memory. My mother, having recently passed her test, wrote off my father's FB Victor in exactly this colour scheme on a wet A10 north of Enfield in 1966. I was 4 and loosely placed on the front passenger seat. My mother span the car when braking and was T-boned by a fruit lorry in the inside lane. The result was that the passenger door fell off and I fell out and have a distinct memory of the car spinning, fruit on the dual carriageway and being given a Trebor mint by the nice policeman in the van who was looking after me while my mother was being stuck in an ambulance. No lasting harm done and my father upgraded to a second hand Triumph 2000 and wisely decided my mother should have her own car (Hillman Imp). Probably my earliest proper memory. I do remember seeing the back of the Victor was completely crumpled and my father telling me that i would not have been so fortunate if I had been travelling in the back.
