- How to repurpose old jewellery DIY style! Recycle an old ring or and turn it into a modern choker and transform an old piece of chain jewlery and repurpose it into something that is modern and new again. Learn how to make a choker as I take my Mum’s old wedding ring and an old chain that I no longer use and repurpose both pieces so I can wear them again after sitting in the bottom of the drawer for many years. DIY project for home using jewlery you already have.

Something I did one time, was to take a an old, bead necklace my grandmother had given me, to a friend who
makes jewelry. She took the beads off the string, and restrung them with some glass beads, some knots and breaks in the string, and she added a pendant in the center. The necklace was lengthened with all the extra, more modern beads she added, and she still had enough to make some dangly earrings to go with it. It’s beautiful and now a favorite piece of mine.

I repurpose jewelry all the time! One thing I haven’t figured out how to do, is to re-coat or “paint” inexpensive charms that have tarnished down to that dark brass underneath. Any suggestions?
