Don't comment often but just want to say that the last 5 minutes of that game was some of the best and most entertining EDH I've ever seen.
God Max REALLY made Mackenzie work for that W! Had so many answers! Definitely enjoyed the last sequence!

The game got straight up silly when there were only two players left. That’s a nutty sequence of plays.
This was an incredibly entertaining and interactive game (especially those last 5 min)! Excellent job presenting all the plays so clearly every turn. Your channel is easily the best for play-by-play commander gameplay so thank you for everything you do!
Ok this was a sweet game and very unique decks. I loved the unusual cards from Athreos and Yarok Energy is something new for me.

Love seeing papa mistform. Got a win with him week or two ago and always enjoy seeing the father of that deck. If you have a bilbos ring, I recommend putting it in there. Super good with him!

Look up Mythic Frames "Nordic Mistform"
I've tried running the "Don't Lose" cards before, but only ever one in a deck. 4+ is an interesting strategy!
Did I miss something? I think Max can't pay 6 life at the point he doesn't have life. Otherwise: Nice defense. Why did you bounce the False Prophet instead of the Athreos?
Thought so too but Black Market Connections is lose life, not pay life.

Sometimes someone gets bullied throughout the game despite not being a big threat that game. Micah had one of those games, except Micah just wanted to do degenerate stuff with board wipes

If there is a target, yes.
@@TT-gc3ze Oh, so you are able to cast it without there being a target. Does the same thing work for cards like decimate?
@@nosebleed9432 no because you only need to target something with the "enther the battlefield" ability of the creature and not to cast it. Decimate needs all legal targets to be cast

Max should not have gotten any benefits from Black Market Connections with his life at 0.
In the comprehensive rules under 119.4: if a cost or an effect allows a player to pay an amount of life greater than 0, the player made you so if the amount they wish to pay is greater than or equal to the cost.
I don't believe it would change the outcome too much but just saying for everyone if you don't have enough resources to pay for any cost in the game you can't get the benefits.

i'm not saying that Mistform Ultimus shouldn't be run as a commander option at all anymore since the introduction of Orvar, the All-Form, but i can't enjoy a game where someone decides to use Mistform Ultimus. It's not you, it's me.
Ultimus doesn't really guide your deck building process like Orvar does so I can see why he choses it. He tried swapping them out but there just wasn't any synergy with what he wanted to do.
I mean Mistform is extremely sketch, but the problem with Orvar is, that it is a very threatening commander, so it will rarely stay on the battlefield for long. If you want to focus on the changeling part, it makes sense to run Mistform.
