Best snorkeling video I've seen. I wish the difference between the textile strap and silicone strap were discussed a little. Which is easier to use and which is more reliable? Finally, what is the ideal position of the snorkel? When looking straight down the snorkel would be better pushed back behind the ear. When in very shallow water or looking forward the snorkel would be better at or even ahead of the ear. Thanks again for a very good video.

Thank you for your feedback.
In fact, some masks have a silicon strap that serves to keep the mask in place more securely, while others have a textile strap that doesn't get tangled in the hair, which is better for people with long hair.
Finally, the best position is the one explained in the video, head down looking at what's going on below you.

You say there are two types of straps, but then only give instructions for attaching a fabric strap, not a silicone one. It's amazing that none of these videos show you how to actually attach the snorkel to the mask. They just assume you can figure it out, which is not how you instruct beginners.
