I have a couple questions before I start this game myself: how different is this game's Canon of Creation route to the original game, and how different is the Canon of Vengeance route? As someone who played the original game, should I replay the original story or skip straight to the new one?

hearing that level scaling has been somewhat fixed is a huuuuge plus for me. in the original, a level difference of 3 already caused fights youre underleveled to drag on forever and fights youre overleveled for to be trivial. the level scaling made a difference in a few levels feel like a difference of 20 levels

I have a question; when you beat the game, were you able to start a NG+ file in the other Canon, or are save files Canon-exclusive? As in, when you beat Vengeance, did you get to port your NG+ benefits to Creation, or not?

I'm so happy you brought up the level scaling issue got resolved. I know they mentioned they fixed that but I wasn't entirely sure if it was TRULY fixed. But the fact you were beating demons like 10+ lvs higher already tell told me everything I needed to know. Thank you for the video deus!
I personally haven't played the base game of smt 5 and I will definitely buy smt 5 vengeance once it comes out but I am kinda curious about if the qol changes that the vengeance path has also got implemented in the creation path, also I am fairly new to the smt series, I am currently playing through smt 4 as my very first smt

The most exciting part of this is that you can play it on a better, more powerful hardware. Such a great game that was stuck on Nintendo switch at 30. FPS is a crime just like Monster Hunter rise. When that came over the Xbox game pass and I was playing it on my series X it was so amazing and I even double dip and I bought it for my steam deck OLED and I was hoping this game will come out for Game Pass and I'll just stream it to my steam deck but eff it. I'm going to buy it for Steam and play it on my deck and be able to play it at 90 HZ instead of at 30. And honestly, I don't understand anybody that owns the switch and owns other consoles. Why would they rebuy this on the switch when you can finally play it at 4K on your PS5s or Xboxes or at a higher frame rate on your gandheld PC

Bro there are 3 side quests in Tokyo and you go back to your bed 4 times in the game. I think it would have made more sense in the game to never go back there. Cause "God blessed us" makes no sense.

14:36 steam says the game isn't available in my region I had the same problem with persona 3 reload so I went to the Xbox store and for some reason it wasn't available untill the release day so I couldn't preorder it (still got to play it at least) I hope that doesn't happen with this game too because I want my achievements to be on steam (I'll be thankful just to play the game)

I avoided a lot of trailers so I'm going into this fairly blind so I was NOT expecting Yoko to be playable, that's so rad. Them letting the cast actually join you addresses my largest issue with the vanilla game which is feeling really disconnected with the main characters.
As long as it has better FPS than the Switch mess then I'm interested.

Second, I was kind of burnt out this year on RPGs, but your review sold me on getting Vengeance sooner rather than later. All the improvements definitely seem to hit the issues I had with base V, so I'm more hyped to try it out than ever.

i know people hate on atlus for re-releasing their main line games, but i’m so glad they did for smt v because i couldn’t get into the original game. played it for 15 hours and it was frustrating to have to find leyline founts whenever i wanted to save the game. i ended up giving up on it because of this. the qol features such as sky view and map markers were also game changing for me. i’m now about 25 hours in and i can’t put it down. got the steel book edition for $17 too !

I really liked Yoko because she was level headed and realistic. While everybody spouts off their emotional ideals and gets emotional, she just says, yeah that's really hard to do, it's not really feasible, come up with something better 😂

No doubt it's the best gameplay in the series now. SMTV came quite close, but I still preferred SMT4 Apocalypse over it a little bit. I love the idea of unique demon skills, and fixing the level scaling formula seals the deal.

It's worth noting level scaleing is outright turned off in boss fights in Vengance. The only "scaleing" in a boss fight is... well... stats and the actual impact of level itself in calculations. No difference penalty in boss fights.

....So, I can confirm strats and skills matter more than levels here cuz, I'm trying out Vengeance on normal and purposefully overleveling to see if I can cheese the game.
...And you can't. Not really anyway.
Like, I was THIRTY levels higher than the first Qadustu encounter in Da'at and I STILL lost to her.
How?
Welp, charm and elemental affinities.
But, even after solving the isdue of not getting insta ganked and figuring out her weakness, she still took a bit longer than I expected.
Point is, even if you're crazy leveled, the wrong m9ve against the wrong demons can still screw you over REAL FAST.
The only bad things about Vengeance that I can think of is something on my end.
1: Went ahead and bought V (Fall of Man Edition) and a week later Vengeance was announced.
2: Due to financial issues, I missed out on the DLC. I am not a fan of the de-listing.

So, yeah. I don't have much of a problem with the re-release. I went ahead and got the Day One Edition on Series X.
Hope that most of the SMT fanbase enjoys this release (there will always be some who don't) and that SMT 1&2 get a remake.
I don't know if you'll ever see this, but I'm a huge fan. I watched and fell asleep to a bunch of your videos more times than I can count. I loved your older style where less was a little better than more I think. I feel like you have too much in the way of theatrics these days and it takes 20 years to get a video out now. Sometimes less is more. Hollywood is a prime example of that. I say all this in good spirit and hope you get something good out of it lol I love your videos brother.

I got the game 4 days early. Finished the game, 80% of the sides. Although vengeance story is better then vanilla, it still was lacking compared to smt3 en smt4. I still miss the bad, 'bad' ending.
The game was fun but i had hoped, storywise, so much more....
I'm surprised Atlus let us preload the game. I have two minutes to wait as we speak. Super hyped!

I haven't finished the game yet, im getting too old to stay occupied by video games for long. I dont want to watch this kind of stuff until i have finished the game. Im just looking for someplace to comment on the soundtrack.
The OST is really growing on me. Its a bit experimental relative to old atlus OSTs, but i feel like i enjoy just listening to the music on youtube more than the FOMO stress of playing a megaten blind. Still a much better addition to the series than V, and a game i gladly play, albeit with the haste of a Thalassic Glacier.

Not going to lie I originally was not interested in the SMT series. But after seeing more of SMTV:V as well as your SMTV videos, as well as playing P5R, I am actually interested to play this game now that it got the same treatment as P5.

i think the developers probably intended creation to be played first. i've also heard there's a boss in the vengeance storyline that can only be accessed by getting a certain ending in creation.
@@jobertu There's a certain boss in CoC that can't be accessed until you beat CoV so it's a whole spiral loop thing. And you can't unlock Godborn mode until you beat the CoV superboss and then you can't unlock the final boss for demon fusion until you beat him on Godborn so it's a bunch of hopping back and forth for cool stuff.

I love the fact that this is pokemon for adults seriously I love the design of the new female demon enemies. I am also happy that Atlus continues to have great soundtracks on their RPGS
I just finished the game this week and tbh i did enjoy the new story and all the new quests, demons, and QoL features it has compared to the original, but the ending just feels kinda off.
So is Canon of Creation the same...? I hope not, having the story improvements be confined to the new story would be a shame.

I'm glad they addressed the overleveling thing from the orginal V. One of my most disliked patterns in JRPGs is how side content often pushes the player to be overleveled and breaks the difficulty curve. It's part of the reason why every turn based RPG should have a Expert mode/Level down feature imo.

Is there any reason to play the cannon of creation if you've played the og smt v? Are there new things there too or is it just for those who haven't played the original?
Apparently there’s a super boss you can only fight if creation is completed.
So if you do vengeance first, and ended up wanting to fight it, you would have to do creation than do vengeance again.
Really only needed if you want more difficult boys to fight and want to get 100% (superboss is an achievement)
