I'd go for A10/B10 or 530 so the sprockets are wider, also much quieter under load I have "16hp" and I bang gears so the chain snaps occasionally. I just carry couple extra chains and links if I go far away from home, too lazy to do the sprcoket swap
Can you show alternative ways to do stuff without a welder. I’ve always made stuff that comes apart after and can be reused so I want to see these parts.

if the bicycle sprockets are too weak then buy some 520 motorcycle sprockets for it they shouldn't break
Way overkill 420 chain is good enough that's what I run on my mower kart and it's got a 25hp Kohler command pro

Put a skid plate under the front to prevent further bottoming out issues.
Is 19.5 hp enough for a mower or should I belt swap it

Yeah you really need to have a very small sprocket on the transaxle and reenforce the sprockets more

yes its possible look at the honda swaped mower project
Also maybe put the old big engine pulley on the jackshaft
should work good with chain and breaks! and amazon has lots of pulleys
