I used schwarzkopf nordic blonde lightener to get my hair to blonde without having to bleach my hair, it comes in three different strengths depending on how dark your hair is. Took me two treatments of that plus a hit of silver toner through it to take all the yellow out! Then just use La Riche Directions dye in any of the shades of purple (plum, lilac, lavender and violet) mix it with conditioner and use it as a dye, leave it in for an hour and if still not the shade you want a bit longer :)

Ummmm... I would go with a darker version, but that's my opinion. I bet you could rock anything.
A lot of people say that people with darker skin look better with lighter colours... They stand out more and the contrast is pretty :) I think you should try it
I think this color would look great on you, no matter what skin shade! Honestly though, when I draw characters with this hair color, I tend to give them darker skin, bc the colors compliment each other so well.

You would have to bleach your hair a lot to get it to a light blonde or possibly a white, so it can look like this. To not damage your hair, bleach it between intervals. It may take three or four tries before your hair gets light enough. Just remember that with bleach, it's important to bleach your hair every several days, so as not to damage it. c:

Leave it on for as long as you want. The longer you leave it on, the longer the colour will last. I dye my hair with directions and I usually put on the dye, wrap my hair in cling film and sleep with it on over night. It also makes your hair really soft. I wouldn't put it on for the amount it says on the tub of dye like the other person said cause it's says only 15 mins but that will only last you 1-3 washes.
i have no interest in dying my hair lavender because i simply could not keep up with it, but i really just wanted to let you know you are beautiful! i can tell you have lots of self confidence too in the way you talk, and your voice is amazing! :)

I'm obsessed with this hair color. I love that actually it's not that pricey when you consider how bleach and developer can be bought in bulk and you dilute the dye with cheap conditioner... I'm going to do this after I dye my hair magenta for awhile.
try foxy locks extensions in platinum blonde. i just got mine. and they are BEAUTIFUL! soo soft and theyre remy unlike most. which means the cuticle is all running the same direction.
What foundation do you use? Your skin looks flaaaawless!
This video gave me the push I need to dye my hair lilac 8 years ago. I’ll always love this color I even went out off my way to buy the same brand because they don’t have it in the US. It was worth it
just putting this out there, the purple may not work as well in your hair coz purple is commonly used to counter the yellow in hair (i.e purple shampoo) so it may not stick as well, it may help get rid of the yellow and leave a slight purple tint though? also when buying shampoo and what not try and find ones that say protien coz that'll help heal your hair :) hope that helps a lil :)
Awesome, never thought of using a strong color to make a light color.
Question though, do you use toner to get you hair white enough to put in the lavender? Also, what other than conditioner could be used to make the color lighter? I have dreadlocks in the making so conditioner is a no-no.

I had the same problem, how long did you leave it in for? I left it in for half an hour, and it worked quite well after that. Leaving it in for an hour would probably definitely do it, since it's only a conditioning hair colour. When you wash it out, just rinse it with cold water, as cold as yo can bear. That seals it into the hair shaft, and don't wash it for a day or two to let it settle :) Hope it works :)
i know this was sad already lovely, i just want to double check! so basically to dilute/make a color lighter you add conditioner?

when you dye your extensions, do you have to wash them to get the colour out? cause eventually i would want to change the colour to another pastel colour

I love your color! I have been trying to achieve a lighter version of this color. However, I am having some trouble. I had a golden toned blonde on the bottom layer of my hair. I lightened it with bleach, then toned it with a silver toner. After drying it I decided I wanted a little more of a lilac color, so I used a lavender hair dye.When I washed it out, the color came out blue toned? I am wondering what I should do now?
Was that purple-thingy you put in before the colour just purple/lilac conditioner or something special??

bleach...but to make sure the bleach doesn't damage your hair when rinsing it out put lots of conditioner and shampoo (thats how i've always done it and i have brown hair) it will turn out soft and lighter than before :3

Hello, MelonLady! I was wondering your opinion as to what skin tone could pull lavender hair off... I'm thinking of going lavender, but I have medium toned skin. Is this look most suitable for pale skin or would it look good with medium skin tones also? Thanks! :)

for your light/pastel hair colors, does your color run a lot or does it stay rather well?
it needs to be WHITE! like beyond platinum blond. Helen made a video on how to get it white, but if you buy either Directions Silver Toner or White Toner you'll be good. if you dont want to dye your hair you can buy Shimmer and Lights silver and blonde shampoo and and conditioner. you wash your hair with it 3 times a week and let it sit in for a good 5 mins and you'll have white hair in NO TIME, that's what i use.

That's why you put the rest of the dye in your conditioner and use it Everytime you wash your hair.

finally. i have been looking for how to do this. i only want to do a small section on the underside of my hair first, so you just see it when my hair is in a ponytail. then if i like it i'll do some other parts. but my hair is naturally a dark/ medium brown, so i need to bleach and tone the crap out of it to get it white enough to do this!
You know how you put the conditioner on the tub, what did you put after before adding the hair dye?

your hair is the EXACT color I've been trying to achieve but all the light purple dyes I've used have either made my hair blue or an ugly brown/purple color. Was your hair like WHITE before you dyed? and it so how did you get it to be so light?
Ive got this already in my extensions. Planning on going ALL lilac tomorrow. To get back blonde would I have to bleach it out or would it fade back to my bleached blonde?

You could remove the red hair color to get it to a lighter blonde of your natural hair color. Then if you do a bleach wash (a little bit of bleach, a little bit of shampoo) it'll lighten it enough for you to dye it white, then lilac.

Lol. Does it have to be Directions hair dye to turn out this good? I don't wanna wait to order it :( I was going to buy Splat hair dye and use that. Can you mix splat with conditioner? I just don't know if mixing with conditioner works with any brand or just directions.
@electricmoo88 no the creme developer will lift and deposit the color better so you will get dark purple hair.
Another question :p does it fade faster since its such a light~pastel color? Does it need a lot of maintenance? How often would I need to redye it? That's more like 3 questions but answers would greatly be appreciated :)
