Great, concise video. I'm in the process of repairing the No:3 locking bolt on my 2.2 CDI Sprinter. I'm pleased it's not the back one, but your video gives a great insight on how to cope with the awkwardness. I used a turbo cleaning spray to melt the carbon, but probably the same stuff in a different can! Love the home made slide hammer.
I'm not a mercedes diesel mechanic. But my foolproof method of black death injector removal is to loosen the the hold down clamp a few turns, and run the engine until you hear it pop out.
Thank you my friend! I am driving a fully secured OM606 thanks to your video on injector pump seals. Your videos are the best as they don't skip the parts that are hard to film. I was considering a E320 but am having second thoughts now. We know I need to move to Toyota or Lexus but until I do seeing your videos is like seeing an old friend.
I will have to try that carb cleaner on a sheared off glow plug that Aero-Kroil hasn't been able to budge for going on 6 months now... Those 642 injectors are a different variant than what I'm dealing with on om648 where high pressure threads are not on top or in perfect alignment with injector body but instead off-center like where return line nipple is located on that one so that slide hammer tool wouldn't work for me but I like it did the job for you! Very impressed you were able to salvage those brittle plastic clips from disintegration. Not only injector bore but also TTY clampdown bolt hole will need thorough cleaning from looks of what came out. It's a very labor intensive process which is not fully appreciated by anyone who has never had to do it so good that you're taking the time like Tasos Moschatos to make it immaculately clean before reassembly.
Hi, and thank you for your video. I have to do this work on my 2007 JEEP Commander CRD too, along with the oil cooler change. Looking forward to see the cleaning process of the injector tube and screw hole too. Thanks!
o hello i have a 2008 jeep grand Cherokee with om642 engine has 11 mpg aveg that is very bad diesel milage and no check engine. i changed gas filter and air filter already. can you help please
Hi there I wanna use CeraTec for my 2013 Mercedes’ Vito 122 cdi, any recommendations welcome Does that can damage the engine intervals or it’s ready not harmful and a real inti friction…. Thanks in advance
Tak sa to vobec nerobi. Ma sa pouzit iny vytahovak. Mal ste len stastie ze isiel lahko vytiahnut. -- That is incorrect prcedure. There is diffrent injector puller for this job, which has to be used. You had only luck that injector has been quite easily removed.

Just "invented" similar DIY tool but wasn't sure about thread damage. Your vid gave me the certainty it won't . Thank you!
Good call on the leak off o rings, I had no end of problems with leak off pipes coming off until I replaced them.
