So true I’m a E-5 Sgt radio operator and I’m more proud doing that then if I was a Navy Admiral. Lots of radio men lost there life’s. We were a key target to attack in WW2 and Vietnam and for good reason.

Boy, I can tell you never talked to a military recruiter, they told me more lies in 5 seconds than this guy could tell in a lifetime, didn't hurt the kid anyway, if he isn't connected to somebody high up such as a congressman, senator, governor,president or very high ranking military officer, his chances of getting in the naval academy are somewhere near my chances of being president of the United States, and the kindest thing someone could do is apprise the kid of that fact.

This amazes me. As the wife of a 1/9 Marine, I am shocked at the bragging. My husband is reluctant to speak, in detail, of his service. Most of what I do know, comes from his former Marines, at luncheons and reunions (or the photos, ect....kept in a box). My husband is proud, yet still humble. He did what he did, in loving service to the country and his fellow Marines, not for glory.
Well, it's like they say in Texas;
"The smallest dog barks the loudest."
Mr. McDaniel is a clear example of that.

@Rich Santoro hell yeah man congrats. I'm 3rd generation marine in my family but each duty station my family was at had an issue with partying. We were all so young. If my son ever wanted to join the military I'd tell him to go air force or navy just so a heitmeyer can finally learn something.
Because there is some sort of delusion that being part of SOCOM and doing SF training makes you somehow "better" than anyone else who served, even though a huge part of being SF is being humble about your service.

I used to train in a backyard bodybuilding type gym and the owner was notorious for telling people he'd been everything from special forces to swat to elite athlete. The guys used to call him the highlander because he'd have to be thousands of years old to have done everything he said he did 😂

I know 3 guys that were seals, 2 of which were my dads friends and knew me since I was a little kid. All they have ever talked to me about it was they were seals, NEVER said what team or what they did, just that they were seals. The one I'm friends with told me he was a seal that's it also, but he also said being a seal doesn't mean much, its if you're accepted to a team or squad (which ever they are called) that means something

Don - I served for the 324th general hospital army reserve unit out of Miami, Fl in the late 1980s; it is now a combat hospital unit. My time in as an active reserve was very short and I never saw combat. I went from active reserve to inactive in 1992, and was honorably discharged in 1996. My point is, even though I served, I don't feel like I contributed, and often feel guilty to even say I served. Because my time was so short, and never served for over 180 days in a row actively (minus training), I don't even qualify for benefits... which I am fine with. I would never ask or even thinking of asking. There are plenty of other veterans who need the services of the VA instead of me. I am grateful for your service, and thankful to see that you are showing those who falsely represent real veterans. The military has taught me a great deal when it comes to discipline, respect, and honoring our country. It also taught me to respect the chain of command, and those in the top military positions. This is all still with me today. I just have one question for you. As a Navy Seal, how do you feel about the president intervening to restore and save another Seals career? I'd be happy to read your comments. I also understand it's a loaded question. I am not interested in the politics, just the moral and strategic view. Thank you.
