Band BIO:
Lovebites is a Japanese all-female heavy metal band, formed in 2016 by former Destrose members Miho and Haruna. Its lineup consists of Miho on bass, Haruna on drums, Midori and Miyako on guitar, and Asami on vocals. After signing to Victor Entertainment, the group released both their debut EP and their first album, The Lovebites EP and Awakening from Abyss, in 2017 before performing their first overseas concerts at the end of the year.
FUN FACTS about band:
- Although hailing from Tokyo, Lovebites' music is heavily influenced by the new wave of British heavy metal which led their music to be compared to Iron Maiden and Rage
- The group frequently collaborates with former Light Bringer keyboardist Mao on composing and arranging songs.
- Haruna has played drums since she was thirteen years old, and began writing songs on a keyboard at fourteen
- Miyako has played classical piano since she was three and guitar since high school

Great reaction. When Miyako brings out the Les Paul, it’s incredible. And Miyakos backing track on organ, a nod to Lords Hammond organ in Deep Purple, a fav of Miyako.. Still hoping you try songs: Burden of time- live studio, and Under the red sky- live at Mynavi blitz. Burden of time is live in their studio, out of their usual stage white attire. Miyako plays guitar and piano same time. Scream for me- live studio great song with multiple back and forth solos. Yes Midori is the flashier soloist. But Miyako solo here, is so much emotion, very Gary Moore like, an influence of hers.
Nemophila dropped their song Life live outside, very emotional song. Dissension, and Oiran are so incredible live outside, the stage presence is incredible, the hair banging, is art. Each song live at Naon Yaon 2021.

BURDEN OF TIME!!!! I love the southern rock flava to the song. You can't forget the greatness that is Miyako either. In a of pace, Midori plays a soulful solo, which is good to see her do. Asami, what else can say, except greatness. Haruna gets a rest on this song, doesn't go on full nuke reactor that she usually does.
Nemophila "Life" at Naon Yaon is SO GOOD. Love it!

Somewhere Gary Moore is smiling at the Melodic Queen, and every time she pulls out that Les Paul look out!! The organ was also a nice touch even though it was a backing track, hey even Lovebites can't play 2 instruments at once....oh wait Burden of Time Studio, Miyako plays the fret and the keyboard to support Midori's solo, NEVER MIND!!!! Just got up, I'm starting my day with this. I know it will be killer, because this is the best pair of contrasting solos in one song, ever. Not even Allman/Clapton ever achieved this.
Judas Priest "Painkiller" has got some killer solos. And I love the guitar solo in the Dream Theater Song "Under A Glass Moon". But yeah.... "the M & M show" is at the top of the mountain right now!

You two are guitarists, so let's talk shop here. What Miyako is doing during the chorus is called a double stop. What she is doing is she's playing a two different frets: for example, an A on high E string, 5th fret, and a G on the B string, 8th fret. She's then bending the G on the B string up a full step to match the A that she's playing on the high E string, so you're getting the same note played at the same time on 2 different strings. It gives you unison when the notes match, but slight dissonance when they are out of unison. The same thing is done when Midori is towards the end of her solo. It's an old blues lick that guitarists Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, and Eric Clapton use all the time.. George Lynch will use them from time to time as well. As long as it isn't overdone, it can be effective.
