I saw them at Hammond Civic Center maybe 73, 74 Shared a joint with Rod Evans ( original Deep Purple voice ! ) One of life's greatest experience. Awesome
Aqui no Brasil tem bastante 60 yo. que curte o Capitão Benhudi! É assim que pronuncia por aqui! Captain Beyond Budgie Dust Judas Priest Manfred Man Lucifer's Friend Frank Marino etc. 🎵🖖🏻😉🎶
Absolutely the best song by Captain beyond by far I love all their stuff it’s really sad they never got the recognition they should’ve I always recognized them and I pushed along what ways I could I turned everybody I knew and then he where I went I had a cassette tape with the song on it which I had lots of tips and tapes with this on it a mystical space in the head and hart song It’s a remedy of thinking with feelings thanks for the post they were beyond ther time
A band that very few of us lucky bastards will ever know my afraid, and I've only had too good fortune too know them for bout last 12 yrs, thank God for bad azz brothers in law
Man you ain’t kidding, wish he would at least give an interview on what he’s been doing with himself all these years gone by as well as tell us what it was like being in and with the guys in Captain Beyond, how the band got together what the vibe was like between the band members, how was it recording the albums were they satisfied with the results and did they even realize that they made such a classic album that is just as great as anything Deep Purple had done. I’m POSITIVE if they would have continued they would have matched and in some cases surpass whatever Deep Purple was doing. Damn I just can’t help wondering what if they would have stayed together what could have been.
Yes I love this album too. They added a percussionist from Santana. It's a great album I love the flavor on this album a little different from the other two but he kind of grows on you after you listen to
Robert Bishop I am filled with a joy in seeing your response to this mans talent. I’m not one of those people that jumps on the bandwagon don’t need others to direct or select my tastes. And yet I am open to suggestions recommendations I like being informed and turned on (hey don’t we all) to things in general that are WOW me. Now with that all texted it seems to me that Deep Purple fans or just fans in general don’t really have a full appreciation of Rod Evans style attributes I guess it’s the way of his vocal style or lack thereof which may or may not have put them off right, I tend to lean towards the fact that Evans doesn’t have the Power Pipes delivery of a Plant, Perry, Rodgers, Mercury, Cummings, Coverdale, Halford, Turner, Dio My queen Joplin oh boy almost forgot his replacement Gillian then there’s the great vocalists these would be the cats that are not like the previous group I mentioned this group can hit notes
@@tonygarcia179 Progressive rock was largely forgotten eventually, hence why modern fans of deep purple don't even listen to the first albums. DP turned more hard rockish later and that's what brought them their success.
I saw them at the Hammond civic center. Unbelievable now that i think about it. I lit a joint took a hit, and passed it to Rod Evans, he finished in one toke, wow. What an awesome memory
Am I the only one that wishes the ending was a 20 minute jam session? Wish this song was longer and also wish Monster Magnet, Fu manchu, or the original Kyuss could do a remake.
Mag Pie, yeah, I'm another Bobby Caldwell fan. He was a big hit in Japan, but overlooked by Americans. This Sufficiently Breathless album was among the playlist when we partied at Ashland College back in 73. What a great bunch of tunes. I miss those days which, in retrospect, were golden before this world got completely corrupted. Even then, though, plans were afoot. Blessings to all! As the Yogi teabag said "We are here to love and uplift each other." Starglow Energy indeed.. we are from many stars. Btw, Bobby Caldwell passed recently.
I'm trying to remember Santana's Conga men. Sorry, trying to remember the name. The name in my head 💀...Mungo ( If anyone is interested, let me know his name Thank you...
The golden voice of Rod Evans and the compositional skills of Lee Dorman from Iron Butterfly
GENIUS
I've been a big fan since 1970. THE most underrated band in my lifetime. And I'm 70.
I totally agree!
Favorite song on earth!
Heard it in 73 when I was 15 still hearing it 😇

For me since 1972
Sufficiently Breathless
1973 , where have you gone 🤔
What a beautiful song. Something about it is so ethereal and mystical. As if it was sent to us from a very distant future....
Almost Famous. Live a life of peace and love forevermore.
This song still gives me chills and i'm 22.
22, hell, I'll be 70 in a month, and same here, we used to cover this as our closing song!!
I was 15 when this album was released and their creative genius still blows me away!
So was I.
And yes they still do.
This song has always been in my life. Can't imagine it not being there.
God bless you Rod.. Wherever you are.

I still have the LP. A guy I met when I was home on leave from my Army duty in the early 70's recommended it to me; I never was disappointed.

So cool
Remember that Robin Williams said oh Captain my Captain reminds me of this song
one of best hardrock band ever rock on rock hard captain beyond
The vocals for this band will always be Rod Evans. No one can put the emotion he could into these awesome songs.

Certainly the best surprise album that I bought in the 70's that I never knew what was I was going to get!!! :D
Uma das músicas mais lindas que já ouvi.
Song always gives me the chills in a good way.
In a parallel universe Deep Purple with Rod Evans made a new album yesterday..
I know this man I am sufficiently breathless aren't you
Yes all day.
After dancing madly backwards, you bet
Awesome

Brilliant song! The last words of the lyrics are very much interesting :)
Great lead guitar in this
GREAT EVERYTHING on this ! Perfection at it’s core.
So bloody fantastic...my fave track of ALL time...Amen....
Mine too
I can still close my eyes and see the CO2 smoke running off the stage...
good song . Captain Beyond. .. and the band played on . . ..
Thank you Jesus
Holy Crap! Just found out Reese Wynans was in the band at this time. Small world I guess.
A BAND LIKE NO OTHER TO BAD THEY DIDN'T GET THE PROMOTION THEY SHOULD HAVE.
Reminds me of long walks on hillsides. That's a good thing! :)
Sure I can dig that and yet there’s more things and themes you can apply it to.
I am seeing the band in 2 weeks in Chicago, can't wait.....
Paul Muha How is this possible? Two of the three songwriters are dead and the third is a recluse.
@@mcallahan13 They have resurrected the band & only original member is drummer
Sunshine & A Smile So it’s not Captain Beyond.
@@mykecallahan4141 agreed.
Wishbone Ash is playing in Austin in Sept.

This is Bobby Caldwell singing right? On this track...
One of my all time favourites. Hope to meet Bobby someday.
Bobby wasn't on this album for some reason. He came back a few years later for Dawn explosion with no rod Evan's.go figure...?

sister in prison fav songRUTH ALICE CHAMBERS
Prog? it's another minor pentatonic guitar riff tune. It sounds good, but it's not prog
So you are telling me that a song has a pentatonic scale it can’t be prog?
looking back, this was a waste of time
