@@ronald-ep2yx Coffee is still relatively a new trend - it only became super popular in the past 2, 3 years. It's very hard to find decaf in China in my experience. But I think there should be a market for it lol

Hi, I'm Dutch (荷兰人）. I'm almost ready to start reading stories at the intermediate level. This is the first time I watched a video at this level and I was surprised how much I did understand. 😊 One remark about how to pronounce the Dutch word 'thee': It sounds similar to the English sound 'tay'. If I understood correctly the Taiwanese word is or was 'tě'.(?) So I guess that's where the Dutch word came from. I will certainly keep following this channel.👍👍👍

I was told an emperor probably in the Han dynasty was sitting under a tea drinking his daily water and he liked it he started instructing his servants to put leaves in his hot water and it started spreading and people developed other methods too
Interestingly, the word "cha" (from Portuguese via Cantonese) actually appeared in English early than the word "tea" (from Dutch via Min). Both were in use for a short period of time before "cha" fell out of use.

Not quite about tea...but I've heard that nobody in China drinks decaffeinated coffee. Is that true?

Tea came from Hokkien (Minnan) Chinese pronunciation of Teh. Malay called tea as teh.
