Thanks for the fantastic demonstration and details. I have had issues with a traditional snorkel gear using just the mouthpiece and this looks like a great alternative....

I tried a similar model a few years sgo and found if I hadn't shaved that day the seal allowed water to get in ...is that still true today
To be honest, I'm always pretty clean shaven, so I couldn't really say.
As a scuba diver with 15 years experience, any masks wether they are half moon (normal scuba masks) or full face like this one, will tend to leak if not clean shaven. A little bit of vaseline sometimes helps.

My local swimming pool won't allow snorkels. Does anybody else have this problem. I'll get one for holidays though. Thanks for the info Paul.

Also there's a guy who used it and the mask got stuck on his face and couldn't remove it. So, he had to use oil. If there were no air, then he would be dead.
That would be scary having the air cut off especially if you weren’t warned beforehand 😂
Yeah, it can be a bit frightening at first 😅
For new snorkelers, be aware of these masks, this is not just fun and games and can be a deadly trap, try the mask on a pool with the presence of someone that help you out before going to sea, the problem of these masks.. compared with the traditional snorkel/diving/spearfishing mask is that if you cut corners and buy something cheap you risk the fact of breathing also CO2 from your exhales. A traditional mask with a traditional snorkel avoids the fact that you panic if the same get's full of water, the snorkel makes sure you breath in and out while you clean out the water that enters, there have been fatal accidents with masks like these because people often breath in their own CO2 and pass out and subsequently drown, snorkeling as Diving and freediving/spearfishing as it's inherent risks, never do it alone . Subsea is not a bad brand at all, but be wary that these types of masks require some use to, and a traditional mask with a snorkel feels a lot more natural than this, Subsea also has some really decent traditional masks and snorkels, with good silicone to avoid water leaks.
J'ai eu un masque comme celui-ci pendant une période allant jusqu'à 4 ans. Je n'ai jamais entendu parler de personnes décédées à cause de ce masque. Ce masque est destiné aux personnes qui ne savent pas nager. Il les aide à nager. Son risque est faible et il ne peut pas être désobéi par les jeunes enfants car ils ne sont pas qualifiés pour respirer avec un masque comme celui-ci.

But I'm sure people have died from using regular snorkels, or swimming with no snorkel.
People who suffer from underlying cardio-respiratory conditions shouldn't wear full face masks. One woman did die but it wasn't solely down to the mask itself.

@@TheTechGiantTH-cam true but that is usually due to lack of swimming skill not equipment.
Why is EVERY swim test just a fool swimming on top of the water?? That’s NOT what snorkels with the float valves are intended for smdh you’re supposed to be able to free dive with it and not have it leak water into the snorkel tube. THAT is a proper swim test of one of these things 😫😫 swear im never going to find someone who knows how to do a proper swim test. I think these have a good design but I have ALWAYS been sketched out by snorkels especially with this design and no one is doing the swim test correctly to give me confidence in any one single design 🤦♂️
Maybe because those particular masks are not designed to be used for diving, but just for recreational "floaters", as both instruction and most of professional reviews underline.
You cannot decompress using that mask because you have no access to your nose. The instruction manual states that you must no dive with it
