This actually added the ability for me to use TH-cam in the car on my Android auto radio. Thank you very much for giving us a quick get to it response and not some garbage-filled video. It was very simple and easy to use thank you again I did notice I had to open the app at least one time in order for it to show up in my Android auto just a quick note for anybody else doing this.
Can you watch videos in Parking Mode, or Driving for the passenger? Cause it would be nice to park, and watch a video under the stars, or arriving early at work.
@@melodydawn I can watch videos no matter what I'm doing now this all depends on which radio you have because some of them might lock that feature up but since this is basically just using a browser on your phone and playing TH-cam through it you probably shouldn't have any problems so it did work fine for me. Also depending on how powerful the head unit is and your phone it may not be the smoothest thing either. But it played perfectly fine for me and I only have $100 head unit

Hey everyone, just a heads up that this isn't functioning on Android 14. It only works on earlier versions like Android 13. It seems that Google has blocked this Car stream feature in Android 14.

Please be aware of that battery discharge warning, I ran this for about 40 minutes like a dummy with my car off and it sucked the life out of my battery

I really thought this was going to work on my 2021 Tucson but did not. I followed all the steps and got the CarStream app showing on my phone but the app widget did not display on the car screen.
For this to work, follow -> Enable developer mode in Android auto, then in Android auto tap the 3 dots, top right corner. Select developer, select unknown sources. Restart and it will appear
the carstream app has been installed and set up successfully, but it doesn't appear on the Android auto App List. ( I have a Huyndai Ioniq) How Can I add it the authorized list of apps ? Thanks.

If it doesnt appear on the app list do thre following. I've figured out the solution. Load the android auto app, click the version number 3 times to enable developer mode. Go into the developer options and tick enable unknown. It will then show the added apps in the menu to appear on your screen.
Did you get any of the mirror aps to work. They were working on my 2019 Ram but having issues on my 2023 Silverado. Just wondering if it was a certain version or older release

Worked perfect on my 2023 f150 with sync 4 and 12" screen, its not full screen but i can live with that, its how the ford sync system is.. plays my VUDU movie account no problems

Google has since updated Android Auto to remove the Car Stream app. It doesn't show up any more on the Andriod Auto apps available on the car.

Install the app on phone doesn't show in car apps though.

Looks like they patched this. Trying in a 2023 Qashqai with the latest Android auto on Galaxy S24 Ultra. CarStream will not show in AA at all.
