I’m a fan of the Kings coming back to the 80s logo, but that striping can definitely improve. Love the simplicity tho. The waist stripes are giving me double stuf Oreo vibes and wouldn’t compliment my Oreo double-stuffed stomach well 😭
I may or may not repeat this on the Discord channel, but one thing I will say immediately... HUGE upgrade, improvement, etc. Quite happy the Kings FINALLY decided to go with the Gretzky era logo and customization with the modernization tweaks. I have heard some complain about the striping (especially the hem) being too big. I disagree. I think it is perfect! Why? It helps fill any negative space below the crest logo. The only thing I might... and only MIGHT want to see how it would look is having white numbers outlined in the sparkling silver on the home jersey instead of all silver like the earliest Gretzky era jerseys had. Then simply the same customization for the road jersey as the original Gretzky era home jersey and just retired alternate. I know, then it would not be different from what they had, so I get it that they wanted a subtle change to be new. I'm sorry if some fans are going to be nitpicky with the hem stripe, but again people need to realize that if they went smaller, the same fans would complain even more that the jerseys look too boring and plain. The more eye popping elements, the better. It isn't the bold vivid colors like the Ducks' new look, but the Kings hit a home run here with the new uniforms. Went from one of the worst to now one of their best looks ever with this change. You mentioned a future purple ("Forum Blue") and gold jersey. I can definitely see them introducing one in the next couple of years or so. But I don't want the Reverse Retro 1.0 coming back as popular as it was for some fans. What I want to see is a purple jersey almost identical to what the Kings wore in the earliest years of their existence. NO shoulder yoke extending down the sleeves like they had in the early 1980s. Create gold and white striping for both the hem and sleeves. AND... use the newly modernized crown logo seen on the new primary logo for the crest. Then the same customization as these new jerseys are, but of course in the white and gold colors. THAT to me would be outstanding. I have seen a concept on Instagram of this idea but in the black, silver and white colors and I was impressed. Again, huge upgrade and so happy the Kings FINALLY ditched those ugly uniforms they have worn for the past 14 years. Especially that home plate logo.
@@TheJerseyZone thanks for replying, why is that though? Is it traditional or just thought to be a better feel? I know Detroit uses arched names which may be a factor but so do Rangers and they do use a namebar
@@brandonwilliams4991 I'm not sure the reason for it. Don't think its traditional but I know the Kings and Wings have been doing it for a while, pretty sure both doing so going back to at least the Reebok era
I hear that sometimes the sparkly material breaks down easier than the usual twill I wonder if the Kings number kit will last the rigors of the season.
Maybe, I haven't heard too many issues with the Vegas' or LA jerseys previously. I've only heard of issues with the Bruin Centennial jerseys but they didn't use sparkle twill
I know i'm in the minority but i liked the LA banner logo, wish they had to keep it as a shoulder patch or maybe have it in the collar as a hanger effect, to keep the tie to the Stanley Cups. I would have like if they had just used the template of their recent thirds, and made a black version. The only thing i don't like with the new jerseys is the waist stripe, hopefully they can make that smaller in the coming years, as it is to big and makes the jersey look heavy, i do like the matte black they are using for sure.
I don't want the purple and yellow (it's not gold). A return to purple and black was the way to go. I do like that the rubber logo is gone. I will miss the chrome helmets too.
I’m 💯 with you on the 3rd should’ve been the away & just made a black of that version. The shinny crest is amazing and would’ve been absolute🔥 on a black jersey. I will say that so far fanatics has actually done good by not messing with the jerseys very much.
Chevy is probably more correct as it looks like the Chevrolet logo, but it's also been called the Chevron. It's what I've always called it so I kinda just say it without even thinking
The striping is bad and I don’t like the sparkly material. They should’ve just made some alterations to their previous look, maybe change the number font . The black and white is way better
Personally, I think this is a downgrade. It’s basically the exact same jersey (just without the black piping), but with a worse logo. I hate logos that are more of a word mark, like the capitals and this. I very much dislike this. If they had kept the alternate jerseys design it would have been unique and cool but just the old jerseys, too me, are just really plain and boring.

Anyone else notice the threat fraying on the “I” in the Anze Kopitar pic? 😭

I didn't know that about the namebar, interesting, I just figured it was a forgone conclusion every team does namebar
Detroit and (previously) Arizona do as well

My understanding of the logo is that it is a "chevy" crest not a "chevron" crest like you state here several times. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Please go back to Purple and Gold.

I feel you. The 3rd as the away would've been sweet IMO

Very fair, I like the removal of the piping and think the logo is better but I get ya
So glad they got rid of the piping. The new (old) striping is way better,
