You should re-do this with a truck that has the oil filter in the stock location, would make more sense to show how thats done and where its located vs using a truck which has it moved and which most people wouldnt deal with. but thanks for the video.
I couldn't fine my filter on this 1998 F150 I just bought, couldn't find it, couldn't find it. Thought I was going crazy. Turns out I have this relocation kit on mine too!
Steve Wasicuna are you sure about that? My owners manual says 5w20 and all oil caps I have seen for the 97-03 trucks are 5w20 as well. I have heard of some people who recommend using 5w-30, but never seen this from ford directly.

I have the same cut in the filter housing.. regards from Mexico..
Why the cut on the air filter cover? Is it a great idea to cut ?
If I’m not mistaken, it’s to allow for more air flow. But I don’t think it makes much of a difference to be honest.

@@urbanlumberjack my 2000 ford f150 say 5w30
Ford put a TSB our years ago going to 5w-20 but it was for CAFE standards only. 5w-30 is fine and better.
Climate can make a difference
@@mrstl3000 weird. My 2001 5.4 says 5w20 in the manual and on oil cap.
i have the same truck it say 5w20 on the oil cap. and Valvoline put 5w20 in my truck and I think I need a 5w30 full synthetic what do you think
+KillerKolt44 We recommend that you use what the owner's manual or oil cap tell you to use. That is going to work best for your engine! 1aauto.com
5w-30 is fine. Like all manufacturers, Ford went to 5w-20 for CAFE standards only.
anybody else notice milk on the bottom of the oil fill cap and while draining out of pan?
How hard is it to replace the remote oil filter lines. Mine are leaking.
Why is the air filter box cut out like that? Would suck more air but it would be sucking hot air........
