LAPDCOPS.COM: ADAM-12 NOW & THEN Locations Part 3
In the first 3 seasons, streets near Temple and Benton Way (RAMPART STATION) were filmed and used as stock footage. Most scenes and additional stock footage was filmed near the studio and in a sound stage at Universal Studios.
For the most part, location filming was always done near the studio, but different angles were used to give the illusion of different locations with stock footage inserted.
The authentic LAPD Radio Calls inserted are from 1967 and originally recorded to audition possible dispatchers for the new ADAM-12 series. Shaaron (then Claridge) Snead was chosen from the many LAPD dispatchers that were considered.
