This is a Motormouth couple car review of the 2021 Porsche macaw GTS and the Porsche Drive subscription service. The Macan GTS comes with a 2.9L twin-turbo V6 engine with a 7-speed PDK transmission, 375 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. It goes 0-100 km/h in 4.9 seconds
and it has a top speed of 261 km/h. It has 17 horsepower more than the previous model. The base model Porsche Macan comes with a 2L 4 cylinder turbo engine with a 7-speed PDK transmission, 248 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque. The Porsche Macan SUV has a distinctive design with LED headlights with 4-point daytime running lights and 4-point brake lights. The new rear design has a standard LED taillight strip which; emphasizes the Porsche logo. The Macan’s broad shoulders over the rear wheels have some characteristics of a 911. The Matte black slide blades offer a nice contrast and are also available as an option in carbon fibre, silver and high gloss black or the exterior colour. The Porsche Drive subscription program flipped us out of the Porsche 911 Targa 4 and into this Macan GTS. Porsche Drive is a monthly, subscription, based service that gives you access to a selection of Porsche vehicles. Experience the thrill of driving a Porsche short or long term at your convenience. Download the app and take your dream car for a drive. Porsche Drive is available in Vancouver, Toronto and soon to be in Montreal. It’s also available in some US cities, check it out!

I had a 2015 Macan S, I loved it, it’s like a 911 and a SUV had a baby. You really have to experience it, Porsche redefined the segment.
I did have one issue, water in passenger footwell after a rain. Went to dealerships 4x over 6 months, no resolution after complete tear down. So after 30 year love affair with the marque I was not impressed with their handling of “this” known issue. In the past with the IMS on my 911, they honored a new engine post warranty but with this issue I just felt like I was being jerked around by the dealer.

Two years ago, wife and I testdrove both Macau GTS and it’s big brother Cayenne GTS. While Macau felt much nimble and fun, it’s back seat space and boot let it down so much, made us choose Cayenne GTS. When you have multiple kids, Macan is just too small, for some reason, it is much smaller at the back than its cousin, Audi Q5 which we already have one. Good review though, fun small SUV for small family or young couple.

Weirdly enough I've always liked the GTS variants of any Porsche over the Turbo model even though that's a higher spec vehicle. Power is nice but I prefer a vehicle with a manageable amount of power but quick handling. Great work as usual on the review!

Hi Zack & Andrea. Just to let everyone know I secured an order for the new Facelift model here in UK for October build. Only to find out yesterday Porsche are not allowing PASM or air suspension with PASM for new orders. Apparently the floods in Germany mean they have supply problems. Not sure whether this is chip or suspension component related but a real pain as will mean people won't be able to order the car with the better suspension until the supply problem is sorted out! A real problem for the GTS too which has air suspension as standard!

Consumer Reports differentiates between “predicted reliability” and “reliability verdict”. That’s why reliability results continually change as survey results come in. So a car that may have a poor or below average predicted reliability may end up with an average or better reliability verdict. Conversely, a car may start with an average or better predicted reliability and end up with a below average or poor reliability verdict as survey results are finalized. Case in point, the 2019 Mazda reliability results have gone from above average initially to just average currently.

The driving dynamics are terrific. Every time I get into our Cayenne, it think to myself why would I get anything else. The steering is precise, the drive is dynamic, comfortable and you sit up higher. It's different from the GTS but very good. I feel the same way, I would get the S if we didn't have a diesel. The S has plenty of power, we recently drove the Coupe and in my opinion that's all you need.

Subscription services like Porsche Drive is an idea who's time has come. But, like all new innovations, I'd suggest letting the rich be the early adopters because none of these services are cheap. Once all the kinks are worked out and more accessible companies like GM and Honda jump into this, only then do I believe it will truly start making financial sense. At which point, I'll be very interested. The future of car buying will not only be electric, but also who will offer the best subscription!

The regular stelvio Ti Sport is more comparable to these. 0-6 5.4 seconds. Unfortunately Alpha Romeo doesn’t have an in between model, so it’s tough to correctly compare them

And I can't say I've driven a porsche, mercedes, or bmw that really makes me want one. They're only nice if you can afford to keep them nice and that's way too much effort with these vehicles. I'll stick with my 2013 jk sport. 160k miles and not a single check engine light, just a tiny exhaust leak, that I haven't bothered to trace out yet. I've driven plenty of other suvs from just about every other manufacturer, and I just don't see any reason anyone would get a porsche other than to prove they have more money(when most really dont and can't afford the repairs). The only place I could see them being okay is in Europe where they likely cost much less and repairs are probably cheaper as well. Here in the states it's just a flat out waste of money.

I own a Porsche Macan GTS and it absolutely rips. It can do 0-60 in 3.9 flat dude I have tried it Porsche under stated their numbers 12.7 1/4 mile No joke. I am telling you it can do all that and some light off roading too. Its a do it all kind of CUV. If you need more room than the Cayenne is a better fit but I have 3 kids and we still fit fine in there. When we have more people to haul we use our LX470 for that but make no mistake this is a beautifully fast Porsche.

I looked at Macan but ultimately ordered a Mercedes GLC 43 which I love.
I couldn’t justify an SUV that is smaller than the MB with less cargo room than my Golf R and even in the case of the Macan GTS, has less power for a lot more $$$
The Porsche option pricing is insane, far worse than MB.
The Cayenne is the sweet spot in their SUV line but for me, too big, too $$$

And he'll, some people don't even have the money for the oil change and go to a jiffy lube or somewhere, where some dumbass 18 yr old never touched a wrench in his life will dump the trans fluid and double fill the engine oil... literally saw it a month ago.... the jiffy lube owner got lucky with just needing a trans service and oil change to get the car back to the customer. And a bunch of these cars use the xenon headlights instead of led or halogen and that's gonna run you 300 bucks a side, if it's just a bulb, between labor and the bulb... the bulbs alone retail at 150 or so.

Don't get one unless you like 300$ oil changes and 1000$+ repairs for stupid basic shit. As 'great' as porsche may be, the cost of continued ownership isn't worth it, not to mention the entry cost of initial ownership. Same goes for mercedes, bmw, audi, et al. They're all way too expensive to buy and maintain when you can get the same quality experience from more cost efficient vehicles.
