David is such a phenomenal guitar player. No words can adequately describe how good he is at playing guitar and the incredible tones he gets with his signature PRS guitar and amp. His tone is as big as Texas and thick as molasses. I never get tired of hearing him play. What a massive talent and he is a very humble guy that is willing to share how he gets his sound. The encore here was downright nasty and funky to the core. What a groove! Thanks for posting this. The video and sound quality were both excellent.
Wow. His tone on the Allman Brothers stuff is off the chart perfect. Awesome guitar player, and from the few interviews I’ve seen, just a down to earth humble guy. Can’t wait to delve deeper into this cat’s music.
David is such a great and unique player incorporating country, blues, rock, jazz, and fusion all into his unique style of playing with such great tones! He’s one of a kind, and such a great humble guy when I had the great pleasure of talking with him after a stellar show at the Saxon in Austin… Both of us being DGT PRS players made for a great conversation 😀😀
Hands down one of the best performances I've seen. What talent across the board. I wish I was there and I definitely have to get out to see this band live. Incredible playing, tone, and musicianship!!! Great songs. Beyond enjoyable to watch!!!
I was thinking the same thing. If I was going into battle I would want these guys behind me. DG is awesome of course but there is so much power behind him.
@five watt world: It's either weird or that algorithm people keep talking about but I just watched the video you recorded with David acting as a special guest. You were asking the age old question: Where to spend the money, Guitar or amp? I dig your videos, BTW. I've been a subscriber for a long time time. But this has been a David Grissom kind of evening for me. I started with the Truetone Lounge, then your video and now this concert from The Saxon Pub, just a few blocks away from my house. I guess that's full circle. This also reminds me that I need to see as many shows from musicians that I love, while I still have the time. None of us are getting any younger. Great video @Key2rock2!
great show, I'm blown away! thank you for sharing. I just bought a new PRS, David Grissom Gold top... Amazing axe! The raves are incredible. Thanks again and again...Keep on blessing the world, David!
Finally doin' a deep listening to David Grissom and here's a good place to kick it off, imo! Man, Tone oozing from DG's hands out through the speakers, sublime! A bit later on for me but glad to be along for the ride! Bon voyage!
I'm consumed w/ learning these licks and progressions!....My wife is really going to wonder why I haven't got anything done, at my house....killer show.....can't wait to see more.
Wonderful video and audio! I've made it to the Saxon a few times over the years to catch David, always phenomenal! Bryan, Scott and Stefano are incredible as well. I've watched this video a few times and will again I'm sure. Thanks for sharing!
I tried to post this video on Facebook. I was told that it it went against Community Standards for language involving sexual activity . Looks like A I gone crazy.
I have to agree, but it’s yet another facet of David Grissom. I’ve met him in person and watched him demo his Signature model at the PRS factory. His tone was remarkably clean, and still 100% “Grissom”. Listening back, this almost sounds like his amp is being pushed waaaay past it’s sweet spot.
Yeah, I agree here. I've listened to a ton of Grissom for a long time, but just getting to this video. I normally think he has some of the best blues rock tone on the the planet, but here it's a little oversaturated and crispy. Don't know if it's his sound or how it's recorded. I generally think the amp in the room sound he gets at the Saxon is as good as you can get in a room that size while having a great mix.
David Grissom is severely under-rated as a guitar slinger. He’s as solid as a rock. An unmistakable tone.
Yeah man, what a talented 🎸dude !!...
Thanks for the 🎶 music guys, soundin' awesome :-]
Mainstream music isn't made by musicians anymore. Here's talent
I'm here all day for that crunch.

A performance by musicians. Refreshing :) Soooo cool to see these guys jamming, practicing their craft, enjoying the rush..making music.

He was in the Allman Brothers for a bit.

Good grief. What a band. The bass player is out of this world! In fact they’re all stunning.
Edit: I’m back. That keys player - good gracious!
I was thinking the same thing. If I was going into battle I would want these guys behind me. DG is awesome of course but there is so much power behind him.
Bass is epic, yeah whole band is amazing
SO great of you to have this here. Fantastic production as well!

Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks
Whatever is in the water down in the lone star state, I need to start drinking it.
Have to go to Austin/TXS
//SAXON
DG is either a music graduate or had guitar lessons from great music teachers. He knows music theory by heart.
Great David and the band too!!
Terrific guitar great band
great music ... let it play !!
Great Energy!
great band, and great guitar-ness...
Great band
Yes indeed! Here goes my Saturday. Wife has honey do’s for me, but she didn’t anticipate my new friend Dave. 😂
Great stuff
wow, how is today the first day I've discovered these guys? Freakin awesome!!
Check out Storyville
YO BUT WHO THE FUCK THAT KEYBOARD PLAYER THO GOOD LAWWWWD
Tim Pierce and Paul Reed Smith brought me here and I am hapy to stay for a spell
That's what I call good music(ians)!
Local legends.
Killer player for sure. And great tone even though notes get lost in the murk!
Hard to tell if he’s using fuzz or he’s just raunchy! That’s the cool thing about DG
Remember when he ore it up with Lucinda ?
Is he playing through a Dumble?
Is this Texas blues ? it’s more like billy gibbons, this is insanely good playing 😮
Name of the first song??
Sqwawk ...
Could be the best Texas player since Johnny winter
David si que sabe hacer sonar una McCarty. Se escucha gordita. Un gran artista

Tore
Fgreat playin and band not keen on his tone though ❤️😎 bit too much gain
I dunno, reminds me a lot of Billy Gibbons, and that ain't bad in my book.

@@reddsshaker3477 so many facets to his tone that I feel lucky just to have copped one or two of them!
