Well, mine is diff, ever since I joined Christ embassy, d teachings of pastor Chris is exceptional n awakening. I love him but I do not idolize him. For d idolizing issue pastor Chris has never asked anyone to idolize him. Its a personal tin n dis issue of idolizing exist in so many big churches now. N in sowing of seeds its ur choice, I have never bin forced, my giving is btw myself n God. Member's might have issues but ur relationship with God is all that matters.
My mother was a devout member.she wasted money for years traveling to south Africa from Zambia to attend "healing school" ...she was a faith filled woman who died fighting sickness.she quit her meds and rejected the option of surgery to repair her aorta all because someone had money to gain in the name of "divine healing".my mother's death left me scarred for life.....am getting teary typing this. I have seen and read some of the philanthropic actions that church does(inner city,university renovation, send a rescue relief team during disaster ..etc)..when we watch soccer,we see coca-cola and other big companies sponsoring those big games now if you have a vision of spreading your ministry across the globe, it is only making sense that Christians that believe in your vision should sponsor it. This is the kind of preaching Christians in Nigeria and Africa need. There is nothing new to tell African Christians. We need to make use of our God given brain.

Christ Embassy may not be for you, but it doesn’t mean it’s not a Church of Christ. I have worked as a Protocol Officer In the ministry, and I understand the whole do not take pictures without permission. There have been instances where people took pics of Pastor Chris or members and used it for false stories, and the church has tried to clamp down on that. You may argue that there are pictures and the internet already, but nothing tends to endorse a story than real-time pictures or clips. I do not agree that the young man should have been pushed or harassed, as it could have been handled better. That was totally on that individual (the Protocol Officer) Secondly, with regards to songs in languages or pidgin…We do have them, but you would hardly hear it at the global stage because of the various backgrounds of the people in the service. However, in recent times we have had such at the global stage with artistes like Jahdel, Testimony, and Password. Christ Embassy started from the City and has moved into villages, and in these villages, songs are done in languages also. We even translate Rhapsody into those languages. On idolization: Do you really think Pastor Chris asks anyone to idolize him? When I was in school, I had this lecturer whom I could stay in his class the whole day, just because of the way he lectures. He makes it interactive and easy for me to understand. I would always say good things about him and held him in high regard. Does that mean I idolize him? I agree that some members can be extra and overreact, because they hold their Pastor in high regard. However, that does not mean the Pastor asked them to do that. The Church is full of both mature and immature people, and they act based on their level of maturity.

Just going to touch on a few aspects. singing: CE sings in English simply because it is imperative everyone understands what is being sang so we done ignorantly confess something that is not online with the word of God. Men of God: some people do idolise their men of God. That is what the INDIVIDUAL member does NOT pastor asking them to. Sometimes it’s due to the impact they had in those people’s life through the word of God. They are showing gratitude just like a child will ‘idolised’ their parents. Only very few go too far but you will have that everywhere in different ramifications. Money: it is the LOVE of money that is the route of evil. Money however is important, even in the gospel. During the time of Jesus Christ the disciples had a treasurer in Judas, his LOVE of money caused him his life. However, money was imperative during Jesus’ time as well as it enables them to do what they needed doing to spread the gospel. In CE nobody is forced to give anything, you are prompted to exercise your faith in giving as to help promote the gospels but you are free to do or leave it. I don’t normally comment on your post. I attended Christ Embassy in London for over a year and left because of ever demanding for money. At that time they had 7 partnerships and the expected membership join one or two and must be actively financially contributing monthly. During pastor Chris and his wife, members are forced to contribute, they tagged if ‘offering 7. They have cell groups, where services are held in a rented halls and members are paying rents for these gatherings as well as expected to offerings during this service. I agreed members idolised Pastor Chris and their pastors, they cannot give testimony without reference to pastor Chris. You are doing a great work, keep talking and if you manage to safe one person from pastor worship, you have saved a nation.

If not for the tithe you pay and being a partner to propagate the gospel of christ jesus on television books and other medium I wouldn't have been saved. Many more has been saved through your tithes and offering and it is in record in heaven am not saying it is a prerequisite to make heaven. I think you really misinterpreted things. We don't idolise Pastor we just give him the honour he deserves as the Man God used to change our lives. The bible says Give honour to whom honour is due. If we give honour to people who have not even touched lives as Pastor Chris has done, don't you think that it's more appropriate we apply what the bible says with him with all that God used him to achieve in our lives. Summer Aku, watching you, I liked you. But I must be quite honest with you. Spiritual things are very sensitive. And it's very easy to miss it on spiritual spiritual issues. Whatever errors you noticed in Christ Embassy is not for you to come out publicly to lash out on them. If you feel concerned, pray for them & trust God answers prayers. You may think that you're only sincerely trying to help & enlighten others, but you may end up causing more harm in the body of Christ. Read the letter to the 7 Churches in the book of Revelation. The Spirit of God rebukes, warns, admonishes, commends each of those churches. It's no child of God's ministry to come out publicly & lash out against a church, pastor. It's the work of the Holy Spirit of God to oversee His church: refining, cleansing, purifying, rebuking, judging. God is so particular about roles & orderliness. Don't ever pick up a role you're not ordained or commissioned by God to do, no matter how sincere & zealous you're. Without an anointing for a spiritual role, you endanger yourself. I think it was Billy Graham who said, " If you ever see a perfect church, run away." I'm from Anambra state and I knew a Christ Embassy church in a village in Abagana. This happened over ten years ago. Christ Embassy Ibadan has a space where those who are only communicable in their indigenous language are attended to as someone interpretes to them in Yoruba while the pastor preaches. No, I'm not trying to defend Christ Embassy; I'm not a member. I just stated some facts I know about them. God does not see denomination. He sees ONE body. Money is not evil. If it is, why did God bless Solomon with so much wealth? Abraham, Job, etc had their wealth linked to God's blessing. Every born again child of God is blessed. God's blessing is not financial, it's all encompassing. Its is having God's presence with you & in every thing you do. Having a heathy outlook on life & the right attitude on money & prioritizing rightly is what makes you escape the snare & lure of money. But in itself being ambitious to grow financially isn't evil at all. The much you see is the much you become in life. It's the law of life. Even when one is blessed of God, if he/she doesn't cultivate a rich mindset, then nothing much should be expected. And mind you, greed & love of money is not only a disease amongst the rich. The many poor folks suffer from such. In the final analysis, God wants each of His children to be happy & greatly contented at every stage of his life. While you seek better financial status, know that the source of your life & joy is God, not your money. Rejoice evermore & He'll meet all your needs if your learn to trust Him, & not your money. God can solve big financial issues for you without you necessarily having the money in your bank account. That's part of the blessing! No doubt, Christ Embassy has not been doing everything wrongly. There must be a sort of blessing, one way or the other ( I'm being very conservative here) from the church to the world. Let's focus on the positives, write, talk about them. I completely understand this. I also left Christ Embassy about that time too, precisely 19yrs ago. I joined a branch in the north through NYSC mobilisation. I joined the choir too and rose through the "ranks to become a PCF leader'. We practically idolized Pastor Chris. We don't even call him Pastor, it's Rev Chris..you can call your local pastor a 'pastor' and Pastor Chris, just pastor. We left for Atmosphere For Miracle, made to provide for our transport, hotel, uniforms, special seeds, offerings, messages band tapes. ALL tapes and messages must be bought, even if you can't afford it. The pressure was just too much. We were meant to augment offerings from our members if it wasn't enough. Contribute for Pastor's Birthdays.. usually a car every time. Building projects usually saps our little income. There was Super Sundays, Dollar Sunday, First fruit services. Infact, most of us sold our properties we owned then and were made redeem them with cash. I even finished the Ministerial School then in Abuja, that was 2004. Pastor Chris's father was alive then and took us in Eschatology. Even my local pastor was practically idolized. All CEC members were idolized. Healing School, LMM, LMC, ROR was a huge burden cos of bills to clear, and among PCF leaders it was a huge competition. Everything was monitized. I had experiences that are not pleasant at all. I was a core member, so it's verified. Even when I had the opportunity to meet Rev Tom, as we call him, it was as if you are meeting God. The pastors are just God of men not Men of God. Thank God, am out too.

Summer Aku Vlog I can confirm most of what you're saying and I believe I was at that Total Experience program in Lagos too. And If I must say, CE always stopped people from taking pictures particularly because of bad press who could use them for harmful stories. And yes, they now have churches in villages and they do sing local songs... And they now do take care of their choirs too ....lol. However, I recently (just over a month ago) left for even deeper reasons at the instruction of The Most High. All I can say is my soul has found its rest. It goes beyond CE, I do not think the Christian church as a whole is ready for what's coming. There needs to be an awaking before we are taken unawares. I will stop here for now.

My husband use to attend the Christ embassy in owweri and he found out things the hard way , people idolize these men like there are God and they truly don’t understand it’s about having a relationship with The Father they don’t study to show themselves approved they believe that these pastors are perfect and they don’t do any wrong , I pray for there eyes to be open
I hope you don't take this the wrong way as I mean no harm at all. Your opinions are yours so I won't argue them. I was wondering if you had choir leaders or church group leaders while at the church. Did you talk to them about your challenges with money/feeding? Usually these people ensure the welfare of their members. I don't know why I find it hard to believe that any pastor will see a member coming to him treated in the way your friend he was treated and approve of it. People complain about so many things with churches but in many cases those rules or doctrines were made by some leader or the other. I also feel people think they have to attend certain programs, I doubt you were forced to go to Lagos without funds, even at that, I'm pretty sure if you had spoken to a leader about your challenges, they would've ensured you were okay. The teachings is my major problem and their major problems because if he's teach the real gospel his subordinates and followers will not be misbehaving. They practice what he teaches.
Success or failure is a choice. Pastor has given out all the principles for a successful and godly life and it is the CHOICE of those under him to follow. Those who follow get excellent results and those who don't well.... Pastor cannot force them to walk right if they don't want to.
I attended Christ embassy before in Italy and i wasn't allowed to sing in my beautiful dialect, Edo, i sing better in my dialect and nobody can't stop me from singing in my dialect not even pastor Chris, though i am not longer going to any Church now, because there are many fake pastors these days. Pastors focus these days is money, you can imagine a pastor telling not speak against any pastor even if they are wrong so that i don't invite the wrath of God and challenge him right in front of him, the pastor was surprised and he was confused. Christ Embassy was my Church But I also Left. I Used To Love the Teaching & all that cuz I got to Learned how to Study My BIBLE with Proper Knowledge of The word of God. I was not there because of the General Overseers or Their ways of dressing...The Branch that I attended (Lagos Isolo) didn't Force me to Speak in TONGUES. I didn't even speak in Tongues at all. I never wore a Trousers to that Church or any church. So I really didn't experienced anything outside of what the Bible Teaches. I never followed trends. I was going there to WORSHIP and when the pastor Teaches us, I asked Questions. People Idolise their pastors because they choose to do that. Those pastors don't asked them to do that. I saw people relaxing their hair but Pastor Chris didn't asked him to. I spoke with few people if it was Pastor Chris who asked them to do that, they said No. So I will not Blame any Pastor at all. People are just GULLIBLE and don't study their BIBLE for themselves. So how will they Understand what God want us as Believers to behaved....I Attended Programme and Pastor Chris was praying for people they will falling but I didn't....Because I couldn't fall for No Reason. As for the Boy Pastor Chris didn't Pushed him and I guess Pastor Chris was not even Paying attention Sister Summer. during JESUS time on Earth. People were busy pushing others too. I should probably leave my church too. Last week we gave gifts to the seniors who have contributed over the years in different ways. Money, time you name it we celebrated them...hmmmm. What I really want to say though is this... the Bible says don’t get into arguments about religion, Doctrines etc. read unna Bible and stop this nonsense. You all can’t truly love God. The devil fools you into believing that you are opening eyes to truth but what you are really doing in truth and fact is the devil’s work in stopping the undodly from going to church because 9/10 times they say “ the church” universal is no good . Me myself I left christ embassy but we I would say that alot of people praise pastor chris not nesasarily put him on the same level as God but as appreciation for bringing a posetive and inspiring messege that we hadn't heard from alot of pentecostal pastors, he has allowed people to believe in themselves. He himself has never said 'Praise me' or taken the attention of Jesus. Churches are a business wheather we like it or not, even the Catholic Church is very rich. Every church has scandals and the main reason I returned back to church is because its a family, a community. I don't always believe what is done there is right. The story of the boy is sad. I personally don't think people are that gullible to idolise him as jesus just the same way you know he's not jesus but maybe people look up to him, the same way as kids we all grew up with idols like Beyonce, Michael Jackson people who inspired us. Secondly, there should be ways to voice complaints and suggestions in the church but because people don't complain no wonder the choirs will not have their uniforms even provided for. Thirdly, in our branch we use to be allowed to sing our native songs as long as you translate but it wasn't always pushed because they are an international church and some may complain that they dont understand because you may sing something contrary to the word of God

I recall attending evening fellowship at the family residence very early on!! going for camp meeting at Ekpoma,etc, attending services at the Airport Rd branch, CE at UNIBEN, etc. I have since moved on. After all these years, my take is your relationship with Christ and you belief in God is personal to you. It's not so much the group, building, church you belong to but your own personal relationship. At the end of the day, everyone will be accountable. Best wishes.
My sister, you’re completely right. Unfortunately, it’s increasingly becoming the norm for churches to preach prosperity and hero worship pastors. A lot of church members can do almost everything for their pastors, but they will not perform their primary obligations toward their own husband/wife.

In short summer for the first time ever I am commenting, when the video ended I was seriously clapping and saying thank you over and over again. You have such a beautiful voice ma’am. FYI, the strategy for Christ embassy may have been to take the Gospel to the seats of commerce and commercial hubs in all regions. This ensures the Gospel spreads more easily through trade and transport back and forth from the epicenters of influence into the villages. Some churches operate this way. Also I am very uncomfortable with the idolization of Pastor Chris. It is one of the pitfalls especially in mega churches where a super charismatic preacher holds so much influence over the congregation. It is borderline cult like. I am happy you saw it for what it was and grew past it. Thank you for your videos.

Singing in your native language was simply beautiful. I didn't know the words, but I recognized the spirit of those words. I believe God hears those who worship Him in Spirit and in Truth, irregardless of the language spoken.

What are these Pastors doing for the community except collect Tithes to make themselves rich. Beautiful churches in neighborhoods that could fix the roads with pavement, buy solar street lights for the neighborhood or blocks sometimes that 5 churches are on. Think about if all those pastors got to get her and. Combined the Tithes to do good in neighborhood. Prepare breakfast at least for school children twice a week, etc.

I was a member of the church,left in 2007. I liked the church though but the pressure to pay for one thing or the other was too much. I didn't have any form of income but my leaders kept pressurising me to give, so I quietly left. His messages helped me a lot to find myself and know the love of God. For that I remain grateful because prior to that I was going through depression. I agree with you about people idolizing their pastors. They defend their Pastors and not defend God.
Playing Pastor Chris messages is not idolization. I have friends from other Churches who buy his books and CDs. I have a colleague at work who always wants to get the latest message from Pastor Chris. She is a Catholic and she gets blessed by these messages. Agreed that we all brethren. However, there is order and hierarchy in ministry. Ephesians 4:11-16 King James Version (KJV) 11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: 13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ: We do not see our Pastors as higher beings but we give them the respect as should be.

Well, mine is diff, ever since I joined Christ embassy, d teachings of pastor Chris is exceptional n awakening. I love him but I do not idolize him. For d idolizing issue pastor Chris has never asked anyone to idolize him. Its a personal tin n dis issue of idolizing exist in so many big churches now. N in sowing of seeds its ur choice, I have never bin forced, my giving is btw myself n God. Member's might have issues but ur relationship with God is all that matters.
My mother was a devout member.she wasted money for years traveling to south Africa from Zambia to attend "healing school" ...she was a faith filled woman who died fighting sickness.she quit her meds and rejected the option of surgery to repair her aorta all because someone had money to gain in the name of "divine healing".my mother's death left me scarred for life.....am getting teary typing this.
This was over twelve years ago yet the wound is still fresh.

I have seen and read some of the philanthropic actions that church does(inner city,university renovation, send a rescue relief team during disaster ..etc)..when we watch soccer,we see coca-cola and other big companies sponsoring those big games now if you have a vision of spreading your ministry across the globe, it is only making sense that Christians that believe in your vision should sponsor it. I have seen that the pastor of that church has written a lot of books does he has the right to enjoy that money? if not why? but you don't have a problem seeing doctors and lawyers becoming rich. have you ever read about king David, Solomon, job, king soul(paul), joseph, Isaac,jacob...and so many more were very rich, now if we wanna follow your admonition it means all those people are in hell right now? sister, I am not recommending pastor Chris to you in any way but I want you to do what you are doing with the right motive.

My Brother Pat. I don't see this as preaching against the church or creating doubts in the minds of people attending the church. This is to awaken the minds and consciousness people. This is the kind of preaching Christians in Nigeria and Africa need. There is nothing new to tell African Christians. We need to make use of our God given brain.

I have worked as a Protocol Officer In the ministry, and I understand the whole do not take pictures without permission. There have been instances where people took pics of Pastor Chris or members and used it for false stories, and the church has tried to clamp down on that. You may argue that there are pictures and the internet already, but nothing tends to endorse a story than real-time pictures or clips. I do not agree that the young man should have been pushed or harassed, as it could have been handled better. That was totally on that individual (the Protocol Officer)

On idolization: Do you really think Pastor Chris asks anyone to idolize him? When I was in school, I had this lecturer whom I could stay in his class the whole day, just because of the way he lectures. He makes it interactive and easy for me to understand. I would always say good things about him and held him in high regard. Does that mean I idolize him?
I agree that some members can be extra and overreact, because they hold their Pastor in high regard. However, that does not mean the Pastor asked them to do that. The Church is full of both mature and immature people, and they act based on their level of maturity.

singing: CE sings in English simply because it is imperative everyone understands what is being sang so we done ignorantly confess something that is not online with the word of God.
Men of God: some people do idolise their men of God. That is what the INDIVIDUAL member does NOT pastor asking them to. Sometimes it’s due to the impact they had in those people’s life through the word of God. They are showing gratitude just like a child will ‘idolised’ their parents.
Only very few go too far but you will have that everywhere in different ramifications.
Money: it is the LOVE of money that is the route of evil. Money however is important, even in the gospel. During the time of Jesus Christ the disciples had a treasurer in Judas, his LOVE of money caused him his life. However, money was imperative during Jesus’ time as well as it enables them to do what they needed doing to spread the gospel. In CE nobody is forced to give anything, you are prompted to exercise your faith in giving as to help promote the gospels but you are free to do or leave it. It is only a few pastors that can execute this task a bit forcefully.

I don’t normally comment on your post. I attended Christ Embassy in London for over a year and left because of ever demanding for money. At that time they had 7 partnerships and the expected membership join one or two and must be actively financially contributing monthly. During pastor Chris and his wife, members are forced to contribute, they tagged if ‘offering 7. They have cell groups, where services are held in a rented halls and members are paying rents for these gatherings as well as expected to offerings during this service.
I agreed members idolised Pastor Chris and their pastors, they cannot give testimony without reference to pastor Chris.

Whatever errors you noticed in Christ Embassy is not for you to come out publicly to lash out on them. If you feel concerned, pray for them & trust God answers prayers. You may think that you're only sincerely trying to help & enlighten others, but you may end up causing more harm in the body of Christ. Read the letter to the 7 Churches in the book of Revelation. The Spirit of God rebukes, warns, admonishes, commends each of those churches. It's no child of God's ministry to come out publicly & lash out against a church, pastor. It's the work of the Holy Spirit of God to oversee His church: refining, cleansing, purifying, rebuking, judging. God is so particular about roles & orderliness. Don't ever pick up a role you're not ordained or commissioned by God to do, no matter how sincere & zealous you're. Without an anointing for a spiritual role, you endanger yourself. I think it was Billy Graham who said, " If you ever see a perfect church, run away."
I'm from Anambra state and I knew a Christ Embassy church in a village in Abagana. This happened over ten years ago. Christ Embassy Ibadan has a space where those who are only communicable in their indigenous language are attended to as someone interpretes to them in Yoruba while the pastor preaches.
No, I'm not trying to defend Christ Embassy; I'm not a member. I just stated some facts I know about them. God does not see denomination. He sees ONE body.
Money is not evil. If it is, why did God bless Solomon with so much wealth? Abraham, Job, etc had their wealth linked to God's blessing. Every born again child of God is blessed. God's blessing is not financial, it's all encompassing. Its is having God's presence with you & in every thing you do. Having a heathy outlook on life & the right attitude on money & prioritizing rightly is what makes you escape the snare & lure of money. But in itself being ambitious to grow financially isn't evil at all. The much you see is the much you become in life. It's the law of life. Even when one is blessed of God, if he/she doesn't cultivate a rich mindset, then nothing much should be expected. And mind you, greed & love of money is not only a disease amongst the rich. The many poor folks suffer from such. In the final analysis, God wants each of His children to be happy & greatly contented at every stage of his life. While you seek better financial status, know that the source of your life & joy is God, not your money. Rejoice evermore & He'll meet all your needs if your learn to trust Him, & not your money. God can solve big financial issues for you without you necessarily having the money in your bank account. That's part of the blessing!
No doubt, Christ Embassy has not been doing everything wrongly. There must be a sort of blessing, one way or the other ( I'm being very conservative here) from the church to the world. Let's focus on the positives, write, talk about them. For the negatives, if you cannot reach out in love to the person(s) concerned, then just pray. And if you don't want to, then just be quiet & trust that the Holy Ghost is doing His job well. You can criticize any other thing/person on natural issues. But for spiritual issues, it's nobody's job.

I completely understand this. I also left Christ Embassy about that time too, precisely 19yrs ago. I joined a branch in the north through NYSC mobilisation. I joined the choir too and rose through the "ranks to become a PCF leader'. We practically idolized Pastor Chris. We don't even call him Pastor, it's Rev Chris..you can call your local pastor a 'pastor' and Pastor Chris, just pastor. We left for Atmosphere For Miracle, made to provide for our transport, hotel, uniforms, special seeds, offerings, messages band tapes. ALL tapes and messages must be bought, even if you can't afford it. The pressure was just too much. We were meant to augment offerings from our members if it wasn't enough. Contribute for Pastor's Birthdays.. usually a car every time. Building projects usually saps our little income. There was Super Sundays, Dollar Sunday, First fruit services. Infact, most of us sold our properties we owned then and were made redeem them with cash.
I even finished the Ministerial School then in Abuja, that was 2004. Pastor Chris's father was alive then and took us in Eschatology. Even my local pastor was practically idolized. All CEC members were idolized. Healing School, LMM, LMC, ROR was a huge burden cos of bills to clear, and among PCF leaders it was a huge competition. Everything was monitized. I had experiences that are not pleasant at all. I was a core member, so it's verified. Even when I had the opportunity to meet Rev Tom, as we call him, it was as if you are meeting God. The pastors are just God of men not Men of God. Thank God, am out too.

Did you talk to them about your challenges with money/feeding? Usually these people ensure the welfare of their members. I don't know why I find it hard to believe that any pastor will see a member coming to him treated in the way your friend he was treated and approve of it. People complain about so many things with churches but in many cases those rules or doctrines were made by some leader or the other. I also feel people think they have to attend certain programs, I doubt you were forced to go to Lagos without funds, even at that, I'm pretty sure if you had spoken to a leader about your challenges, they would've ensured you were okay. Christ Embassy was my Church But I also Left. I Used To Love the Teaching & all that cuz I got to Learned how to Study My BIBLE with Proper Knowledge of The word of God. I was not there because of the General Overseers or Their ways of dressing...The Branch that I attended (Lagos Isolo) didn't Force me to Speak in TONGUES. I didn't even speak in Tongues at all. I never wore a Trousers to that Church or any church. So I really didn't experienced anything outside of what the Bible Teaches. I never followed trends. I was going there to WORSHIP and when the pastor Teaches us, I asked Questions. People Idolise their pastors because they choose to do that. Those pastors don't asked them to do that. I saw people relaxing their hair but Pastor Chris didn't asked him to. I spoke with few people if it was Pastor Chris who asked them to do that, they said No. So I will not Blame any Pastor at all. People are just GULLIBLE and don't study their BIBLE for themselves. So how will they Understand what God want us as Believers to behaved....I Attended Programme and Pastor Chris was praying for people they will falling but I didn't....Because I couldn't fall for No Reason. I should probably leave my church too. Last week we gave gifts to the seniors who have contributed over the years in different ways. Money, time you name it we celebrated them...hmmmm. What I really want to say though is this... the Bible says don’t get into arguments about religion, Doctrines etc. read unna Bible and stop this nonsense. You all can’t truly love God. The devil fools you into believing that you are opening eyes to truth but what you are really doing in truth and fact is the devil’s work in stopping the undodly from going to church because 9/10 times they say “ the church” universal is no good . They hardly ever narrow it down to one church. May I suggest if you don’t like the practices of a church move on. It’s no one’s assigned duty by Jehovah to bring down anyone. Me myself I left christ embassy but we I would say that alot of people praise pastor chris not nesasarily put him on the same level as God but as appreciation for bringing a posetive and inspiring messege that we hadn't heard from alot of pentecostal pastors, he has allowed people to believe in themselves. He himself has never said 'Praise me' or taken the attention of Jesus.
Churches are a business wheather we like it or not, even the Catholic Church is very rich.
Every church has scandals and the main reason I returned back to church is because its a family, a community. I don't always believe what is done there is right.
The story of the boy is sad. I personally don't think people are that gullible to idolise him as jesus just the same way you know he's not jesus but maybe people look up to him, the same way as kids we all grew up with idols like Beyonce, Michael Jackson people who inspired us.
Secondly, there should be ways to voice complaints and suggestions in the church but because people don't complain no wonder the choirs will not have their uniforms even provided for.
Thirdly, in our branch we use to be allowed to sing our native songs as long as you translate but it wasn't always pushed because they are an international church and some may complain that they dont understand because you may sing something contrary to the word of God

In short summer for the first time ever I am commenting, when the video ended I was seriously clapping and saying thank you over and over again. On our campuses there were same,they suck students of all their stipends, trying to afford luxury for their so called pastors then, thank God for my upbringing at that tender age I could see a lot wrong in that kind of way of doing things.

This ensures the Gospel spreads more easily through trade and transport back and forth from the epicenters of influence into the villages. Some churches operate this way.
Also I am very uncomfortable with the idolization of Pastor Chris. It is one of the pitfalls especially in mega churches where a super charismatic preacher holds so much influence over the congregation. It is borderline cult like. What are these Pastors doing for the community except collect Tithes to make themselves rich. Beautiful churches in neighborhoods that could fix the roads with pavement, buy solar street lights for the neighborhood or blocks sometimes that 5 churches are on. Think about if all those pastors got to get her and. Combined the Tithes to do good in neighborhood. Prepare breakfast at least for school children twice a week, etc.

I was a member of the church,left in 2007. I liked the church though but the pressure to pay for one thing or the other was too much. I didn't have any form of income but my leaders kept pressurising me to give, so I quietly left.
His messages helped me a lot to find myself and know the love of God. For that I remain grateful because prior to that I was going through depression.
