You are very welcome, your page is fantastic, and has helped a lot. By the way I still haven't been successful in budging those Torx screws on the tailgate I am going to ask the dealership to do it.
These ones work fine without cutting the tub liner with a few minor adjustments. I don't have the expertise like Adam to put up a video but would be willing to help with any info you need.
Do you find that the cut out on the liner causes any issues with dust or water? Apart from that when you take the swing draw out it looks just a bit unfinished , wondering if you have thought of a way to make the tub liner look neater
I'm thinking it might be a nice spot for an air compressor for an airbag helper kit, with plug in infiltrator for the tyres etc. Have everything in the 1 box with controls on the outside with PSI gauge's for airbags. Could also add some charging points etc. Whilst it would be more of a permanent fixture I personally think it might work well. Thoughts? as it may not be the best solution.
Yeah could be good. Thing I like about these is how easy they are to remove. Went and got a load of firewood on the weekend and took all of 30secs to remove both so they wouldn't get banged up. I'm planning on a permanent box setup using the dead space under the roller shutter for battery and compressor etc. Just doing the design now :)
@@VideoShowMeHow This is exactly how I would like to do mine. Can't find a suitably sized box off the shelf, so may have to be a custom job. Keen to see how you do it.
Hi Adam. Great video mate thank you for sharing. I’m pretty much sold on these but have one question about them- is there any noise from them when your driving? They seem fairly secure in the stowage position and I just wanted to know if they rattle when you’re off road etc? Cheers.
I wonder if you could heat the tub liner with a heat gun and push it back against the metal tub with some suitably sized and shaped pieces of wood to get the required clearances for the brackets and storage containers without cutting the tub liner at all? I don't mind drilling holes in my tub liner that will be filled with bolts, but I don't want to cut it out. Would you please be able to test how flexible the tub liner material is with the pieces you have cut out when it is heated with a heat gun?
Great idea well worth a test. Liner is super thick but you never know. Bit late for me, but would be interested to see the results of someone tries this method!
@@VideoShowMeHow I've just ordered 2 of the same boxes for $311.35 delivered so I'll try it out when they arrive. If it can't be done without cutting the tub liner I'll just sell them.
@@VideoShowMeHow Great news, my boxes arrived today and they can be fitted without any cutting of the tub liner. I just did a few simple bracket modifications and only 4 holes needed to be drilled in each side through the tub liner for the bolts . I also used a heat gun to reposition parts of the liner so that the swing boxes sit in as close to the tub sides as possible. The liner is very easily moulded into shape when heated with a heat gun. The swing boxes are contacting the plastic covers that go over the roller cover brackets when closed and they are square with the roller cover runners so they are fitted in a close as possible to give maximum room in the middle of the tray. I also removed my tail light assemblies and drilled the bolt holes into the top of the brackets from the tail light side. This is much safer than drilling through from the inside towards the tail light. I also fitted normal nuts on the top bracket bolts behind the tail lights rather than riv-nuts as they are stronger and more reliable. The drain hoses will need some reworking though, so I'll either use 3 x 90 degree elbows on each side or get some hard plastic air line and try heating and bending it into shape so they are clear of the boxes. I'm also going to re-position the release lever to make it easier to get to. I was going to buy these boxes a couple of months ago, but was unsure of the quality, thanks for doing your vid so I could check them out before buying.
@@gwhite618 nice! Thanks for reporting back. I found you can one hand the level pretty easy with the right hand for right box if that makes sense. Working on a pipe solution for the drain also, thinking of going into tub to drain down between

Your explanation of installation is awesome. So easy to follow and very descriptive. Keep it up. Thanks for the tips.
Cheers 👍
Be interested to know if there is a unit that doesnt require cutting tub liner - sort of defeats the purpose of tub liner really
Since filming this one ordered some Dyna mat type material to test filling the gap down over over the lip if that makes sense. See how it goes.

Good video but Just a heads up the link you posted for the boxes is wrong.
You have put the HSP tailgate link instead of the boxes.
Oh really? Will update, cheers 👍

Hey mate, do you still use these and have any issues with them? I’m tossing up between this or a the tailgate storage one you did also.
Yep still using, going well
Nice. Thanks again.
Hey mate did you ever do the vid you mentioned to reposition the drain hose?
No I have, never did the hose in fact, some hope doesn't seem to drain at all so I haven't bothered
Are these pretty durable and water proof tossing up between these or swing case
So far so good :) They're a solid unit and I'l leave them in when gernie'ing out the tub and no water
Awesome video, thanks Adam! Do you get any water in your tub or does the roller cover keep it all out?
Cheers! Yeah roller cover is pretty good, even if it's caking down there's usually only a very small bit that gets in
