Instead of actually testing a certain archetype/synergy/strategy he just tries a few of the cards mixed up with a pile of generic/predictable/boring stuff and calls it a new deck. Then, when it inevitably turns out to be a lesser version of the meta-deck he used as a foundation, he dismisses it as little more than a joke. It's not always like this, but it happens very often. I know a lot of people like him and that's okay, but I find him frustrating most of the time. It's just really hard to find quality standard content, I wish I had an unlimited supply of LVD videos.
@dumplingdepinto he makes a video every single day, he tries to make decks that people can copy and win with, because of that, there are going to be "meta" cards and playing 4 copies of trash cards isn't going to make the cut most times. If you want jank that sometimes works, go watch mono black magic.
@@Hobbes2718 No. I'm allowed to watch and respectfully criticize whatever I want. He makes a video every day because he wants to, that doesn't mean his work can't be disliked by his viewers, even if that irritates you. I'm sure he can take it and if not, he clearly chose the wrong career. PS. It's not that the cards are shitty, it's just that some players/brewers actually try to see the cards' potential, while others look for ways to fit those new cards into existing decks. The former shape the meta while the latter just report their findings and take the credit.

Ultimately his goal with standard vids is to present an “off-meta” deck that’s competitive on ladder. I say that acknowledging that “off-meta” is loosely defined and he certainly does present decks that are easily 90% within the meta.
