Hellblade 2 looks way better and more modern, but it's surprising how beautiful Horizon Forbidden West remains after all these years even though it's an open world and it's even more surprising considering it's a crossgen game, the guys at Guerrilla Games are really incredible.
Death Stranding 2 Will win, why? cause its open world, and its going to last way more than 5 hours and plenty thing to do than just walking with zero interactive with the place.
I agree, very interesting. Prediction: DS2 will come very close graphically but compromises will have to be made in character models and animation. HellBlade 2 gets 30fps with big black bars and minimal things happening on screen. DS2 won’t get away with black bars and there will be a lot of things happening on screen at once. I genuinely don’t think we will get better graphics than Hellblade 2 for this generation of consoles.
@@ArielCleirigh Honestly, Death Stranding's open world is empty, so let's say if you removed the stones from Hellblade it would become an open world too. So it's the same thing as nothing.

Not an empty 6h walking sim tech demo. There is nothing to brag about HB2 on how it looks, because that's how UE5 looks like. The engine made everything for the devs. Metahumans and fotogrammetrie. 6 years for that ?! Can you imagine what Insomniac or CD Project Red would do in 6 years using UE5/6 ? Could you imagine what Noughty Dog would do if TLOU 2 looks like that for a PS4 game ? :))
Horizon forbidden west is a cross gen open world title running at 60fps thats keeping up with hellblade 2 a next gen only linear title capped at 30fps (I’m comparing series x to ps5)

On the one hand we have a 100 hour game with an open and living world, being able to go underwater or go to the sky in the clouds, on the other we have a 6 hour linear tech demo and even so it loses in several points graphically lol. I forgot to mention that the tech demo uses film grain and motion blur to cover texture errors.
"living world" Sorry, but I stop reading after that. I have played both Horizon games and they look amazing but they use the same "open world" structure of a 2000 game (map full of icons, boring sidequests like collecting random herbs, saving x, killing x machine, etc), and you consider that being able to go underwater or go to the sky in the clouds is innovation, GTA San Andreas did the same and better than Horizon and it was launched 20 years ago.
Bro you cannot compare a 5 hr linear game thats made in UE5 to a 100 hr open world game graphically.... Still forbidden west has seriously amazing visuals
Both games are fantastic on their own merits. Being a cross gen game HFW is really amazing looking and the Decima Engine is a beast altogether. But Hellblade 2 is on another level. The granular details are often strikingly realistic. Kudos to both team for their amazing effort.

Hard to choose since they have very different styles and art direction. However, just the fact that Horizon is not a linear, one path limited walking simulation and can maintain that level of graphical detail throughout an open world, gives it the win.
@@fredyandressuarez8587 Yes, but just the fact that you have to MOD out filters that make the graphics look worse (blurry) instead of having them as an option in the game, makes it lose points in my book. If that were the case, we could mod in 4k textures and Raytracing to Horizon and it would win by a mile.

It's running on a PC at max settings. Being "cross gen" doesn't mean anything. Hellblade 2 can run on a steam deck, but that doesn't mean it will look like in this video. Same for Horizon FW, it doesn't look like this on a PS4
@@FedericoFroebel-dw4jeIt matters because it's a cross gen game, if it was developed exclusively for PS5 then it would be a massive difference.
Horizon is more impressive (open world). Cant wait to see Decima engine with next gen graphics. Both Horizon games and Death Stranding was multiplat (PS4 & PS5).
Death Stranding was a PS4 game just like Horizon Zero Dawn. Only Forbidden West was made for the current consoles and then back ported to PS4 likely due to the pandemic and silicon shortage
One thing we must keep in mind that, in HFW, LoD increases significantly when we go in photo mode. In game model and photo mode models have very different LoD. We must compare screenshots of gameplay cameras. We play the game, not the photo mode.
I recently finished Forbidden West, so it's all fresh in my memory. Hellblade, however, has superior graphics. The model of Senua is photorealistic; it looks like a real person. The lighting is much more realistic thanks to Lumen. The environments in Hellblade feature massive rock geometries due to Nanite; the volume of detail in the scenery is impressive. We're used to seeing games with flat, less detailed rocks, and when playing Hellblade, the difference is striking. Photogrammetry also plays a crucial role in making the environments photorealistic. Nanite is a technology that allows for an immense level of detail in 3D models by handling billions of polygons efficiently. This means that even tiny details in textures and shapes can be rendered without compromising performance. Lumen, on the other hand, is a dynamic global illumination system that simulates how light interacts with surfaces in a realistic manner. This results in more lifelike shadows, reflections, and overall lighting in the game. Photogrammetry involves using real-world photographs to create highly detailed and accurate 3D models. This technique adds to the realism by ensuring that textures and shapes in the game closely match their real-life counterparts.
😂 HFW engine is outdated, based on traditional tech, UE5 has some cutting edge new features like Nanite, built in retracing GI, virtual shadow maps... @@DimoN.G11

I thinks it’s absolutely impressive that Horizon can compete that closely being a open world game, and having an absolute BLAST of a gameplay, fast paced and dynamic. In my opinion, it’s WAY more impressive than anything Hellblade delivered
Horizon Forbidden West made Todd Howard’s quote “do you see it? You can go there” a reality beyond imagination, cause you can go even to the clouds All that while looking amazing
I'm sure since the PS4 days, pretty much every cutscene from a decent looking game and above looks better than any CGI from the PS2 era. I was watching some old PS2 games and the CGI looks outdated and the models can be very ugly. I remember the CGI of the first God of War being close to realism but I went back and it looks very crappy compared to what we got now.
@patrick22014 Oh, definitely better than most games cgi. I was thinking more of Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. Hair still needs work today, but we definitely have skin much better and textures
@@woof9408 Oh yeah, the hair is something that still looks pretty weird not matter how good everything else looks like. I remember shadows were one of the things developer used to struggle a lot too.

@@NorbertoRivera-mm2qn The amount of restrictions on Hellblade 2 makes its technical prowess weaker, just like The Order 1886 Creating amazing graphics on a super linear and restrictive game is not an achievement.
I have both consoles and It is impressive how far graphics have come in just a few years . Hellblade 2 has a studio of about 80 staff actually to the person that said a couple of hundred lol. The only real issue with Horizon is rather ordinary interior lighting in caves etc. The biggest issue with Hellblade 2 is certainly not the graphics though apart from no ray traced reflections which neither game has but It also lacks actual compelling gameplay or pretty much anything to do. The combat is a boring chore and walking, crawling and jogging is just sleep inducing and even the puzzles are not as good as Hellblade 1. Horizon you can just get lost in for months as there is just always something to do or some new way you discover to take down a dinosaur. How did they even do that flooded casino in the desert? . Best area I have ever explored in any game bar none. Personally I think it is easily the best first party game on PS5 . Hellblade 2 only just released on Xbox and is currently sitting at number 23 which pretty much means it just doesn’t cut it for a 7 year break between this and the first game and it will very likely be a sales flop. To be totally honest I get Gamepass ultimate for free and even playing Hellblade 2 at zero cost feels like a waste of time where I would just much rather play something else. Immortals of Aveum is an easy recommendation on Gamepass over this.

The true comparison is an native engine game (Horizon) vs. Filtering image (Hellblade 2), Hellblade is cool but have an heavy filter with chromatic aberration on that, we dont see the true graphics, in fact Horizon is a real gameplay and Hellblade is an automatic pre-rendering scene button as you can see this with each "freeze frame" when Senua's changes the action in battles.

1 - Theres more than 1 or 2 enemies on screen. 2 - too dificult for us. 1 - More than 20 weapons with different habilities, ways to defeat the enemy. 2 - 1 is good for us, and 1 button to press, ok, parry? no need. 1 - we have water, you can swinn!! 2 - water is to watch, not swinn.
Horizon gives hellblade 2 a run for its money. I think that whatever horizon's engine was running on does a better job of rendering a large open world environment than unreal engine 5.
Of course its an independent studio massively funded by Sony. Hellblades team in comparison is very small and they had to use UE5 as they donot ve budget to make their own. But for what it is, Hellblade 2 looks incredible, I played it with a 7800xt PC and also on Xbox and PC is superior and I am still gawking with awe what did I just play. At times it feels too damn photorealistic for a game. Compared to that Horizon still looks good but it feels like we are playing a game, Hellblade sometimed immerses us into that agonizing world. Both are different in their own rights and I do agree for an open world Horizon has done an insane job

Great vid

The waterfalls in Forbidden West looks more smoke than water
¿Has estado alguna vez en una cascada?
That's real life waterfalls for you
Hellblade Water looks like dishwashing liquid.
But that’s how it is.😐
17:26 cartoon vs 17:51 reality 🤭
Any on-rails instanced non open world game like Hellblade would have twice the detail of Horizon. It's common sense you know.
2 beautiful.
1 - the world is visible and explorable.
2 - just to look.
1 - We have a combat melee and distance.
2 - no, you can only apreciate.
1 - We can ride Robots in the land, sea and air.
2 - no, you can only apreciate.
1 - There are more than 70h of quests, adventure and incredible places to explore.
2 - no, you can only apreciate.
1 - Have a lot of bosses, a thousands of diferent enemies, we have to upgrade our skills and weapons.
2 - no, you can only apreciate.
1 - a great Game
2 - Tech demo with rails.
1 - You leave a comment with facts.
2 - I can only apreciate.

Both are different in their own rights and I do agree for an open world Horizon has done an insane job
kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk piadista
Where's the gt7 vs Motorsport video?
Real
@@AgustinLopez-ee5kc asi es
Claro siga mintiendote tu misma 🤣🤦🏻

At 1:00 the level of details on HFW is impressive, you even have all the little hair on her face ! It is one of the most detailed face at day
That's because it's her cutscene model. In game play that is not rendered as those details are likely lost
@@crestofhonor2349 You haven't played the game. Yes, it does. Even NPCs haves those details. Cut scenes have the same models as the rest of the game
@@elhotro I have played the game. The model seen in gameplay does have less detail. It's very unlikely for the player to notice since the detail level is already so high.
@@crestofhonor2349 If you had played the game you would know that what you see in the video in gamplay. If you had played the game you would know that the cut scenes models are exactly the same as in the gameplay.
If you had played the game you knew that in the cut scenes you cannot move the camera during photo mode, which is what is seen in this video at the time indicated in this comment.
@@elhotro The models in cutscenes are higher fidelity. The do ramp up detail in cutscenes as do many other video games. If you look at pretty much any modern video game, cutscenes are heavier than gameplay for a reason. They are pushing more detail in those. Aloy's model is more detailed in both photo mode and cutscenes.
This is true for Sony's other games as well like God of War, Ratchet and Clank, and Spiderman
😂😂😂
You ruined the lighting for both games so you did neither of them any favors. I can give you way better footage that better display what they are doing. Both are beautiful but hellblade 2 is a significant step ahead. Your video doesn’t show that.
Stone game vs horizon forbiden west
Great work! Thank you very much!
2021 game Horizon much impressive - its an openworld game in 4K with fast speed in any direction, you can fly, you can swim undewater. So technicaly Horizon much more dificult and bigger and allmof this on 10Tf.
A diferença é absurda, HellBlade 2 leva a melhor fácil, sobre Horizon F W...
Nope, did you see all the thibgs Alloy does on water and sky, and being and open world game?
Hellblade looks horrendous in comparison good job. Senua doesn't even have sub surface skin scattering on her ears. Field of view is abominable and the draw distance is abysmal
Hellblade 2 is very clearly the better looking game. I don’t know what you’re looking at
@@Solstareyou’re both talking absolute bollocks. Today’s gamers are ridiculous.

consider that horizon is a mid generation and open world game that you can spend about 80 hours in it
No. Consider the team size difference. It's still a 9th gen game that was later on decided to be moved to PS4
