I use to listen to Funke Adejumo and I noticed that she preaches that women should literally worship their husbands! I stopped listening to her when I realised that I didn’t marry a deity as a husband. I respect my husband and I respect myself and vice versa so her idea of marriage, special plates, special cups, special cutlery and special seats for husbands won’t work for me. That woman is misleading people, preaching how she worships her husband and so on. Being a woman is tough enough, and being an African woman makes it tougher. I'm the head and all that. I had to retrain myself. We are 2 equals having different roles. I must do mine. It's not a woman's role to do all the house chores. It's not an ideal culture. It doesn't make you less of a man when you do your chores and don't see it as helping the woman. Cos when you see it as helping, then it's no longer your duty. You do it when you feel like. Being a house wife can be very depressing. But in that case, if the man is working, it's fair but he shouldn't be the one adding up the chores for the woman.

When you talked of a woman being scared of taking a higher paying job, you reminded me of a pastor whose preachings were discouraging women from being learned and hardworking because that will scare away potential "husbands". I use to listen to Funke Adejumo and I noticed that she preaches that women should literally worship their husbands! I stopped listening to her when I realised that I didn’t marry a deity as a husband. I respect my husband and I respect myself and vice versa so her idea of marriage, special plates, special cups, special cutlery and special seats for husbands won’t work for me. That woman is misleading people, preaching how she worships her husband and so on. Being a woman is tough enough, and being an African woman makes it tougher. The funny thing is that these people are equally human beings and their church members don't have the courage or decency to make them accountable when they do wrong. Lack of accountability of leaders in the church, government and even our homes are the core reasons of Africa's misfortunate. The people who created the culture concluded that elders, leaders etc. have the ultimate power.

I also agree it's time to begin to change the narratives. My question would be if you after watching the video had tried to reach her via email or whatever means so that as a person you have done your best to point to her what she said may have been inappropriate.
