I always appreciate perspectives from other tall riders like me (6’3”).
Just got mine yesterday 8/17 and is a real nice bike. I'm 71 so I'm not going on trails but desert and forest dirt roads. Still learning controls but it is fun I live in the desert only 2 paved roads an 50 sand ones and minimal traffic so its a relative safe area to ride.
It's nice to see someone my height (6'4") sitting on the Summit-1. Most reviews I've watched are done by shorter riders who simply say it will fit a taller rider. My hope is that I can add a set of 120mm riser handlebars for a slightly more upright seating position.
I've seen a 3.5" riser bar on the Summit-1, so there's hope.
I always bring some repair stuff on bike rides, which would definitely include chain-link and things to work on that chain if it breaks.
Good review, thanks
The high top tube does not look as it would provide as much clearance as the Ramblas whilst standing on the pedals
Being 6'4" must make it difficult to find the right sized bike.
at 17:05 you said it can go up to a 3 inch wide tire. is that on the standard rim?
Yes
Awesome that is good to know - thank you! Those are like dirt bike size tires hah
Don't like fat tire bikes. Definitively do not like class 3 throttle bikes.
Velotric Customer Service does not recommend that mods or changes be made to the Summit 1 bike. They will not advise as to any changes and will void their warranty if the customer makes any mods or changes . Velotric Customer service takes forever to resolve even the smallest warranty claims and ships parts by the slowest methods possible. I would not buy products made by Velotric. The bike is not dropper-post ready.
You may have had some bad experiences but I have good news for you. Your Summit 1 definitely is dropper post read. You may want to recheck that.
