*I like that I can "fry" something on a whim! An oil fryer takes so much more time to clean and prepare **MyBest.Kitchen** a chore which usually kept me from frying all together. Also, the lack of needing oil to fry means that my family and I are eating healthier... while still enjoying the crispiness of fried foods.*
Very good review, thank you! We purchased this unit about 2 years ago?!? It worked very well. My wife does Tofu and we do frozen goods. She DOES use the tumbler and was a prime requisite for a later purchase as well as this initial! I think we/she used it for chestnuts (as you said). Not sure what else, I'd have to ask. One BIG problem with this unit is Quality and Longetivity. Recently we went to use it and although getting hot, no noise! Upon examination, the fan was not working and circulating....which is the whole point of convection oven! I took apart based on excellent videos on the web, but seen no issues internal. Fan was a little still/stuck, so I rotated by hand and oiled the bearing, which freed it up, but when engaged, you could hear the transformer hum, but fan still not spinning!! Parts are not readily available and if source found, by the time you add up cost and time, you're looking at being down 1-2 weeks and >$100 in parts and labor to take apart, fix, and reassemble (especially if your pay grade is high), so not worth it! So, in summary, not happy with the quality and longevity as we might have used 50-100 times over say 2 years. We are taking a chance and purchased the new XL version (previous was CM001 and looking on the net, see at least CM003, so original one appears to be an early unit and revision). We did frozen tater tots, french fries, and fish yesterday on the racks. All turned out as you would expect and excellent. Don't just hit the botton thou, follow the packaging of the food cook instructions, fyi. The fish bottom was soft while the top was crisp! I wonder if a flip is needed or something?? Will try on the next batch. So in summary, these things are worth it as do what they are intended and in short time. Quick heat up and quicker cooking than a conventional oven and without heating up your house. The cost is fairly inexpensive. We use the tumber. The only thing is the quality and longevity may be an issue and definitely was on the first one. Hope this helps.
I got mine about two years ago and it was fine I used it about two or three times a week until two months ago when the motor/fan assembly quit running and the air won’t circulate. I contacted the company and they basically told me to throw it in the trash. I still have it hopefully I can fix it
I have the newer version of this oven where they corrected a couple of things, but basically the exact same. The rotating basket can be used for some good potato wedges. Cut potato into 6 - 8 wedges (depending on size of potato). Coat with some olive, canola or avocado oil. Put some seasoning on them. Then cook them in the basket at 380 - 400 for 15 - 25 minutes (depends on thickness of wedges). They come out crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, once you get the temp and time down based on your preferred size of wedge.
I've had mine for 2 -1/2 years and love it. The door is no issue. I put mine in the dish washer and it comes out clean as a whistle. I do fine the shelf tracks a challenge, but a tooth brush is perfect for cleaning them. I don't find the the rotisserie cage very handy at all. The rotisserie itself is pretty useful.
Thanks for this video. Lots of good info. I am still plugging away at my weight loss. 82 pounds as of this morning. 18 pounds to go. Started at 255 on August 6th, shooting for 155, I am at 172.8 today. Should be done by mid-March. Be well..... and keep up the good work.
@@snowpony001 thank you...........it's been a life-long struggle for me, but I think or hope that this time I can keep it off. Have a great 2019 and best wishes to you.
@@neverstoplearning7214 Thank you.............I reached 100 pounds. But even though I knew better, I resorted to my old habits and regained about 15 pounds. I am taking that off A G A I N, as I write!
1. I use the basket, for frozen french fries, all the time - it's always been crispy and yummy. 2. I just made a stromboli, with home made dough, and it came out amazing
@Dawn Schultz thanks for you input. Frozen French fries are perfect for the basket I think the quantity placed in the basket will dictate whether they come out crispy or soft. I haven't tried a stromboli yet. Haven't had much luck with homemade dough in the power air fryer oven seems to come out dry on the outside and uncooked on the inside. What did you stuff in it and how long did you cook it? Maybe will create a video on this at some point. Thanks again for your support. 👍😀
I Made home made tortilla chips. Cut my tortilla wraps into chip slices laid on rack , sprayed then with some olive oil and when I took them out added some sea salt , little black pepper and a little parmesan cheese.. put them back in for a couple minutes and they were delicious
We use the rotating basket 2 or 3 times a week for pop-corn. It does a really great job. We add the caramel sauce after the pop-corn is cooked and has been tipped in a bowl, ready for eating. The same with buttered pop-corn, add the butter once toe pop-corn is in a bowl.
+jeromenz That's great. I haven't been able to get the popcorn to pop in the air fryer basket. What time and temp did you use to get it to work for you? I found that the oven doesn't heat up fast enough to get the kernels to pop. Did you use a specific brand of popcorn? Thanks for your comments and support.
@@YourEverydayJoe I just checked with our junior chef. He said 230*C for 10 minutes. Mmm, our AirFryer Oven only goes to 200*C. Upon further investigation, I found that he is using the rotating basket as a constraining cage in the convection oven. Lesson learned; never assume anything when the junior chef is running the kitchen. Apologies for any confusion I may have caused.
@jeromenz no worries. I was hoping that you had the secret to making popcorn in the air fryer. I have tried many different ways but couldn't quite achieve it. Thanks for the update, the search continues...😊
Just got this. I agree about the basket. It’s tedious to get food out without burning yourself. Today I made a Mexican pizza with tortilla shell for crust. I agree it doesn’t get the bottom brown but it was still tasty. I made a peach cobbler last night. It was good. You can put about a 6 inch dish in there. I would not recommend for a family but for me and my hubby it’s ok. The fries I tried in the basket were dry and not brown.
I use the rotisserie basket 3 to 4 times a week to make Chicken wings. I buy the wings frozen, put 4 to 6 wings in the basket frozen, cook for 45 minutes and they are great. Frozen french fries and frozen fish sticks work great as well.
I just got this I’ve been a couple of days ago and for the most part I really really love it I found a rotisserie thing hard to figure out at first but I figured it out and I use the fry basket to make french fries in today and I came out OK I need to experiment a little bit more… One handy thing though I keep all of the little pieces that go to the rest of the rotisserie in the rotating basket so they all say together in the chaos that is my kitchen drawer
Great videos! I use red wine vinegar to clean out the unit after every use. This cuts the little grease and spatters. This kitchen gizmo has been worth the price for us.
Hey, one request is for you to try making Crab Rangoons in the PAFO. I have made baked rangoons, but they seem to split. I would enjoy your take on this relative easy to make item. They are usually deep fried, but who wants that! Keep up the great "every day vids"!
Thank you Douglas, I have tried making them but have yet to get the recipe to where it would be good enough for myself and for my viewers. Im testing different types of wraps. Make sure to stay tuned.thanks again for the support.
I have this and over the last two years grease kept dripping down into the bottom part of it. The grease was running out onto the counter. I had to take it apart and clean the grease out. There was a lot. 10:54
You cannot change the interior light if the bulb goes as it's built into the appliance my bulb went after 6 months can't see anything cooking luckily it was still under warranty apparently it's a common fault you were lucky with yours great video thanks
Thank you for this video. I just bought this unit & did my first rotisserie 4+lb chicken. I was very disappointed because it was WAY to big to turn inside the oven & no-where in the manual's does it give size requirements/restrictions. I am going to try again but now with the understanding that size entirely matters for using this feature!
Yes Brenda, I ran into the same issue when trying to cook a 5 lb chicken. To make it fit I tied the wings and legs so that they would not scrape the sides in the rotisserie. I kept other rotisserie chicken recipes to about 4-4.5 lb Max. Still tied them so they would keep their shape. I think the sweet spot is probably 3.5 - 4 lbs.
Sliced potatoes less than 1/4 inch cook well, but need to increase time. I coat with peanut oil and spray with coconut oil half way. I know a pain but it turns out great!
I don’t know if you have M&M Meats where you are but they have bags frozen onion rings that works great in the rotisserie drum . You can’t throw in the whole bag, just half. Set the machine to French fries for 20 mins. You can spray with cooking oil but you don’t have to. They come out crispy and taste like diner style onion rings. Delicious. 🤤 PS I’m from Canada
Hi Joe! My husband gave me a big gift cert to Bed Bath and Beyond. So I went and was going to buy the Power Air oven, but they had none. They are selling Emeril’s one now, which looks identical. Just got it yesterday, so I am looking forward to watching what you do with it.
You are so right about this product I bought one and it just stopped working after a year of having it it’s a waste of your money if anyone else wants to buy that product that XL power pro is not worth the money because it’s not gonna last for you
@deborah seldon I have a couple of friends who purchased this unit from either QVC or HSN and both units failed withing 30days. Although the one I purchased was direct from TriStar and used it for almost 2 years without it failing. Not sure if the versions being sold there are manufactured at a lower standard. I have since given mine away and to my knowledge it is still operational.
I purchased mines last month and I ❤ it. The rotisserie basket is good for frozen French fries(Nathan's FF, Arby's curly fries and Checkers FF). The chicken came out juicy and delicious, pork chops were also juicy and delicious. The half racks of ribs too came out juicy. And the steak were BANGING( slang for tasting delicious), Lol. I give this product 4 ⭐. I took the 4 payment package with the free crock pot, just pay S&H for that one. I'm glad that I don't have to use oil for my favorite foods. To me it's worth it.
I rate this machine for lots of cooking .. am a live alone guy ..ive just bought my 4th 1 . other 3 I returned .thought ide give then a Cpl of years to iron out various problems … the bracket right side of the oven holds the rotisserie spindle ..3 years ago fell off . wen the it got hot the plastic expanded the retaining screws got hot and the chicken and spindle collapsed to the bottom tray .yet it kept cooking but burnt the top of the chicken ..other 2 after a few months the fan stopped working ..so maybe 4 th time lucky .. its gr8 for me and very versatile .
Tony Best thanks for the comment and detailed information. I guess I've been lucky with my unit, it's been over two years and I use it 2-3 times a week. I have only experiences minor issues but not to the extent you have. Good luck on the next one. Thanks again for your views and support.😎👍
after me complaining and putting this fault on facebook 3.. years ago .apx. I see the design has been modified for holding the spindle ..glad I waited ..
I had the same problem you did with this AF. My glass is clouded up on the inside. What type of screw driver did you use to open up to get to the glass to clean it.
Love this video! Thank you. I have purchased the Tower Vortx fryer oven! I think it’s the uk version of this! I was attracted by the rotisserie function! Ur videos are Always amazing💯 ! U sound a bit like Al-Pacino! 😁
Thanks I appreciate your support. I haven't hear that I sound like Al Pacino yet, 😂. Is it young Al as in the Godfather or Older Al as in Devil's Advocate? Either way I love Al😎👍
@@YourEverydayJoe I was thinking the Al from Heat!!! Very much like that one! The ending of the movie is sooo epic where he holds hands with a dying deniro!!!! 😍
I have had mine far a good year. Love it. But I now have oil/grease coming out of the bottom . I assume its getting inside the unit via the rotisserie holes.
I have a fireplace and a pellet stove both have glass doors they make a special paste that cleans very well and leaves a film so the next time you clean it the food or write your cooking doesn't stick to it
My mother wants one of these for Christmas but I have no clue which one (brand) to get her or what size. Have any recommendations? (She tends to make medium Sized meals the majority of the time and occasionally large sized meals for bigger family gatherings) She seems to know a decent amount about them though has never owned one, and as for me, I’ve never even heard of air fryers till recently. Watching your video gave me some good insights on what it is and if it’s worth buying so thank you :) . I also saw that even after 10 months you’re still replying to comments which is amazing. It’s nice to know that there are still some YT creators that go back to previous videos to help out and answer concerns and questions from viewers.
@Lilly Cole thanks for your question and I appreciate the kind words and support. I currently use two versions of air fryers, the first is the power air fryer oven 6 qt which I have been using for about 2 years now as you can see in many of my videos on this channel. The second which I purchased recently is the Ninja Foodi tender crisp pressure cooker combo which is a basket type air fryer which also offers steaming, pressure cooking and slow cooking. Depending on your preference and size of the meals the oven style offers a larger capacity because it uses shelves similar to a toaster oven while the basket or pan type is smaller volume although some are getting pretty large now. Something else to keep in mind is the counter space you have. The oven tends to be larger in width while the pan style may be taller for the same volume size. Hope this helps. 😊
Thank you @YourEverydayJoe it did help, and thank you so much for replying and providing that extra information as well rather than just the name of the product. I also subscribed after watching a few of your cooking videos. Keep up the amazing work and thank you again for responding! :)
I used the unit most days & working fine. Loaded racks in to use again and no power light. Checked outlet, checked connection, no power light. Can't use the oven without the starting point power light.
Thanks for the info.Hiw long have you had the unit? Have you reached out to TriStar or the retailer where you purchase it to get it repaired it replaced?
Attention to all who experienced failure of oven...... Mine stopped working after 6months I found that holding door up would make it work So THE FIX IS...get some uv weld($6.00) And add a layer to the top of door in the middle, where it pushes up the pressure switch. Hope ya understand.!!! Mine is perfect again and working for over a year now 👌👍Good luck ✌🏻
Thanks for the fix idea Jo. I havent need to do this yet after 2 years of use but will keep it in mind for the future. Thanks again for the support and info.👍😎
Thanks for all this info! How do things like crescent rolls, biscuits, garlic bread or pretzels fare in this model? To protect the door from those splatters you mentioned, could you put up a screen of aluminum foil around the inside of the door?? I was thinking of purchasing this model, thank you for giving your honest opinion. I really appreciate it!
Thanks for your support Flower GemsGirl. I would not advise covering the door with foil as it can hamper air flow in the oven and restrict cooling. As for crescent rolls and the type, I have made them successfully just have to adjust the temp and time as they will bake faster. Good luck in your purchase let me know which one you end up choosing.
YourEverydayJoe warm up unit first. Then Put on highest temp. Put your beans in and as soon as 1st Crack starts turn down the temp to 350-400. If 400 degrees is maximum then just leave on 400. If you like dark coffee (I like a French to Italian roast) I usually go 2 minutes into second crack but it really all depends on the beans and the humidity in your house etc. You will have to record all your times for each type of bean so you can duplicate it when you roast again.
YourEverydayJoe I get my beans from Sweet Maria’s or eBay just make sure you read reviews. I got my first batch of green coffee beans from HowellProducts (or something like that) and I got the sample pack of 8 different bean types at 1/2 pound each. It was a good variety to play with and taste.
YourEverydayJoe You will NEVER go back to store bought coffee or beans. NEVER!!!! :) I like mine French/Italian. Start with small batches until you find the roast that you like best and you will LOVE IT!!! I am excited for you! I roast about 3 cups every 6 or 7 days. Make sure you don’t roast in the house it will get Smokey! Do it in the garage! :)
Do you have a video using the fry basket? If so can you direct me to it...New to air frying mine is similar and we had issue getting it to rotate. Also is there one showing how to use rotisserie for chicken, I seen one but not how to put it together. Thanks
Thanks for the question Donna. Other than roasting nuts or frozen prepared foods like chicken nuggets and french fries I really haven't found a proper use for the basket. What I found is that the basket will take longer to cook foods due to it shielding the foods from the heat. Also as the foods sit on top of each other during the slow rotisserie turning the basket they keep the moisture in. This prevents the foods from crisping. Some people claim to have made wings in it but it has not work well for me. Hope this helps shed some light on it. Thanks again for the question and support.👍😄
I have a air fryer all so, my rotisserie basket has a lip that sticks out inside of it and flips the ingredients over as it turns, which I like. So far I like mine. GowiseUSA is the name of my air fryer. Thanks for the video.
Hi just bought one / power pair fryer 5.7 oven theirs a problem with the door not connecting to buttons at top of door unit. So control panel want dis play to get started. If you push door upwards it starts. Then cuts out again. It seems a common problem with this type of air fryer oven. Can you do a video on how to try fix this problem.
I still like the round one a bit better, so easy to clean also do you think the air fryer lid for the instant pot will perform the same as a dedicated airfryer?
The air fryer lid should function the same. You may want to get an air fryer basket that fits the instant pot. It should slightly raise the food from the base to allow the hot air to pass underneath and around.
Soak the racks if yu have nothing wide or big enough you can use a lg aluminum pan and soak them for a little while then it iwll just brush the food particle off so easy!!
Well just got mine today, excellent video ! Now I only wish I had known about the elite model ,I got it so maybe that will be my next one 😉 It’s always nice to learn tips from someone who has used the product, will be looking forward to viewing all your videos , thank you
My homemade dough baked better on the bottom when I started my baking process on the next to bottom notch, then progressively moving the food higher in the until at it cooks.
Thanks for your question Lori Ranney. I haven't tried roasting coffee...yet maybe will try it soon. Although i have tried popcorn, i let it roats for over 20 minutes in this basket but... No Go. It did not get hot enough for the kernels to pop. They just got hot and dry to the edge of burning. I'll just stick to making frsh poocorn on a paper bag in the microwave. Thanks again for your support. 👍😁
Bought this Dec2019. After 1 month of use, the air fryer started acting up. It would randomly add more cook time by itself. Returned and replacement received 3weeks after. 2nd unit failed after first try/use. The air fryer wont start after using it once. Returned iand replaced again. 3rd unit straight out of the box did not even start. Power button is frozen, nothing you can press on touch panel. Returned and replaced again. 4th unit came, same thing out of the box error “E1” displayed on the touch panel. Returned last friday and waiting for my 5th unit to come. Today is 2/22/20. Customer service was helpful though. They said they will still honor the 60day money back guarantee even though i’m out of the 60fay window due to multiple unit failures. Crossing fingers that the 5th unit that would come will last
Thanks for the info jdparas. Was this the Power Air Fryer Oven? Did you buy it direct from TriStar or at a local retailer? Wow. I probably would of given up on it after the 2nd one. Let us know how you make out. Hope the 5th is the charm. Good luck. Thanks again for you input and support.😎👍
I had this one and liked it for my needs. Now it makes a concerning sound which relates to some kind of turning mechanism (as you can tell by the sound that there's a particular repetition). I don't know what's a good equivalent though. Any one have recommendations in 2024?
I have never tried it. I currently do not own a dishwasher, but I suppose it would work ok. I have taken it apart and cleaned it. I wouldn't recommend doing that often as the screws may strip out the plastic over time. Thanks 👍😎
Yes Catherine many of the accessories such as the racks, rotisserie assembly and drip tray are all dishwasher safe. THE DOOR IS NOT. Clean the door with soapy damp towel or paper towels. Hope this helps. Thanks for the question and support.😄👍
I also found the basket to be not useful. When I used it for tater tots lots of pieces were in the bottom. French fries and tater tots great on the racks. Because I use a humidifier with hard water eventually my inner door was white. I decided to just run water through it and let it drain. Worked fine but would not do very often. Thanks for the review.
You very welcome. I think it's mainly due to the rotisserie basket seems to take longer to cook foods probably because it shields the heat. I found that cooking things like fries on the wire racks does a better job and it's faster.thanks for the support and comment.👍😊
Thanks for the question tallulah1r, i would use the racks depending on how many pieces your cooking, if they fit on one layer the racks work great. Remember when using multiple racks you may need to rotate then from top to bottom and vice versa so they crisp evenly and thoroughly. 😁👍
I cooked a steak and fries in mine last night. It smelled like steak flavored burning plastic. I used the recommended steak setting for a thick t-bone. It came out way too well done. The fries were good but I’m wondering if the fact that I had olive oil on the fries co tributes to my symptoms of food poisoning today. I’m not saying it’s the air fryers fault I got sick, who knows.. but I don’t think I could ever smell that steak burning plastic smell ever again.
I bought this air fryer last year and used it around five times. I thought that with a little practice it did a good job of cooking things like breaded chicken or steak or even seafood. Last night I was doing some french fries on the french fry setting and just before they were done there was a loud bang and the door inside glass literally exploded. A quick search of reviews had someone else have the same issue on the third use. Beware. Now I have to try and get a new door or trash an almost new machine that's useless without the door glass.
@@YourEverydayJoe I've been trying all morning but haven't gotten through. The e-mail address on their site actually belongs to an engineering company and the phone number is not working today.
Oh my i had a basket air fryer different brand...my issue was the coating teflon of basket started to bubbles.I don't want to eat bits of teflon I returned it. NOW confused which 1 to get the basket or oven but I don't want to end up without the oven door.....
@Jason Lane Thanks for the question. I believe you may be referring to the larger 8 qt or the Elite versions. The smaller 6qt version I have doesn't offer that benefit unless their engineers decided to make changes to it recently due to the complaints.
Thanks for the question Patrick Mahan. I have cooked both successfully in the power air fryer oven. Look through my playlist and see all the recipes I have tried in it. Here is the link: th-cam.com/video/KLPZGOHwwos/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for the question Belinda c , I have never taken it apart that far. Not sure if the light bulb is accessible or if it might be soldered into the fixture. Also keep in mind that the bulb may be very specific to these units. Check to see if it's still under manufacturer warranty. If so give TriStar a call. Sorry could not be more helpful. If I figure it out I will post here.
Thanks for the inquiry Darlene. I have not had this happen in the three years of using mine. Can you provide more information? What are the steps you are using temperature and time or are you using one of the preprogrammed options? I'll try to reproduce it on mine.

Thanks for the straight to the point video on this product. I bought mine cheap on Craigslist after researching and this oven covered all that I needed at the moment. Your review is spot on. I've used it once to cook chicken wings. My main purpose was the rotisserie and dehydration features. Mine didn't come with the instructions for the oven, only the recipe book. I hope I can find the instruction manual on the internet.

Yes julie Miller, I agree that using more than one rack can be problematic due to the rails being short. I do have a few video recipes on this channel where I use multiple rack, they can be used with some degree of efficiency but there is a learning curve. thanks for your comment and question.
our electric ovens stove top blew up in my face last Christmas eve. thankfully I didn't get too hurt, but I am pretty scared to even get a new oven let alone cook on it, we got a little skillet and a few months ago we got a regular oil fryer. It doesn't matter what you fry in it, its just like you feel really gross after eating it. Like your eating a lot of grease from it. I would love to win and be able to make more healthy recipes
Good vid and I must say this thing ROCKS in most cases! Now, Cooking is a hobby for me. I cure my own bacon. Smoke meat, etc....after my stove top and microwave, I must put this unit in as a solid third! I bought the XL BTW and sometimes wish it was larger. If you are in an apartment or a place that makes outdoor grilling difficult if not impossible....get this! Brats and even hamburgers are possible and the meat stays juicy and tasteful! The basket works great on frozen FFs! Keep in mind, there are TWO types of frozen FFs.....the cheap ones are just plain potatoes....the slightly more expensive ones have a coating...usually carrot juice....these will turn crispy where the uncoated inexpensive ones might come out a little mushy or overdone. I have YET to try any of the cook books that came with it....LOL!
Love the video! Thank you. We are curious as to whether the top of oven gets really hot. The spot we have for it is under cabinets. Also does the heat vent from the back?
@Carter Bechtol Thanks for the support and the question. The manufacturer suggests about 5 inches minimum of space around it and above. The unit can get pretty hot around the vents. There are vents around the bottom and directly on top where the heating element is located. There is also a vent directly behind the unit at the same height as the heating coil. Hope this answers your question. Please let me know if you need more info. Thanks again for the support.😎👍
@@YourEverydayJoe have had mine for almost a year....its around 6 inches under my cabinets. I bought a white one since i have white cabinets. My favorite thing to cook....and there are many. Tri tip roast matinated over night and use rotisserie (i have to use cooking string to tie it upso it doesnt hit top or bottom...i have 6qt) the char is amazing and juicyyyy!!!
Thanks for the additional info. I have a black version so if any discoloration is happening it blends in with the unit. My cabinets are a cherry color so again if any discoloration is happening it is blending in. I also pull the unit forward and away from the cabinets and back wall of the counter which helps it cool better. It now been over a year and a half of steady usage about 3 times a week and it's still holding up pretty well except maybe for the logo which is getting wiped out from all the cleaning. Most frozen foods cook really well in air fryers. The reason why homemade pizza dough has difficulty is because of the lower temperature 400f and the fan blowing over it. The surface dries out too fast while the insides stay raw, also you would need to flip the dough midway through and before adding toppings. I stick to my conventional oven for pizza...for now.😄
@pegschr yes it is the same style with Eric Theiss. The one I have is the original Power Air Fryer Oven which I purchased directly from the TriStar Website about 2 years ago. Thanks for the question and support.🙏😀
Hello Loretta Ford, thanks for posting here. What type of problem are you having? If you can add some details, I will do my best to help. Also what version of power air fryer are do you have?
@@YourEverydayJoe Glad I caught your video. I JUST bought the PowerAirFryer Pro, model: CM002. I, too, cannot get the rotisserie function to work. At first I thought I was putting it in wrong, but I have done it several times now, and I can't get it to work. I did cook french fries (store bought) in the basket, and they got cooked, sort of crispy, but not browned by any means. I "fell for" the buy-two-get-half-off, or something like that. The first one cost $199.96, the second cost $149.96. I bought the second one as a gift and have not opened it. I don't know whether to return these because it will cost a fortune to mail them back. I don't know what to do.
Johnna not sure if your unit may have a defect but it would think that if you contact the place where you purchase it or the manufacturer TriStar products website they may be able to help you return the defective units. If you place the rotisserie rod (the middle rod only) into the slots making sure that it sit securely, then press the preset for the rotisserie (looks like a whole chicken) does the rod rotate? Or are you having issues with setting up the meat on the rotisserie or is it the skewer accessory? If the issue is with the rotisserie not spinning than it may be a manufacturing defect and you may need to contact the retailer or place of purchase for a refund. Hope this helps.
Has anyone tried roasting coffee beans in the rotisserie basket? It sounds like it is ideally suited for coffee beans if it roasts peanuts, and I assume, other nuts.
First time veiwer here, I love my air fryer...I use it literally everyday. I have been contemplating upgrading to the air fryer oven as my current rotisserie is big ( I used to be a teenager foster mom and the rotisserie can hold a turkey- a bit much for just the 2 of us now) I ran across your site while trying to research the difference between the oven and the elite. knowing what you do about the racks and the door, if yo were purchasing one today would you go for the elite? If not, why?
@ThePrechap first off thanks for the support. So if I were to purchase a replacement for my Power Air Fryer Oven today it would most likely be the elite version or a similar one with metallic shielding and frame. Also if I could find one to hit a higher temp and more durable shelves. The elite or the power 360 may be in the running. Let me know which version you end up choosing. Thanks again.👍😊
Nice to know about the basket and pizza. I only like pizza on my grill cause it gets to 700F. Not even the house oven will do using homemade dough or even the grocery freezer pizza dough. There’s a huge difference in crust quality the higher the heat with pizza. Now, I’m thinking of reselling my air fryer as I don’t know what to use it for! I bought it at store closing, a floor model like 75%off. I may just get a new convection oven/stove for the kitchen.
@Judy dill although I have not tried it in the Power Air Fryer Oven I have seen it done by others using a tray style air fryer. Maybe I'll give it a try in a future video. Check out this video from #Kellyscookin where she does a good job with it. th-cam.com/video/JiuTqwGrHRw/w-d-xo.html
I made French fries in the rotisserie basket and love it …… Depends on how many fries you put in the basket no more than 3 cups is recommended......
*I like that I can "fry" something on a whim! An oil fryer takes so much more time to clean and prepare **MyBest.Kitchen** a chore which usually kept me from frying all together. Also, the lack of needing oil to fry means that my family and I are eating healthier... while still enjoying the crispiness of fried foods.*
yes this version has a rotisserie.
Thank you for the informative comment and we appreciate the support .😊👍
Thanks for the tip
I've had mine for 2 -1/2 years and love it. The door is no issue. I put mine in the dish washer and it comes out clean as a whistle. I do fine the shelf tracks a challenge, but a tooth brush is perfect for cleaning them. I don't find the the rotisserie cage very handy at all. The rotisserie itself is pretty useful.
Great info thanks Carl. 😎👍

Why no temp or time included for initial prep provided??
I did the same but I sprinkled mine with cinnamon sugar before popping them in the oven.
Thanks Nancy, good info.
I use the rotisserie basket 3 to 4 times a week to make Chicken wings. I buy the wings frozen, put 4 to 6 wings in the basket frozen, cook for 45 minutes and they are great. Frozen french fries and frozen fish sticks work great as well.
@Linda Galli thanks for your comments and support.👍😀
I just got this I’ve been a couple of days ago and for the most part I really really love it I found a rotisserie thing hard to figure out at first but I figured it out and I use the fry basket to make french fries in today and I came out OK I need to experiment a little bit more… One handy thing though I keep all of the little pieces that go to the rest of the rotisserie in the rotating basket so they all say together in the chaos that is my kitchen drawer
Thanks for the comment Jenny Kennedy. Keeping the accessories in the basket is a great idea. At least it has a proper use now. Thanks for the tip.😁👍
Great videos! I use red wine vinegar to clean out the unit after every use. This cuts the little grease and spatters. This kitchen gizmo has been worth the price for us.
Great Tip Douglas Tate. It has also been a very useful appliance for us. Thanks for your comment and support.😁👍
You are correct, I haven't found anyway to change it without completely dismantling it. Thanks for the comment and support.👍
Thank you. I would agree!
For the basket, I roast peppers in it. Does pretty good
@timgrov3 thanks for the suggestion. I hadn't thought of roasting peppers in it. Great idea 👍😄
Sliced potatoes less than 1/4 inch cook well, but need to increase time. I coat with peanut oil and spray with coconut oil half way. I know a pain but it turns out great!
Super useful to learn that it has plastic in the interior... just what I'm trying to avoid! Thank you
Your welcome glad it was helpful.😊👍
I don’t know if you have M&M Meats where you are but they have bags frozen onion rings that works great in the rotisserie drum . You can’t throw in the whole bag, just half. Set the machine to French fries for 20 mins. You can spray with cooking oil but you don’t have to. They come out crispy and taste like diner style onion rings. Delicious. 🤤

You are so right about this product I bought one and it just stopped working after a year of having it it’s a waste of your money if anyone else wants to buy that product that XL power pro is not worth the money because it’s not gonna last for you

This would make a great decarboxylation oven for Cannabis by using the rotisserie basket.
Ohh thats interesting!
I haven’t done it but I’d think it’s perfect for that purpose.
What is that? Like what do u get from doing that to the 🪴
@@Jmore63
Is your question why decarb?
If so, decarboxylation is necessary if you are going to make edibles or cannabis oil.
I haven't had any problems with mine. The issues that you pointed
Out seemed very nitpicky. It all comes down to personal preference.
I use mine a lot, however i find the rounded part at the back of the oven makes it awkward to fit roasting/baking tins in it.
I agree. The only size pan that I found will fit in it perfectly is a 9X9 or an 9" rounded cake pan.
Ivette Jusino Thanks for the comment. Been using mine like crazy for the past 2 years. Going to try to change it soon.
You are so correct about the wire racks
The rotating basket it perfect for fries (I tried doing them on the racks and the tops burned).

I use the wire basket to make chicken wings they come out crispy each and every time I like that feature
The round cage is great for roasting green coffee beans!!
Thanks for the suggestion. Have you roasted coffee beans? What time and temperature did you use? 👍😎
MO PrinSez thanks for the info. I prefer a dark well brewed espresso. Going to look into getting some beans and roasting them myself.👍
Nina Wade thank you for your comment and the support. 😊
We make frozen thin crust pizza in it. But it takes less than the 15 minute preset time.
@@YourEverydayJoe Thank you that really helps allot.
Word has it that it doesn't
Soak the racks if yu have nothing wide or big enough you can use a lg aluminum pan and soak them for a little while then it iwll just brush the food particle off so easy!!

Thanks for your question Lori Ranney. I haven't tried roasting coffee...yet maybe will try it soon. Although i have tried popcorn, i let it roats for over 20 minutes in this basket but... No Go. YourEverydayJoe it was an order direct from TriStar.
Need to think about another brand.
Try Frozen fries they have worked for me , Also cake =s and can biscuits work well in them too.
I had this one and liked it for my needs. Now it makes a concerning sound which relates to some kind of turning mechanism (as you can tell by the sound that there's a particular repetition). I don't know what's a good equivalent though. Any one have recommendations in 2024?
One of the gals on a FB group says she puts her door in the dishwasher and never has any problem doing that. Not sure I would want to do that.
I have never tried it. I currently do not own a dishwasher, but I suppose it would work ok. I have taken it apart and cleaned it. I wouldn't recommend doing that often as the screws may strip out the plastic over time. Thanks 👍😎
I just received this as a gift. I am wondering if any parts are dishwasher safe?
Yes Catherine many of the accessories such as the racks, rotisserie assembly and drip tray are all dishwasher safe. THE DOOR IS NOT. Clean the door with soapy damp towel or paper towels. Hope this helps. Thanks for the question and support.😄👍
Catherine Schmidt why don’t you read the book
I also found the basket to be not useful. When I used it for tater tots lots of pieces were in the bottom. French fries and tater tots great on the racks. Because I use a humidifier with hard water eventually my inner door was white. I decided to just run water through it and let it drain. Worked fine but would not do very often. Thanks for the review.
Thanks for the support @Cheryl Cooper.
Does the 6qt come with the kabob metal stick? and other assortment?
Yes Ashley Sunny, the unit I got came with the entire setup of the rotisserie rods and skewer assembly. Thanks for the questions and support
@@YourEverydayJoe Thank you very much for your answer 😉😉🤗
Thanks so much. Very interesting that you don't use the basket.
You very welcome. I think it's mainly due to the rotisserie basket seems to take longer to cook foods probably because it shields the heat. I found that cooking things like fries on the wire racks does a better job and it's faster.thanks for the support and comment.👍😊
I just got the Elite. Would you make "fried chicken" in the basket or on the racks?
I make fries in the basket and it comes out perfect.
Thanks for the info 71160000 . Have you reached out to Tristar Products to see if the replace it? Keep us posted if you do. Thanks for the support.

I thought the inside glass could be removed easily for cleaning? A recent video from the manufacturer showed them removing the glass from the inside.
@Jason Lane Thanks for the question. I believe you may be referring to the larger 8 qt or the Elite versions. The smaller 6qt version I have doesn't offer that benefit unless their engineers decided to make changes to it recently due to the complaints.
Butterball turkey in the rotation rack is good
How big was the turkey you used?
@@YourEverydayJoe hello I believe it was 3 lb I do recommend taking the netting off.
How does it cook steaks or chicken breast?
Thanks for the question Patrick Mahan. I have cooked both successfully in the power air fryer oven. Look through my playlist and see all the recipes I have tried in it. Here is the link: th-cam.com/video/KLPZGOHwwos/w-d-xo.html
Nathan Hotdogs work great with basket.
I just bought one like this and my rod is to short. It doesn’t keep rotating and when I shove it in more to the shaft it’s to short
Janice, What is the length of the rod? Have you called them for a replacement one yet?
Do you know how to change the light in it mine stop working and we done know how to fit it
Thanks for the question Belinda c , I have never taken it apart that far.
What is the name of the air fryer the company name you didn’t state that in your video thank you
Sorry, it's the Power Air Fryer Oven from TriStar.
Thanks for the review. I will get one but the elite.
Ms. Diva thank you for the support. When my current Power Air Fryer Oven fails, I will definitely be upgrading too! 😎👍
1st viewer! Thanks Joe for all you do!
@MiMi Marks thank you for your support. It is greatly appreciated.🙏😁
when the food is done cooking why does another timer start..i ve burnt food because of this can u help
Thanks for the inquiry Darlene. I have not had this happen in the three years of using mine. Can you provide more information? What are the steps you are using temperature and time or are you using one of the preprogrammed options? I'll try to reproduce it on mine.
What about the reheated pizza...
Reheating leftovers works well in the air fryer. I use it often for that reason. Thanks for the comment.
Can ya fix the door switch when it goes bad?
Thanks for the question Jeanine. Sorry I haven't had to dismantle my unit to that point yet.
What model do you have?
Thanks for the question Max Well. The model I have and used for the past 2 1/2 years making many of the recipes on this channel is the PowerXL Air Fryer Pro 6 QT I have included an Amazon link if you are interested in checking it out: amzn.to/2Y3WwCr
Thanks.
Mines had a weird smell when I first bought it is that normal
I also noticed a strange smell but it went away after about a week or so of daily use.
Ok thanks you joe appreciate the feedback
Have you ever tried to do a meat loaf in this oven how can I do that please comment back I'm dying to try a meat loaf
Martin, I haven't recorded a meatloaf video yet but is on my list of recipes to try in a future video. I'm sure it will work fine just have to adjust the time and temp settings for it. I have seen a couple of other channels make it. Do a search on TH-cam for meatloaf in the air fryer and I'm sure one will come up. Hope this helps. Thanks for the question and support.🙏😊
How can I get a new book
Thanks for the straight to the point video on this product. I bought mine cheap on Craigslist after researching and this oven covered all that I needed at the moment. Your review is spot on. I've used it once to cook chicken wings. My main purpose was the rotisserie and dehydration features. Mine didn't come with the instructions for the oven, only the recipe book. I hope I can find the instruction manual on the internet.
Bernadette thanks for the support. I have found the TriStar manual site. You can download the owner manuals and the cookbooks they include with the power air fryer oven. Hope this helps.

@@YourEverydayJoe Thank you! This is what I was looking for when I found your review. Great, honest review. Thanks a bunch!
Why doesn't anyone give reviews on using more than one rack at a time with this unit? Not happy with mine there.
I would love to win and be able to make more healthy recipes
....how did it blow up? what kind of unit was it?
Thanks for this review!!
Thank you for watching and supporting this channel.😎👍
Thanks for the great info Tom Stahl. Cooking is also my hobby. It just happens to be one of my favorite. Keep ROCKIN' the AIR FRYER.👍😎
Now the air fryer itself is showing burn marks on machine itself around door. Also the white cabinets above it have recentky shown discoloration. That being said....i still friggen love this thing!!
Overall, still love the unit.👍😎
@@Zoo-jc2kw wondering if you tried a basket type air fryer? I had 1 diff brand but I returned it as the basket coating started to bubbles.Im thinking to get this one but still not sure if ill try again the basket type.
@@chellea6216 no......get this one zz!!! Walmart has same one but looks cheaper...no digital display...order this one off website...we use it every friggen day!! Dont get white one....shows burn marks outside door after about 6 months
This is a great video! Thank you so much. I Think I will buy one ☝️
Thanks for the support and kind words.🙏😊
Yes!I love it,not the most creative at cooking. This works awesome for me.I cut up chicken breast and use on the top rack. That is time consuming, let me know if try actual chicken legs or breast. How you worked it.Ill check back
What about frozen pizza? Have you tried one?
Most frozen foods cook really well in air fryers. The reason why homemade pizza dough has difficulty is because of the lower temperature 400f and the fan blowing over it. The surface dries out too fast while the insides stay raw, also you would need to flip the dough midway through and before adding toppings. I stick to my conventional oven for pizza...for now.😄
Is this the one that HSN sells and has Eric Thess on the front of the book, also I believe there is a 2nd edition out now, is that this one?
@pegschr yes it is the same style with Eric Theiss. The one I have is the original Power Air Fryer Oven which I purchased directly from the TriStar Website about 2 years ago. Thanks for the question and support.🙏😀
...Theiss annoys the hell out of me, just like Billy Mays annoyed me everytime I saw him on tv, and also, Rachael Ray 😄
Great Review. Thank you
Thank you for the generous comment.😊👍
Thank You 🙏 💚
Thank you Sonia.🙏😊
Hi,I just got my fryer and I can't get the rotissiere function to work
Hello Loretta Ford, thanks for posting here.
I thinks this should be covered under manufacturer warranty. Hope this helps. Let me know if you need more info. Thanks again for the support.😎
@@YourEverydayJoe Thank you so much. Forgive me, but I didn't think I got this to you and sent it again. Please disregard the second one. I am following up on this issue as soon as I hit 'reply". Thanks so much!
I don't seem to be able to get the rotisserie part to work. I have a model AirFryer Pro I THINK the model number is C002, or maybe C?002. I've watched videos on TH-cam, and I still can't seem to figure out what I'm doing wrong. Just wondering if you can give some advice?
Sounds like a great ideal
I tried to making Fries in the basket and they are not good.

Sorry to disappoint, the "show Likes" was turned off. It has been corrected.
Can you hard cook eggs in this?
@Judy dill although I have not tried it in the Power Air Fryer Oven I have seen it done by others using a tray style air fryer. Maybe I'll give it a try in a future video. Check out this video from #Kellyscookin where she does a good job with it. th-cam.com/video/JiuTqwGrHRw/w-d-xo.html
