just now seeing this, it might be an issue with your phone. or your phone could be automatically connecting to your car instead of the device. Unpair and re-do the connection. I don't have issues with any of my phones.

Yes i'm using my phone's hotspot. You can also connect to any wifi if you're parked near your house, or restaurant.
You have to be connected to wifi for it to work?
I wonder why you need wifi. Wouldn’t it just project the phone onto the screen? Therefor using your normal data
