They seamed to have pursed more than their share of what turned out to be hot women wearing short dresses , just like the old automobile commercials in the old days .
At 11:41 married man Reed is driving an old 1963 Ford Falcon while bachelor Malloy shows up in his brand new 1968 Ford Mustang . They know how to stick it to married men !
Albeit I do remember an episode where Reed and his wife are going to meet Mallow and his GF for the night and he was driving a pretty sweet Blue C2 Corvette.
Yeah funny, even funnier is in the late 90s one of my best friends bought a 1963 Ford Fairlain with a mid engine it was black with red interior it was in great shape and he loved that car although a lot of our coworkers gave him crap for it!!

I’m so glad I found your channel. I love looking at all of the great cars that were on the road while I was growing up in the 60s. Especially Adam 12, my dad loved cop shows and this was one of his favorites. Another great show with a lot of different sets of wheels is the Mod Squad. The first ride of the trio was an iconic 1950 Woody wagon that met a sad end, followed by a variety of Mopar muscle. Throughout the series, there were other cars that were prominently displayed… Corvette stingray convertibles and Rolls Royces just to name a few and plenty of motorcycles as well. The series it has 126 episodes so it’s a lot to go through but worth it just to check out all of the great cars.
Pete! Pete! Pete! You should have taken the 911 Targa. I was lucky enough to grow up in 60's-70's Hollywood and got to see quite a bit of location filming and I think Adam-12 was probably the one I saw the most.
Great show, extra enjoyable for car spotting, but in some episodes you can also spot the yellow brown air - the kind of pollution that I would loose my voice and great a massive headache. Every thing wasn’t great in the ‘good old days’!
I used to watch this show and many others along with movies on TV with my dad (RIP). He was a car guy and taught me a lot. Dad would call out the year make and model of all the cars he saw and also give me info about them.
I actually MET both of these guys at a car show in Boston in 1974. Got their Autographs. I was only 12 at the time. Wish I still had those autographs, They were stolen from me about 10 years ago.
My mom had a 1970 Plymouth Belvedere Station wagon through much of the 70s. It was metallic bright blue, with lots of chrome, and the front end looked like the Adam 12 car 🚙 with a wagon back end it was really basic with a 318 2 barrel and was quick and comfortable for a wagon. It was my first car in my junior year and I had a lot of fun times in that car, I installed a custom stereo system with amp and 8 track and quad speakers I even installed triaxials in the hard bed in back that I could raise and blast rock at parties at the lake, etc even put a thin mattress in back and blankets to take dates to the drive in, had a LOT of dates back there!! If that car could talk my mom would have been shocked!! 😂
Ooh! I love it! Around 5:35 they pass by a 1960s Dairy Queen! I'd forgotten about how their signs used to look like that! One thing I got a kick out of watching this show for several seasons was their constant use of "Ocean, Ida Victor" as a combination of the letters on many of the licence plates they were calling in! Haha!

I've been re-watching Adam-12 over the last year or so, not because of the storylines (some were good, some not so good), but because of the incredible cars shown in the background, and sometimes as main vehicles on the show!! All great cars they drove, pulled over and the ones in the background during their entire run.. Didn't care too much for the AMC Matador's they had to use near the end of the run, but hey... Pete was very proud of his brand new one.. Why he gave up the 68 Mustang convertible I'll never know! You could always tell who sponsored the vehicles in any of the popular shows of that era by how many of them you would see in all the scenes!

There was one episode, not sure which season, in which there was a beautiful white 66 Charger parked in front of a Shell station. It was just there as background but it could not have looked any better if it had been staged there by the Chrysler marketing staff. Ok, maybe it was staged there but it sure was eye catching!

Otis became Mayberry’s ice cream truck driver in his later years.
A lot of the full size luxury cars and wagons with huge engines could really move! They were what we called “grannies’ hot rods”.

There was one episode, not sure which season, in which there was a beautiful white 66 Charger parked in front of a Shell station. It was just there as background but it could not have looked any better if it had been staged there by the Chrysler marketing staff. Ok, maybe it was staged there but it sure was eye catching!
