    OMG ....I have Just got motion a week ago and have been watching your tutorials for the last few days. I have created a new Intro for my videos and a new titles template both of which have made an appearance on my latest upload. Your tutorials are amazing and I will go on using them. In just a few days you have helped me so much. Thank you so much!!

      This is exactly why I do these. I’ve been sitting on a LOT of lessons as Apple is set to release new versions of final cut and Motion.
      I can’t wait for you and others to see the new lessons.
      I’m taking all the stuff I used in tv and short films and basically building my own college level course for motion graphics, titles etc.

      Thanks for checking it out. I will admit that particles and emitters in motion are likely one of its biggest weak points compared to other programs out there. It severely needs an update.

    Great tuto! I was looking how to create particules of rain, with a camera looking down. It looks pretty much like what you've introduced in the begin of this tuto... Is there a tuto covering this subject that you've done?

    • @AVUltra
      @AVUltra  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Dorian Craddock Hi there!
      Thanks for watching and noticing that particle example.
      You may or may not have noticed-but each of the lessons I have covered so far are like an introduction to that topic. There's a lot of room to cover much more in those topics but I try to keep them brief. So each of the lessons will get unfolded into deeper lessons. In this case with the space emitter- that will be covered after the intro to 3D layers and cameras are covered (slated for lessons 9 and 11)
      Thanks for the question hope that answers it.

    Thank you so much!! So clear and helpful! :-) This helped me to make snowflakes falling from the sky :) I just have a question: can you set 2 color modes at the same time? I'd like the snowflakes to have a different range of colors but making all of them appear and disappear with the opacity over life...

    • @AVUltra
      @AVUltra  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there- glad you found it useful.
      You can absolutely have different color modes.
      The trick is to give you emitter 2 different 'cells"
      This way you can dial in colors for each cell.
      Or you can animate the color of a particular cell to change over time, like from birth to death. This is how a lot of fire and spork effects are done- They start out 1 color, then when they are set to disappear they change to another.
      Just make a keyframe in the color value and change it over time.
      Hope that helps, and thanks for your question.

    got to make me some emitters!!!

  • @GemTappX
    @GemTappX 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    After I set the emitter shape to Rectangle, the size bounding box does not appear like in you video? if I manually adjust the size with the slider the max size is limited to 1000. I obviously need it to be higher than that. Is there another way I can make the Emitter shape bounding box to appear?

    • @GemTappX
      @GemTappX 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Never mind, I figured out that I can just manually input the values for the size, width, and height. Thanks anyways though.

    • @AVUltra
      @AVUltra  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Check your view setting in the top right corner. It’s likely off. If you need to go bigger, put it in a group and scale the group. Good luck and thanks for the comment.

    • @GemTappX
      @GemTappX 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@AVUltra thanks I figured it out. turns out I needed to be using the Adjust item tool to make the emitter shape box to appear, just like in your video. I guess I missed that part in the beginning. But I actually needed to know about the view settings too, so thanks for that too!

    Hey. Can you demonstrate how you get text follow a object in a video. I know that it can be done I After Effects, but I wan't to know if it can be done I Apple Motion. Thanks

    • @AVUltra
      @AVUltra  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Niels Lensvold Thanks for your question. There's a lot of different ways you could do this. I'll be covering the link behavior which is one way- but a quick easy way would be to place the text and moving object in the same group and animate the group position.
      Hope that helps! Thanks for watching.

    • @AVUltra

      Use an image sequence (number photos 0-100 in a folder) and chose random from the choices.

    Is it possible to make the particals react to music?

    • @AVUltra
      @AVUltra  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      it is! I actually built a few lessons on building visualizers etc, but the reality is the audio analysis is pretty slow so it wasn't a great video.
      What you can do is take an audio file, analyze it, and then link any parameter, so it could be position, or color, or scale, or all of them.

    • @AVUltra

      Hi there-
      In your canvas, go to View, Rulers.
      Otherwise you could just his SHIFT COMMAND R.
      The rest of the view options are in there too.

      Make a rectangle with your shape tools,
      Click emitter, open the inspector and change position and color.

    • @AVUltra
      @AVUltra  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It can vary. I use emitters a lit for smoke effects, fire effects, particle things like dust or debris, rain, rain splatters, fake 3d items etc. like if you wanted to do several playing cards or have a bunch of items shoot from something this would be way faster than animated all of them by hand.
