      @@menditman2004 I know a guy that has been servicing a fleet of sprinters for 20 years. I am so paranoid about doing the job myself that anytime an injector seal fails I drive it down to him. Great video, subscribed.

      How much is this at a garage?

  • @robflob9393

    i got all mine out with a pair of molegrips, on a cold engine after cleaning carbon built up to the top of the plastic cover. If you patiently clean the area around the injector of carbon then that helps with removal. I did not cut the seats , i made a circular sandpaper tool to lightly clean , lots of time spent cleaning mainly, and spray carbon cleaner, wd40, spray engine de-greaser.
    I don't think a garage would be able to dedicate this much time to get it as clean as I had achieved, if so it would cost about 2k in labour.

      Hi congratulations on sorting your injectors, I don’t know if you’ve seen the full series of videos on this but I had bad lack with the clamp bolt on the back injector. Also the leak had mad a groove in the seat meaning a light sand wouldn’t have fixed it. It’s been a few month now and the vans running great. It’s a dirty horrible job but it’s so satisfying when it’s fixed😁 thanks for watching🙂👍

      @@menditman2004 ah yes , i now see what problems you had .. i didnt watch all till the end , but watched front injector removal video over and over , thanks for sharing it, my main point was , mine was really badly carboned up, and with a cold engine it is actually possible to remove after hours and hours of cleaning. If engine isnt running or van is outside your house on busy street then cold engine removal is possible…the more info out there the better. great videos.

      my fuel return broke so i replaced that , and also 2 of the electrical connectors broke on removal. but nothing compared to the bad luck you had , we’ll done for enduring it and succeeding .

      Yes if the weathers good tomorrow, I’ll be tackling that one. I’m a bit more confident now even though the back one will be tricker as access is harder, thanks for watching🙂👍

      @@menditman2004 Well done, I am restoring a T1N on my channel, I will tackle most jobs on the old sprinters but, I am really paranoid about removing injectors

      @@zambotv8150 Hi I was the scare stories I was told TBH removing wasn’t that bad for me, perhaps I was just lucky. But I do thing soaking them in WD40 as I was using the van did help no end. The final one I had never repaired popped October last year it only took me about and hour to sort, that one almost fell out. If you do attempt it just take your time and you should be ok. Good luck and thanks for watching 🙂👍

    • @menditman2004
      @menditman2004  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi I got them from eBay, don’t seem to be available on there atm, Honda dealer would be the place to go, Honda seals are by far the best ones to use, I’ve just done another injector repair and the bottom of the injector wasn’t brilliant, but it sealed and has been good now for well over a week. Hope this helps thanks for watching🙂👍

    HI SO WHAT CLEANER DID YOU USE IN THE END TO CLEAN ENGINE.

    • @menditman2004
      @menditman2004  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Shane a mix started off with a spray on oven cleaner DR MAGIC, then carb cleaner and let some diesel soak in and in the end let some WD40 soak in. So I used the lot it seemed to work. Well happy ones done now the other one to tackle. Thanks for watching🙂👍
