You are really doing a lot of work recently. I think everybody should appreciate that and at least spend some money to keep it going. I bought the chessable course yesterday - it's certainly worth the money!
No money in my pockets so I don't say no against some free lessons from Simon! Yes, give it to me maestro grande! I need to have learned something against the haves!
Ne6 is the fourth most common move in the lichess database. The third most common move, d6 is three times more common. The second most common move is O-O which gives white a target and therefore a clearer plan. Ne6 and O-O are covered in the full course
@@zachsoto7621 I much prefer Ne6. There are drawbacks with h6, d6 and O-O. Ne6 simply asks white whether he would move the dark-squared bishop or trade off his light-squared bishop for the e6 knight.
20:30 “Slicker… slicker than… weasel poo… on a wet… drainpipe” you could see his brain trying to come up with something clever but there was too much chess inside it already 😂
I hope your complete course covers more than just 8...Be6 and 8...Bg4 in the d6 variation. I'm a 2200 who has been playing the original Kolty for many years - and that is f4 not Bg5. I tried your "Kolty" variation and was not able to show any advantage after my opponent played 8...0-0 in the d6 variation. I was so perturbed by this I put it on Stockfish 13 - it didn't find any advantage for white neither. If you're going to gambit a pawn I think 7. f4 is much sounder than 7. Bg5. Black has fewer options after 7. f4 and is quite likely to end up in a horrible bind assuming he doesn't get crushed by tactics. Have a look at Koltanowski's pamphlet on this opening for the ideas on 7. f4. Cheers.
I didn’t know that this has a name. Been playing this line whenever the giuoco piano comes on the board after playing the Italian opening as White. D4 just seems very explosive if I don’t play the Ponziani or the slow d3, 0-0 game. Learned much better variations following d4 in this video though, so many thanks! Subbed! 😀
You are the best person, who can demonstrate the gambit play in a perfect way!!!
You finally made me start learning 1.e4 after eight years of 1.d4! I tried one game, played the Wing gambit, won in 14 moves and got hooked! 🤣
Followed up by a 18 move win with the advance French. 😅

Deadly risk free gambit. I am sold!
Thank you so much Mr. Simon. I enjoyed your video and learn a lot of things, the god bless you
Amazing Simon! Nice to see you again, teaching us opening with mini-series (I loved the London System and Black Lion ones)
Quality stuff Si!
excellent video very well explained. I'm going to put it into practice. greetings from Argentina

this is very well researched. i will be trying this in my games
Excellent Analysis...
Thanks 👍 👍 👍
Very well explained as always. Thanks for sharing!
Yo one of my favourite gambits!
cant wait to play this!
Simon, stay away from the Koltanoski. Don't reveal any of my secrets now, or your beer tab will be shortened. 🤫
Thanks a lot
At 7:14, why just h6 and d6 as top moves? Surely, Ne6 should be considered. It hits the bishop on g5 and softens the bishop's scope on c4.

Such an interesting opening! Need to try it though. =)

This gambit is pure madness.. :') But quite difficult to memorize!
How do you spell Koltanowski?
I'm not cheap, I'm just broke.
I'm not broke AND I bought the course
@Detra Cherchio no you didn't gtfo scammer
I've never heard what a Deutz Gambit is, turns out I've been unknowingly playing that gambit since I was 800 rated
"Hello, my name is Harry." He doesn't get enough attention, does he? With you on his side, he'll get the notoriety he deserves. 😁

More chess lines like this ....more phychocowboy too
I thought this was called the Deutz Gambit?
I think it has multiple names
I absolutely HATE playing against this line. I avoid it at all costs.
you know that you should correct the title of your video asap, right? »koltanoski« …
