I love the sleeves but besides that I would have definitely perfered a purple style jersey from them kind of like the reverse retro

It’s been said that the black and silver came about to represent the Raiders when they used to be in LA. The Kings also had the purple and gold. I did believe to represent the LA Lakers. I ‘m a longtime time hockey fan and for me it’s the purple and gold with the King’s crown. But I do like the current jersey.
Im full game for the kings to rebrand back to the early 2000s. Those were some of the most legendary jerseys in NHL history, imo
I don't know this for certain but my guess is the white gloves are a tribute to Gretzky. In his autobiography he mentioned how as a kid in junior hockey the best gloves they could afford were white gloves so he was the only kid on the team with white gloved.
I would like it if the Kings used this new jersey as their primary because I don't like the piping on their current jersey. I would love to see them use black and purple with hints of yellow on a primary set.
Kings added the silver fleck to their main black home jerseys as well. On the front and back stripes, and the stripes at the elbows. Also on the silver spot around the back of the neck
Kings had metal fleck in their uni's back during their purple/black/white era. Glad they're bringing it back (its also on the piping for their primegreen homes)

I agree! if they did a white or yellow version of the reverse retro or the purple/black jerseys, I'd be totally down to buy another LA jersey

I like the idea behind the jersey, may or may not go after it. I’d like to see a purple version of the “silver” jersey with gold thrown in too. I hope they don’t move in the direction of keeping it though. It is a nice “throwback” sort of its own reverse retro

And fyi, Metalflake is not Vegas thing the Kings did it back in 2017 (in the reebok years) the 50th anniversary jersey. Similar to the grey alternate in the background. The silver stripes on the arms had silver metalflake. And also the home and away Primegreen jersey also have metalflake now ! Can’t wait to receive mine. 🤩

The Kings should rebrand to purple and yellow. At the very least they should include some purple, really like the helmet on this uniform though.

The Kings look like The Lakers on Ice to me like they are riding on the coattails of The Lakers popularity but yes purple should be in there just not the yellow.

@@alanfox691 I think you’re right in a way, the yellow definitely connects them to the Lakers and without it it’s more their own way. However I think the gold works the best with the purple. I wouldn’t mind Purple with silver but I’d like gold more
LA was doing the shiny, sparkly silver before Vegas was even a team. LA is the OG
They remind me of the reign jerseys this ones not that bad just if they made the numbers on the sides a little bigger it would be cool
The crazy thing for me: even EA Sports, in the NHL Video Games, put a lot of purple (sorry, forum blue !) and gold in the public clothes ! And they look better than the most of the stuff they are acutally selling (but it's just my opinion) !

i have the alternate that looks very similar to this, so i dont really have any desire to buy this. i prefer the number on the stripe

For me this logo is the best they got in their arsenal so I'm happy for that. I'm also OK with the colors i guess. But one thing I never like is when the striping on the socks mismatch with the striping on the sleeve!

A bit off topic question if I may? As I type this I'm enjoying the Canucks/Oilers game and I cont to notice that the Canucks appear to be using their away jerseys from last season (white shoulder patches on their away white jerseys)...Aren't the new Primegreen supposed to have blue patches on the Canucks away jerseys?

Maybe in the minority but I think the king’s current branding is really good ! Black/Silver is such a stylish look. I prefer having the LA shield then the slanted “KINGS” wordmark too.

As for the jersey, if they're not using the crown as the main logo, could they at least use it as a shoulder patch?? would break up all the white on the shoulders a bit. dont think i will be buying this at full price, will wait for it to go on sale in the future.
I have a feeling this is the start of LA going full time with the old logo.

Lines are larger on the kings logo, I think thats what may throw the gleaming look.
I really would love to see the kings do some jerseys like they had in the early 2000's with the purple and black and the crown/coat of arms. The silver and black was good but has just gotten a bit boring.

kings have had the metallic flecks on their number kits for a while so I don’t think they’re ripping off that much but I thought of Vegas too.
It seems the Kings are taking a lot from the Henderson Silver Knights - chrome helmets, silver on the jersey.
I just wish they would bring back purple. There's a reason people no longer watch black & white TVs. Color is a good thing.
The Kings, and really all California sports teams in general have to get their you know what together. They’re constantly changing their brands and cities and logos and designs because there’s no solid fan base/following (compared to a team like the Flyers or Rangers). And yeah, when I saw this, I said to myself why? Isn’t that already one of their jerseys? Dear California sports teams, stick with something and go with it!!!

The jersey is fine it’s cool, but why another white version? I already have that third jersey, I’m not buying this one just because of the shiny silver. Come on can’t they just give us the black jersey with shiny silver? Just like the sharks giving us another teal jersey when we want the white one

I really like that jersey! That logo and those colors are the ones I watched growing up. However, it would be cool to have some purple in it, like in the 2000s. I'm one of the few that don't like purple and yellow for the Kings. Reverse Retro is OK, but it would be much nicer in 2000s colors.

Overall, this uniform looks alright as an alternate 🙂. I don’t like the Kings’ Lakers colors though, because I really hate the Lakers and their brand, so I need to see the Kings go back to the original 1992-1998 home and away uniforms. Purple and Yellow is a woman’s color scheme in my eyes.
Well, I can't change your mind but we have too many championships in purple and gold so it will never change...
@@ramuelcruzada3207 some of them can from Minneapolis and some of them were with two shades of blue, so not all are with the purple and yellow. I can tell you this though, the Kings NEED (I’m dead serious) to go back to these 1992-1998 home and away uniforms. They have all the time to change their uniforms, now it’s been like 8 years they started wearing their current uniforms 😊
Let's not pretend like LA were innovative here either, the Henderson Silver Knights (Vegas AHL team) use this silver material in their jersey/brand.
I love this jersey. Love the chrome helmets and white gloves. And I think that is a great version of their 90s uniform. I somewhat don't love purple and gold in la kings because as a lakers fan, I want them to have uniqueness in their brand. We're not sister teams anymore. I wish they could bring back the early 2000's color.

Chrome helmets are dumb... SO dumb. Never liked the Chevrolet emblem rip off either. Agreed, the shiny crap is for Vegas. Ugh, what a mess... bring back the purple and yellow!
