I ran some similar tests myself. Dozens of tests trying to keep the test as accurate as possible. One key thing I overlooked, and seems you may have as well, is the weight of the lipos. In my testing each brand lipos were the same C rating and mAh rating but I never took in account that the one lipo I was marking as "bad" or performing "poorly" was also the heaviest. So, I did another test with the brands in the 3000mah variety, the first test was with 5200mah, and all weighed exactly the same (within +1 or -1). I found that the brand I marked as the "poor" from previous test was the best performer in this test. The only thing I really learned from all the testing was how to waste two weeks of my life 😂
I heard that new lipos need a couple of charge/ discharge cycles before reaching full power. Interesting to see how these batteries perform if they were all new.
Solid review.... I admit when SMC jumped their price up to $130 on the new SRD packs it definitely made me fall back from the previous 150C models. Lol Never tried the YOOWOO packs though might have to order a set? 😉👍🏾
I bought them as basher packs for my Kraton and decided to give them a warm up pass on my Infraction. I was stunned that they almost matched my CNHL 90C 9500mah packs on a 130mph pass. Very close. Way better than most budget packs.
Great tests between all the batteries. Both the Yowoos and the CHNL are great value. Will you be doing a test between them again at higher speeds? This will truly show, if there is a difference in power. If the SRDs are not better then (by some margin), they are definitely not worth the money. Yes I will step up to a faster speed today. I need to build another spool in order to make up the gearing from the GP4 diffs (10/43). I use the EXB diffs for the durability on drag hits.
@@jondilly1974 I'm still on the stock diffs with 50k fluid. So far it has been working well but I will probably find the limit sooner or later. Will be interesting how far I can push it before getting a spool/locking them. Do you use them because of the added ring gear durability or the internal durability?
@@KiTrisExtremeRc for the output shaft pin behind the planetary gear. On the RTR diffs, these break way too easy. On the EXB diffs, they are thicker and haven’t been able to break one yet. Problem is you lose a lot of gear ratio, but if all you need is 80mph, that’s not a problem. If you want 120mph, it becomes tough to gear up enough without a very small spool or a higher KV motor. I am swapping to a 2200kv motor for today’s test. Not sure if either the MAX6 or 2200kv motor will even make the pass on 29/46 gearing. We will see.
Nice review. For speed runs that gearing is too easy for the batteries. A 120-130 mph run will show the differences. I'm enjoying these tests, keep it up!
I will never buy SMC lipos again. I don't really care if they are technically the best. They puff, aren't stable long term, and seem to run hot despite the IR supposedly being lower than other brands. I suspect earlier packs had issues which happened to be the ones I purchased, but they aren't cheap. All of the money I spent on SMC lipos is wasted because I barely used them and none of them have survived years later. Yes, I storage charge, and yes, no damage to them other than running them in a RC truck with normal heat and vibrations that you expect from bashing. No punctures or ejections.
Just watch…..the owners of the parking lot will look at those tire marks where you start your speed run….. And wonder…… “Has there been a little kid out here burnin tires on their tricycle??!! I mean, look,what else could it be?”
I just did a CNHL vs Yowoo test myself, but with speed run. The CNHL were the G+ series, 5000mAh/70C and the Yowoo Graphene 5000mah /100C. My data log showed interesting results. With the CNHL at 111mph, I pulled 270A with the voltage sag down to 29.3V. The Yowoo at 110mph, I pulled 245A with the voltage sag down to 28V. So what's interesting here is that with the Yowoo run at only 1mph lower, it ran 25A lower but the voltage sag was higher. So, CNHL prove to be the better batteries dropping more current & less voltage sag. Both runs were ran on separate days & were 1st runs, same setup/gears. Also, from what I have heard about SMC, they are extremely sensitive batteries. They can not be left charged overnight, they must be kept at storage level when not running, they need to be kept under room temp with low humidity.
@@jondilly1974 yup, I have an old 6S pack of the G+ that I am still bashing with & it's still going strong on my Typhon 6S over a year later! And I haven't been kind to that pack lol. I'm going to give the Yowoos another run 2moro, see what top speed I get. With the CNHL I pushed the Limitless to 120mph. The 110mph Yowoos run was only 74.8% throttle out, cuz I almost hit a squirrel 😂
@@jondilly1974 lol, yup! 😂 So I just have to share this data with you! I did my run today again with the Yowoo batteries on a better road, was able to hit 100% throttle this time. I can't believe the voltage sag, dropped down from 33.5V to 21.2V, 327A!! I only hit 114mph. Previously, with my CNHL G+Plus batteries, I hit 120mph at 91.5% throttle & my voltage sag only dropped from 33.1V to 26.6V, 345A. That's a pretty big difference lol. And those Yowoo batteries are practically new, barely have any runs on them. I have a professional digital 80W balance charger that I use to properly charge/set to storage level for my batteries. So I guess so far CNHL is the best budget friendly speedrun battery I have tried so far. I will use the Yowoo to bash with my Typhon 6S I guess .

I’ve found the same. The CNHL G+ are my best packs, followed by the Yowoo Graphene, SMC SRD, then CNHL Racing 90C.
