As a small dairy farmer, I really like the compact size of your milking parlor and pit. Since we have goats (just under 40 head), we use milking stands in our parlor and though we have a pipeline vacuum system, we don't have a line for milk and therefore use several bucket milkers. Anyway, I really like your system.
I noticed that you used a metal strainer when manually adding to your bulk tank and I am wondering if you have different dairy regulations than we have in Vermont, as we are not permitted to use woven-wire utensils of any kind due to that being a food/bacteria trap. Any crossing of wires must be physically joined with a weld or be molded as in a plastic mesh. Our state Agency of Agriculture regulations are identical to the federal Grade "A" Pasteurized Milk Ordinance. Just wondering if your regulations are different.
Thanks 😀 well we have constant testing of microbiological state of the milk and I don't think there's much emphasis on what you shouldn't use, as long as the microorganisms in the milk are below a certain limit. 🤔 There are recommendations of course 😉 thanks for your question 🙂
@@farmerspov4709 Thanks for your reply. We have the same microbial testing as you (they sample our milk every four weeks). Because we are also a cheese-making creamery, we have to perform an antibiotic self-test using the Delvo Mini-P kit for each batch of milk that we process. If you are in the situation where a tanker picks up your milk, then the destination plant would be the one to perform the antibiotic test. Anyway they keep us farmers on our toes so the consumer gets the best quality product we can give them. Best, Peter.

Greath video i also working with cows but just in summer in Alps in Switzerland people dont realize how hard this job actually is..But i like working wiht animals just sometime is too much i work 13 sometime 15 hours per day no day of 98 day non stop ..Is not just milking ,cleaning but also make chesse prepare food for cows and so many other think like i say its no ease job--

dont recognise the breed of cows you have what are they? a dual breed? how much milk do they give?
They are simmentals, some of them are crossbred with red holstein or montbeliard and the gray ones are brownswiss breed 😉 simmentals average around 7500 l in standard lactation on our farm 😉

I find clipping the hair on their tails makes them much cleaner in the milking parlour

TMR for our cows currently consist of grass and corn silage, hay, dry corn and barley, pumpkins, canola, sugar, baking soda and vitamins 😉
Add some herbs in their diet and then see the result you get more healthy yours cows

Hi. Yes, we are happy with them, they average around 7500 l per year on our farm, with 4,5 % fat and 3,5% protein. Most are very robust animals and give great bull calves 😉

@@farmerspov4709 Is there a reason you don't spray off the cows when milking? Too cold? It's hard to know if your cows are healthy when you can't see most of their skin. You are very dedicated farmers though
We wash them if needed but it's best to keep the udder as dry as possible. Well I guess its hard to tell through those videos but since we are just a small farm we try to really take care of their health... Thanks 🙂

It is absolutely disgusting to see all the shit around the utter and you do not clean it off very well. It turns me off to wanting to ever consume any milk products.
Relax, it ain't as bad as it looks on camera 😅 of course some cows can be dirtier sometimes, but I make sure that nothing goes into the milk line. As you can see I clean them with dry towel, if I would spray water around, it would make things worse as it could start dripping down the udder... 🙄 However, I use water where needed 😉 I assure you the milk doesn't get contaminated, after all I drink it myself 😉
